This is the ONLY decent hotel in Prayagraj. They know that whatever price they charge, you'll HAVE to stay here ! So, the price you pay is not actually for the quality of the rooms but for the demand-supply mismatch. You'll find far better rooms in all the metros across India for the same price. I wish better hotels ( big players especially ) come up in Prayagraj, so that Kanha Shyam's monopoly will come to an end. So - yeah, please choose this hotel when you're in Prayagraj, but its standard is no way close to the money you pay for !

Recently visited the Indian restaurant of Hotel Kanha Shyam ie Jannat. It serves a sit down buffet dinner . The ambience is soothing and pleasant. There is live music. There is a four course meal served including salads, starters, soup, main course and desserts. It is indeed a pleasant experience. Must visit.

Reception is horrible. The moment I showed my booking they started checking with each other as I am not suitable for that hotel. After some discussion they allotted a room in 8th floor. After telling we need in below that, they bluntly denied it. Next after going to restaurant I have asked for hot water for drinking. Simply the staff told us no hot water. Food is also not good. Overhaul my experience with this hotel is horrible. I am a frequent traveler. I travel all over the world. I never faced such of hotel and staff.

Located on Civil Lines close to Prayagraj station and a lot of shopping options on a hustle bustle street. The building stands out as a beautiful structure amidst all the commercial properties. The property has a proper 4* feel with well maintained interiors and well trained staff. Stayed in the Deluxe room and it was outrageously spacious with a big bed, sofa bed, 3 seater dining and a desk without even cramping the room. The staff was courteous and helpful, working with smiles (no one was rude like some reviews mention). We were staying with a small baby and had a lot of demands which were taken care of with smiles. The food is good, the spreads are limited but everything was well prepared (we didn't get stomach upsets or acidity like most hotel foods do) and the taste was good as well. Overall a good stay, would myself stay here for any future trips and recommend people travelling to Allahabad as well

This place is just horrific. They charged us the cost of a five star hotel but there's nothing luxurious. The room is just average. Food was average. But but but they have a restaurant 'JANNAT' and I swear I never had such a terrible experience. Never ever visit them . They're just looting you in name of buffet.

Staff named A.R SINGH Is too rude. Although,I stayed here for only one night , I realized that there were ants in the bathroom. The room which was alloted to me was 'ROOM NO.308' when I called the receptionist he was acting like a king. And was of illed-behavior. Thank you.

For those who are reading this, let me know you that I have never been to this place in my life while it is only 15 minutes far from my home...but I have overheard that this place is not less than any 5 star hotel. Not now,but some years back it was one of the best hotel of prayagraj and was famous for its infra and world class facilities.Only rich class of society used to go here.Many hotels have opened till date but I still recommend it the best among the all.it is a famous landmark in civil lines area.

Staff is very cooperative and best part is food. It's commendable that I had food over here after 12 years and they have still maintained the delicacy. We opted for free breakfast in our package. It was a good breakfast buffet with ample options. Me, my wife and my little kids enjoyed the food very much. Thanks for making our stay wonderful. We liked the room, room service and food

We stayed only one night in this hotel. It was a nice business hotel with clean rooms and a good buffet. The hotel is in the middle of the city and the view is okay. You can look in the bathroom from the bed and between toilet and shower is only frosted glas.

I have been to Prayagraj for some official tour and booked this Hotel for one night stay. My experience with this property was awesome. They have good facilities and supportive people on board. The Hotel has in house restaurant at 1st floor and the food was also delicious and well served. I have not found any kind of issue during stay so rating with 5 stars.

Its the best cube stay in prayagraj. i have ever stayed. Very nice interior and decorum. Separate facility for girls and boys. Staff is very friendly. They have large lounge .their drink and food are absolutely gorgeous .Go stay and enjoy.

Very pathetic staff....The whole staff as well as the manager was very arrogant and uncooperative...my husband was there this morning and very disappointed..firstly they made him wait for an hour in lobby during check in and told that room is not ready whereas he had prior booking..he was on the official tour so told him about my lack of time as he had to attend his work but still they were not ready to listen anything and replied very harshly...and in dinner time,my husband requested to pack his dinner as he had to catch the train but they refused and serve him the dinner at 7... It was not expected from such famous hotel of prayagraj.. totally disappointed...and would not recommend to anyone..

Don't fall for the pictures. It looks awesome only in the pictures. Reality is totally different. Worst place to stay. Tariff is too high as per the quality.

Room was great and service was great. Staff was very cordial and helpful. In dining room food was also good. Breakfast was a tad bit disappointing because of "sambhar" - it was literally like masala hot water and not "sambhar" - Chef needs to work on that. Apart from that - all was good.

It is one of my favourite place to go with my family. I mostly go to the main resturant. The environment is peaceful with instrumental music going on. And the food taste delicious. You should definitely try their dessert that is brownie with ice cream. Its my favourite😍

I have been coming to Kanha Shyam for many years and while it has maintained its standards for the last 10 years, I'm sad to say it has not kept up with the times as much as local competitors. El Chico, by contrast, has really ramped up their operations and offers a chic, modern dining and lodging experience. However, it must be noted that Kanha Shyam still offers the grandest hotel experience in Allahabad with a large property capable of hosting large functions and inclusive of multiple restaurants. I will say that the quality of The Patio restaurant has suffered during the pandemic, but I have not deducted an additional star due to this as I hope that the service can return to normal after the pandemic. Overall, great place and great hotel to bring guests to for lunch/dinner or stay in if you are visiting the city and want to stay in a prime location.

A nice place to stay centrally in allahabad with good accessibility to all famous places. Rooms are clean and nice and sanitized property. Food taste is bland and compared to the price they charge as per Tier 2 city the ptions are limited.

My experience of stay+ food yesterday was awesome. Have heard alot about it being one of the top hotels in Prayagraj and I must say that the hospitality was upto the mark. I would highly recommend it if you are visiting Prayagraj and wants a luxurious stay along with quality and delicious food.

I was concerned about the quality of hotels at Prayagraj, especially after hearing all stories of people who went for pind-daan/ashthi-daan at sangam. To add to my worries was a fully packed city with yearly Kumbh Mela happening. I was lucky to find this hotel. A neat & clean hotel with standard amenities that you would expect in any hotel. Happy to have stayed over there.

Hotel is located in very good area.. Rooms are quite spacious.. excellent service...lots of options in food.. But Staying arrangements for drivers need to be improved.. My driver told me that the hotel had turned off the fan of the dormitory even when he was there.. We don't expect such things from such a reputed hotel.

Beautiful place. Very nice ambiance but the buffet food menu was very less as well as the service was not that good which was expected from kanha shyam hotel. The buffet food was not that tasty as we heard of the name of the hotel. There is a person who keeps on playing sitar which is very pleasing to ears. In all except for the food and service everything was good.

One of the best hotels in Allahabad, the rooms comes in the range of 6000 + Gst to 12000 Rs. The hotel is just 1 km from railways station. The hotels offers variety of food in breakfast. The resturant serves good food. The hotel have corporates discounts too and can be availed on asking.

Continuosly water is falling from a c in room. Room has become pool but nobody could fix it. If hotel is under renovation better shut services for few months and reopen. Food is way too much costly and staff non cooperative. Needs serious improvement.

Rooms and ambience is good. We found our stay and services bit expensive. Service is very good except no one came to pick our lugguage until we requested at the reception and same while checking out no one kept our lugguage into the car. I am mentioning this because entrance has lot of stairs and it was difficult for us to manage on our own.
