I was traveling Jaipur to Kishanganj (Bihar), but unfortunately my train was cancelled due to some reasons and during multi-lap indirect journey I reached here😍 I can't explain the view... Here you can see the two different river with different colour meet together. You can reach this point by paying ₹60/person to the sailor. At Triveni Sangam, the Ganges and the Yamuna can be identified by their different colours that is clearly visible but the Saraswati river is not visible. Here the Kumbh Mela held every 12 years. Overall amazing experience... #Family_trip_soon

The place where 3 Holy Rivers meet is called Triveni Sangam - Ganga, Yamuna and unseen Saraswati. Due to Magha Mela there was lot of rush and hence I visited in the evening though recommended in the morning where you can see Ganga and Yamuna with 2 distinct colours merging beautifully at the Sangam. Nowadays Ganga aarti is also performed though in a small way after sundown. The statue of Ganga Maa is also located close by. Near the Sangam is Allahabad Fort and many Temples especially the Bade Hanuman Mandir where Hanuman ji is in sleeping position., which is very rare. Due to Magha mela hundreds of tents and temporary bridges have been constructed, perhaps reused from the Kumbha Mela event held in 2019.

It is a good place with amazing weather and you can literally see the water of Ganga and Yamuna river separately flowing. Weather is good in evening with cool winds If you want boat ride People are here to con you only. You have to outsmart them The cost of boat ride is only 200rs for the whole boat, whether you are a single person or not. In my case we paid 600rs for 2 persons for which the asked 1200rs initially. In which 200 for boat ride for 2 person and 400 taken by middle men. In the boat we took we were only 2 people and 1 oarsman. Be firm and say I will pay only 200rs if you are 2 or 3 people. They try to make you pay more. They will start with 1200-1500 rs. You have to stick to a price and pretend I am going back Beyond 200rs Rest whatever you pay will go into the middle men's pocket. After the boat ride starts the oarsman took us to the confluence (sangam) and there was another boat, where arrangement for bath was there and there was a pandit. Pandit also trying to make only. They ask 100rs for 3 coconuts which will be pravahit in the rivers (one for each). Which are collected by pandit's men again and again to be used for the same rituals by other people. Initially the pandit will tell the price as 100rs for coconut and whatever Dan-Dakshina, you would like to give the pandit. And as he starts chanting mantras he will add the amount he wants as dakshina himself. In our case the pandit wanted us to pay him 600rs (100rs for re-used coconuts and 500rs as his Dakshina). He will say how many Brahmins you want to feed and this for your family and all sort of things in making you to give money. Again you have to be firm and decide before hand the price before starting your prayers. Because the price point will be introduced while you are praying. It is better take your own stuff to pravah in sangam and watch a YouTube video of basic prayer to be done while in confluence. Except for this con parts the place is good. Although water is dirty only due to human activities only but it is bearable. The wind feels amazing while you are in boat and the scenary is also very nice.

EVERY 12 YEARS, MILLIONS OF people are drawn to a spiritual festival in India, the Maha Kumbh Mela, at a place called the Triveni Sangam. It’s the largest gathering of humanity on Earth. The gathering is so big, it purportedly can be seen from outer space. It’s also 2,000 years old. But that’s still not the most amazing thing about it. The Triveni Sangam, where the festival takes place, is the meeting place of three rivers: the Saraswati, Yamuna, and Ganga (Ganges). The Yamuna and Ganga are sacred rivers in India, and highly revered. They are each of a different hue—the Ganga is brownish and the Yamuna greenish—which makes for a fascinating sight. However, the third river, the Saraswati is a mythical river, which supposedly dried up many millennia ago. Nevertheless, the Triveni Sangam is to this day referred to as the meeting place of the three rivers. There is a belief that the Saraswati river flows underneath the surface. The Triveni Sangam is considered to be a very sacred place in India to Hindus, who believe that taking a dip there will wash away sins and free them from the cycle of rebirth, thereby achieving Moksha. It’s normally a very peaceful place that transforms into an “instant city” when the Maha Kumbh Mela rolls into town. The dates of the Kumbh Mela are based on astrology, which dictates when the waters of the sacred rivers will turn into nectar. It is believed that this nectar can turn mortals into immortals, and legend says that drops of immortal nectar fell onto this spot at the Triveni Sangam during a mythological battle between gods and demons. This is the reason the Triveni Sangam is considered to be so holy, and the reason the Maha Kumbh Mela is held there.

One of the holiest destinations for the Hindus, the Triveni Sangam is perhaps the most important place to visit in Allahabad. Confluence of three rivers – the Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati (a mythical river which is supposed to have dried up thousands of year ago), the Triveni Sangam holds a very high position when it comes to India’s spirituality. All the three rivers are considered immensely holy in India and it is but obvious that their meeting point is one of pious energy. To believe mythology and popular faith, a dip or bath at the sangam helps one wash away all their sins that have collected over the lifetime. It is also believed to have emancipating the human soul from the bondage of birth and death. This is what religion and faith says and even if you choose to ignore them, there are ample reasons for one to pay a visit to the Triveni Sangam. The merger of the rivers is a pleasant sight to the human eyes. We suggest you take a boat ride on the confluence point and you will clearly see the difference in colours of water from the two rivers. The water from the Ganges is clear while the Yamuna is greenish in colour. A truly blissful experience!👌❤❤❤❤❤

Triveni Sangam, Allahabad One of the holiest places in Central India, Triveni Sangam is located about 7 kilometres away from Civil Lines in Allahabad (Prayagraj). It is the meeting point of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati (which is a mythical river, supposed to have dried up more than 4,000 years ago). It is one of the places where the Kumbh Mela is held once every 12 years. The exact date of the Mela is determined according to the Hindu calendar i.e. the Panchanga. All three rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati are highly revered rivers in Indian mythology, and hence the confluence point of these rivers hold tremendous religious importance. According to Hindu mythology, taking a bath in the holy Triveni Sangam is supposed to flush away all the sins and free you from the cycle of rebirth. Moreover, the Sangam itself is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The brownish Ganga meeting the slightly greenish Yamuna is indeed a sight to behold. If you take a boat ride to the gently flowing waters of Ganga and Yamuna, you'll be able to make out the difference in colours of water from the two rivers. There are also makeshift wooden banks made at the Sangam. Hence, devotees who want can take a bath right at the confluence point. The water is clean enough at the Triveni Sangam for a bath, especially during the winters; and also not very deep, so it is fun to take a dip in the water here.

Triveni Sangam as named it is a sangam of three scared river of India MAA GANGA JI,MAA SARSWATI JI , AND MAA YAMUNA JI. U clearly seen the mixing of water of ganga ji and yamuna Ji there. Maa Sarswati ji under ground flow as people say. It is a place where Mahal kumbh mela organised and lakhs of devotees visit this place. I drive my car approximately 6 hours , i feel very tired. When I take a bath in sangam all my tiredness gone away and I feel energetic. It is a practical experience I feel there. My parents and my children enjoy the bathing in sangam. I take a boat there which drop us at place where exactly the water mixes. There are various price for same type of boat please bargain them. Near to sangam the badae Hanuman ji mandir or Lata hua Hanuman ji mandir which people often say . Timing of Hanuman ji mandir strictly followed. Mandir closed between 2 to 4 pm daily. A special aarti is organised every Tuesday and Saturday.

Your trip to Uttar Pradesh would be a dull experience if you do not visit this place in Prayagraj, especially during the monsoon and winter season. This place cleanses your soul from its innermost depth and gives you the peace your mind needs. You can spend the entire night sitting at the bank of the rivers, watching at the reflections of the moon and the stars on the surface of water and the wave crests rising and falling with a sweet breeze hitting your face one after another.

    (Translated by Google) Sangam, formerly located in Allahabad (Prayagraj). Here three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati meet. All of us can see the meeting of Ganga and Yamuna with our naked eyes because the water of the Ganges is dark while the water of Yamuna looks like sand color and both of these The currents are never mixed. At the confluence site, you mostly get to see the water of the Ganges. From time to time, devotees congregate in large quantities on occasions like Kumbh, Maha Kumbh, holy bath, full moon, which greatly increases the importance of this place. These are the major ghats which are named Sangam Ghat, Saraswati Ghat, Arail Ghat, Rasulabad Ghat, Phaphamau, Daraganj. Here, preference is given to immersing the bones.

In Hindu tradition Triveni Sangam is the "confluence" (Sangam in Sanskrit) of three rivers (Ganga,Yamuna & the Saraswati River). The point of confluence of holy rivers is a sacred place for Hindus, with a bath here said to flush away all of one's sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj (Prayag), has the confluence of three rivers — the Ganges , the Yamuna and the Sarasvati (it is invisible, because according to Hindu mythology it flows underground). The two rivers maintain their visible identity and can be identified by their different colours. The water of the Ganges is clear, while that of the Yamuna is greenish in colour. A place of religious importance and the site for historic Kumbh Mela held every 12 years, over the years it has also been the site of immersion of ashes of several national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi in 1948. The auspiciousness of the confluence of two rivers is referred to in the Rigveda, which says,"Those who bathe at the place where the two rivers flow together, rise up to heaven"

I had a very great time here. It was my first time to river Ganges. I boarded on a small boat on Yamuna bank near Prayagraj Fort, where there is no crowd. I paid 200 rupees and two old men skillfully paddled the boat to the sangham and back. They typically take you to the sangam boat stand, make you perform nariyal pooja and then charge 100 rupees. I got on the boat at the time of sunset and the view around was simply wonderful. You can find many albatrosses and might even manage to feed them, like how Jadeja fed the birds during the bird flu outbreak during the pandemic and landed the boatsman in trouble 😂.

Absolutely no facilities for the pilgrims. No well maintained ghat or facilities. Pilgrims are robbed by boatmen, priests and local sellers and Beggars. At Sangam no facilities for pilgrims. Poor dirty nasty place filled with Beggars and cheaters.

I visited Prayagraj as my nanu expired so in hindu mythology the ashes and remains are meant to be put at the triveni sangam which is basically a meeting point where three of our major river meet which are ganga , yamuna and saraswati among which saraswati river is hidden on the otherhand you can visibily see the sangham on other two rivers

I am not naming the tour agency involved since they told me ‘it’s the first time it happened in 3 years’ and I will give them benefit of doubt but to anyone who reads this please please be extremely careful of the boat/boatmen you hire else your sangam ride will become a full blown extortion exercise . The boatmen we hired by paying a premium to this travel agency, tried to get money out of us in the middle of the river despite us advancing money to the agency , they were more intersted in taking us to a spot for some rituals rather than the actual sangam - in the end we saw the actual sangam from a distance for some fleeting seconds . If i wanted this experience i could have gone down to the ghats - bargained hard and done this cheaper too . Maybe if by luck i found a decent boatman, I would even have a nice experience . I pre arranged the ride through this ‘reputed agency’ because i wanted to have a hassle free experience . But alas this did not happen . The boat ride down the Yamuna, or atleast what I could salvage of it , was extremely pretty and nice and worth doing with the caveats mentioned above

It's one of the most holy places for Hindus. The last place where all our souls rest. I was saddened though due to the lack of cleanliness there and no one at was using any mask even during this is pandemic.

Triveni or sangam means confluence of three rivers viz. Ganga, yamuna and Saraswati, though two Ganga and Yamuna are visible and Saraswati is not visible. Triveni at Prayagraj is a major pilgrimage place for hindu devotees. After 12 years Kumbh fair is also held here also every yea Magh mela is celebrated. There are numerous boat service providers who for a nominal fee take pilgrims to the sangam for paying homage and bathing. They have created sand pedistal at the confluence for ease of access to pilgrimage. People bath here to ward away sins. They also collect some nominal charges for bathing at sangam as well. Only con here is cleanliness, local people who earn from pilgrims should form an association or something to keep the river banks clean. I visited here first time and it was a soulful experience.

Prayagraj Sangam is such a confluence where 3 rivers meet. Which is the first river, the Ganges river and the second river is the Yamuna river and the third river is named Saraswati, which is secret if it is believed in this confluence. So the Saraswati river flows from inside by mixing in both the rivers, which is not visible here, there are many mysterious stories related to ancient times, which are still very long and related to history here. There are many things that you will get to see and explore and at the same time you will start your day well.

In Hindu tradition, Triveni Sangam is the confluence (Sanskrit: sangama) of three rivers that is also a sacred place, with a bath here said to flush away all of one's sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth. Triveni Sangam is the confluence of the Ganges (Ganga), Yamuna, and the mythical Sarasvati River. Triveni Sangam is located at Prayag – the area of Prayagraj neighbouring the confluence; for this reason, the confluence is also sometimes referred to as Prayag.[5] The Ganges and Yamuna there can be identified by their different colours – the water of the Ganges is clear while that of Yamuna is greenish in colour.[6] The third river, mythical Saraswati, is called invisible. A place of religious importance and the site for historic Kumbh Mela held every 12 years, over the years it has also been the site of immersion of ashes of several national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi in 1949 The auspiciousness of the confluence of two rivers is referred to in the Rigveda, which says, "Those who bathe at the place where the two rivers, white and dark, flow together, rise up to heaven."[7]

Nice experience... though a bit overcrowded and mismanaged... the administration must built a permanent jetty for devotees to onboard the boats, otherwise people fell down in the mud all the time during monsoon and gets hurt... the boat rate given by govt. is Rs. 60 per person, but after negotiation I could get it at Rs. 400 for me, not less, there is no govt. regulated coupon system... Riding the boat, reaching the Sangam, having a bath in the midst of river Ganga is an unique experience one must have... you can offer a puja also if you want at Rs. 100... one thing is lacking though, there is no changing room on the boat after bath, so, a bit difficult for the ladies... Car parking is available at the Ghat or you can hire an Auto or Vikram at Rs. 30 to reach railway station...

Totally disorganised boats and arrangements. One fends for oneself. The path to the boats is strewn with sites of past Puja’s and one is forced to Willy milky step on/over or across these. Quite disconcerting. The contractors bargain. Expect to pay 500 plus tip for 10–20 mins in boat while it bumps it’s way to where the Jamuna’s green waters meet the brown water of the Ganges. We argued with boatman who insisted we buy fried Dev to feed the visiting herons that are pretty sights along the river surface. We refused to offer coconut etc to the river Saraswati. And to take a holy dip. All of it is part of the commerce of the place. There is no path boats follow so it’s a mess of prows and broadsides bumping. A total exploitation of the religious-minded gullible hoards who throng to the river coming from all over india. Sad to see a ritual that should be private and quiet be trivialised so.

It should be the first place to visit in Prayagraj. Don't miss it. Before riding the boat you should buy some food for birds. You will enjoy it when you spread it in the water and there will be lots of birds in front of you trying to eat. And then don't forget to click some photos. This is a really awesome experience and worth it.

Triveni Sangam is a significant and revered site located in Allahabad, now known as Prayagraj, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The term "Triveni" translates to "confluence of three," referring to the meeting point of three sacred rivers—the Ganga (Ganges), Yamuna, and Saraswati. The confluence holds immense spiritual and religious importance in Hinduism. It is believed that a dip in the Triveni Sangam cleanses one's sins and leads to spiritual purification. Millions of pilgrims and devotees from all over India and beyond visit this holy site to participate in various religious rituals, prayers, and baths.

Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj is most famous religious spot for Hindu. I think In Prayagraj 90% tourists comes to visit Triveni Sangam. At this place Ganga river, Jamuna river comes together and Saraswati river also assume in invisible form that's why this place is called as Triveni Sangam. I love this place in terms of religious and geographic aspects. But beware from cheaters, they deal with you at very high charges. My suggestion is if you comes here then You must bargain in travelling, boating etc.

  • 4/5 Gaurang C. 4 months ago on Google
It's a holy place for Hindu worshippers. Nice atmosphere. Must experience atleast once. You'll be mesmerised by the aura of the place. Many migratory birds come in winter here which is an added attraction. Only problem is management. No proper rates set for boats. You have to bargain to boatmen. Also at Sangam you have to give docking charges which will not be informed to you when boarding on boat. There's so much crowd at Sangam and boats are too risky when you get in line for 'Snan'. Atleast there should be some management for Pooja and Snan.

Most of the pilgrimage centers of Hinduism are situated on the banks of rivers. Even in that, the place where the confluence of three rivers is taking place is considered important. The Ganga and Yamuna rivers are seen separately at Prayag Sangam, but it is said that Saraswati is also mixed in it, which is not visible separately. The amazing thing about the Saraswati river is that the water of the Saraswati river can be seen at very few places. Its existence is believed to be flowing in an invisible form.

    1) first of all for you when you reach the place and the ground where is there is a parking what is the main issue is there is no washroom only one Washroom is public washroom and that is what is dirty 2) then take a electric vehicle they will charge you Rs.10 to Prayagraj 3) you have to book about it will be around like what charges don’t go with upper head charges go without charge is the boat charges around Rs.600. Someone take you like Rs.200 someone to ask you Rs.400 from 1000 to 3000 for Boat, but it was all the shechms and bluff don’t go for it. Tell them that you are continue visitor take a boat and it will be around Rs.600-Rs.700 and one can sit around 8 to 10 peoples 4) When you reach in the water the two what is parallel kept in the tide with the bamboos and ropes is in a way that one can do a dubki . It’s not much risky, but try to keep your hand tight at bamboos. 5) on a boat again there they will give you the scheme to sit and in front of Maharajan Maharaj Vilas Q Rs.4000 Rs.2000. Tell them that we can give you only Rs.101 rs 6) once your complete your bath will show you the Sangam water, put the dia in the water and get back to the fort place 7) once you do bath in Sangam you need to go to the temple of Bada hanuman Don’t forget to go that fort it’s also good but the work is in process
