One of the best places in Allahabad to grab continental n North Indian dishes. A wide assortment of dishes, especially for vegetarians. Beautiful interiors and good ambience. The best part though happens to be their portion size. It's easily enough for 2 people. Good service. Staff is very nice n cooperative.. highly appreciated..

We didn't order a lot but whatever we did was really really delicious!! Service is good, Food is great and also you can click really nice photos for your IG haha. Best place for fine dining in Allahabad. We went there on a weekday and did not have to wait for a table. We only ordered a veg sizzler and it was amazing. The portion was good enough for two light eaters. The staff was courteous, service was fast and all hygiene protocols were being followed. Highly recommended.

The newly done up El Chico has a great bakery and confectionery on the ground floor, a vegetarian restaurant on the first floor, a banquet hall on the second floor, a multi cuisine restaurant on the third floor and a roof top restaurant for high tea... All areas have been done up tastefully and the food is great. However, the multi cuisine restaurant on the third floor has a long waiting queue so reserving your table in advance is advisable. The rooftop has great ambience but it's open for 3 hours only 3:30-6:30. The third floor restaurant q service is slow and we have to wait at least for half an hour for the food to arrive. Overall, a great place with great food and ambience. I tried every floor except the first floor vegetarian one.

The renovated El Chico's Bakery, The Baking Co. is a gorgeous, well lit and tastefully decorated place. The variety of dessert is endless, the prices quite nominal according to the taste! The desserts are fresh and the savoury goods are drool worthy. There is, however, very little place to sit, but it's all right as most people get take outs or quick bites on the tables. The packed goods such as breads, biscuits and seed mixtures are available in diverse variety. It's a must-visit if you're in Allahabad!

Tried their bakery section. One of the best in the city and probably among the best in our country. The variety of bakeries they provide and the quality they maintain is astonishing. Choco lava cake the favourite till now for me. Their dining section serves one of the best non veg foods in Prayagraj ( I haven't tried veg options but are expected to be good). Must tries are the different sizzlers ( special recommended Fish sizzler with grilled sole fish). Mutton biryani is delicious. The usual roti and indian curries are also good.

In 1964, a young man named Ganesh Rai went on a world tour. Among the many things he brought back with him, was the love for the café culture of Europe. So enamoured was he by the cafés that he decided to replicate them back home. Soon he bought a coffee machine, only the second in the country after The Oberoi in Delhi, and set up his own place in a shed erstwhile used as a godown. It has, for the past 50 years, been an integral part of the city’s foodscape, and while everything around the restaurant has changed in these years, the place itself remains as it is. From a café that opened in a shed to serve coffee and sandwiches, El Chico soon went on to become a full-fledged restaurant. Today, it has over 150 items on the menu, that range from Continental and Chinese to Indian. Then there is an entire section dedicated to desserts and beverages. Presumably, El Chico was the first — and the only place — to serve Continental food in Allahabad. El Chico the one time favorite of most of the old-timers of Allahabad, still continues its legacy with top class confectionery and restaurant. Went there for dinner with family on a Sunday evening. This was our first visit and oh my my! Such a lovely place in Allahabad. We were in awe of its interiors, it also has a rooftop dining, bakery, pure veg restaurant separately and amazing vibe. We had our reservations done because this place can be quite packed on weekends. The food was delish, wide variety of Continental food as well as Indian food. Their mocktails are worth a try! Although the Mutton Keema Naan felt a bit dry and flavourless, rest everything was superb! Will definitely definitely visit again whenever we are in Allahabad again.

Good food but slow service. The Sizzler was good and although it takes time for the sizzler to be prepared, it took mote than half an hour and at the same time the 'Chicken Tandoori' also took around 20 mins. Chicken Tandoori was nice in taste sizzler was okay given the price! I hope they may work on the taste of sizzler and improve the same in future. Overall good to go with group of friends amd hang out!

Excellent collection of bakery items in Allahabad. They have a bakery & take away at ground floor while 2nd and 3rd floor have restaurants serving veg and non-veg food respectively. There is a rooftop as well however it was not open when I visited on March 12th. I have loved their bakery items since my childhood, recently I tried food at their newly renovated restaurant and loved it. Strongly recommend this place.

It is hard to believe that such place exists in Prayagraj. The interior and decor are modern and exquisite. Range/options in pastries and cakes can spoil you for choice. We ordered 5 pastries and I liked mango nougat pastry the most.

There isn't anything bothering in that department.I know it's located at the heart of the city and it would be expensive, but still I don't think the pricing is justifiable. Then comes the Waiter. He was so fast and his accent was different, it made us to discuss among friends to decode and understand what he had just said. It was bothering. We had to ask him twice to know the dishes. A Good place to have lots of bakery items..but they don't have much stock. On the eve of Christmas plum cake was not available in evening. Staff does not attend the customer, they are busy with organisation. Even billing counter is poorly managed.

Although the place serves some good food but their staff is very very pathetic. They would literally put a gun on your head to get tips. I was asked to give tips 3 times even when I told them that I don't want to. It was a horrible experience.

This restaurant cum bakery is in heart of Prayagraj and just 100 meters from Subhash Square. Starters were good and they were better than main course... We ordered sizzlers, good in quantity but less in taste. Basically they have main focus on presentation instead of food quality. Rates are on higher side when compared to same class of taste. Quality is deteriorating. They should improve and maintain their heritage of taste...

Interiors are upgraded with a downgrade in there services and taste! Quantity of the food was quite low for the given price! For hygiene and sanitation it is 10/10. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant EL Chico Veggie Veg. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming self service system here is nice. The staff is also customer friendly. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Just North Indian Dinner menu is not extensive so not great for only for dining purpose.  It can be expensive but totally worth it. Highly recommended

So we had ordered cake , red velvet cake and it was very very very delicious. All of us liked it a lot. We had a Belgium Pastry there that too was very delicious. This was my first visit after the reincarnation of The EL Chico, and guess what it's so much better. The ambience is great, the interiors mesmerising, the hospitality topnotch. We had starters at the restaurant and the main course we took way and ate it an hour later in prayagraj express and still it's tasted so good. Easily the best place to eat/ take away in Allahabad/Prayagraj.

As i heard so many good things about el chico so i planned dinner with my mom for my b'day to be honest i did not like the food at all.. And i am not even picky i tried hot & sour soup which was basically black pepper and water combination the 2nd thing i tried was veg sizzler which has boiled veggies pasta and french fries and little bit of rice which was ok i had good sizzler before in half of the price which i paid here and the next was veg lasagna which was horrible trust me never ever order that untill you like carrot and beans in cheese ( it was sweet) which make it worse.. After that i order 2 strawberry shake and they gave me 1 vanilla when i said there was 2 strawberry, waiter requested if i can take vanilla since it was prepared they will give strawberry to my mom.. Which i said okay.. But that is also not upto the mark.. I tried sushi as well as i always wanted to try it was also not good .. Since i am not aware what exactly does it taste like i am not going to review that.. Overall it was slow service, food was expensive Considering the taste of almost all dishes were not good at all.. The only things which was good was interior and atmosphere..
