There is nothing to see. It has just historical place. There is no transport service available from the qila. The place has a long well called SAMUDRA COOP. It is said that when God were doing Yagya they need water of sea then they get it through this coop.

It is not a place to visit to experience adventures trip or ancient ruins, itтАЩs more of an ancient hindu temple. Not very big, negligible crowd you will get a good view of sangam from their. Not recommended if you are visiting Allahabad there are a lot better things there to experience.

Highest viewpoint in prayagraj for Sangam. Very seren place. Also Known as Samudra Koop Tirth. Koop, a well is the main attraction of this place. During maagh mela this is busiest place. This place is undertaken by Archaeological Survey of India ASI. Can be visited being historic place.

The place is well located and provides you a good panoramic view of the Sangam area and is a Heritage property. Bad thing is that you cannot explore the monument as its closed for public visit, but you can only visit the temple on the top of the monument.

It's a hidden gem of Prayag at the bank of Holi Ganga.its sorroundings need to be clean since it is unattended despite ASI property. It would become a place of tourist interest if developed.

  • 5/5 Mayank C. 3 years ago on Google
It is very peaceful place to view the scenic beauty of the ganga, yamuna and naini bridge. You can go there and sit and relax. Hanuman Mandir is inside a Cave ( Gufa ) so it will be worth exploring. P.S. : after going into cave right side will be hanuman statue and try going left and explore bats in the small spaces. :P

(Translated by Google) Magh Mela is going on in Prayagraj these days. People from far and wide are coming to Magh fair and taking bath in Sangam. Apart from Ganga bathing, people are also reaching here for darshan and worship at major places. One such place is the Ulta Fort situated on the banks of the Ganges. It is said that this fort belongs to Pururava, grandson of King Moon. A very famous story in history and scriptures is famous in history about King Pururava. She is his love story of Apsara Urvashi of heaven. Hearing the fame of Urvashi King Pururava, she came to see him and was enchanted and fell in love with him. Later both of them got married. It is said that Urvashi Devaraja was Indra's favorite nymph. After marrying King Pururava, Urvashi started living with her in this fort on the banks of Ganges on Earth. After which Devraj Indra started thinking of ways to separate them. He sent Gandharvo for this. After which the Gandharvas tricked and broke the promise given to Urvashi from King Pururava. After which Urvashi went back again to Swarga Loka. It is said about this fort that at one time there was a king Haribong. Who invited a saint to his fort for a meal. But the king insulted that saint by calling in his fort. After which the saint cursed the king. As soon as the saint cursed, the fort caught fire and all the things were vomited straight away. Since then, these fort are called Ulta Fort. There is a cave about 30 feet deep in the fort. A narrow staircase leads inside the cave. After going inside, there is a very old idol of Hanuman ji in that cave. Where people go daily to worship. There are 11 more caves adjacent to this temple. Which is quite dark. These caves are full of bats. Located at an altitude of about 150 feet from the Ganges coast, this fort is a center of attraction for the people. However, now only a few ruins and more mounds are left in the name of the remains of the fort. But despite this, this place is the center of people's faith. Well not much in the reach of people. But the place is under ASI (Archiological Survey of India). Including A historical structure called SAMUDRA KOOP. That was really intresting in that place.
