It's a historical place situated in Sulem Sarai near Chaufatka over bridge on G.T. Road. This is not a simple tamarind tree. This is a witness to India's independence. This tree has seen the revolutionaries dying in front of us. This tree is witness to the martyrdom of dead people for the country. Where is this tree ? Let's tell you ... This tree is maintaining a special place in Indian history. It is known as the Bawani tamarind tree. On 28 April 1858, the British had hung 52 revolutionaries together on the hanging trap hanging on this tree. With this tree neutral, the revolutionary Jodha Singh Attaiya, who was immersed in the nose of the British, and his 51 companions, directly revealed the martyrdom. Bawani is located in Paradan near Khajua town in the Bindki subdivision of Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh. This place is famous for the Thakur Jodha Singh Attaiya and his companions. Thakur Jodha Singh was a resident of Attaiya Rasulpur village (now Padhra) of Bindki. From the time of revolution of 1857, they started going to be known as revolutionary Jodha Singh Attaiya. Jodha Singh, influenced by Rani Laxmibai, surrounded a Durga and an English soldier in Mahmudpur village on 27 October 1857. On December 7, 1857, attacked the Gangapar Ranipur Police Chowk and killed the British persecuted traitor. Their revolutionary faction robbed the government treasury by making Tahsildar captive in Jehanabad the following day. Due to the looting and burning of government offices by Jodha Singh Ataya, the British declared them a mobster. On returning to Khajua with his 51 colleagues on April 28, 1858, Colonel Christy's army took him captive along with all the 51 associates, and all were hanged on this tamarind tree together. The extreme extent of vandalism was that the dead bodies were not even removed from the tree. For several days, the body hanging on this tree. On the night of May 4, along with his armed companions, the local King 'Bawani Imli' came and dropped the dead bodies and buried them in Ganga Ghat of Shivrajpur. Martyrdom Day is celebrated on 23 March in the memory of revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Shahgad of Rajguru, but here on 28th April, martyr's day is celebrated in memory of these 52 revolutionaries. This tamarind tree has become a symbol of Amar Saput of Bharat Mata. Even today, on the 28th day of martyr's day, people arrive at other national festivals to pay floral tributes. Jai Hind !!!!

The place has too much significance in indian freedom against british rule, at that time many indian revolutionary were hung on a tamarind tree which is later know as "FANSI IMLI" . But at present the place is about to extinct due to ignorance of responsible authority's. The place is just besides the road and bounded by some cable, wires, no tiles and no concrete work for any memorable structure. I was shocked to see because I had planned for it to go and see what happend there if I can find any inscription.

Though it's called a national landmark, most people don't even know what it is about.... There is no dedicated campus for it, it's just a road side statue.....😔

There is nothing special of this place. Earlier this place just was a vendors hub. It's only during the recent kumbh Mela celebration, there was a face lift in the form of placard installation and paved parking. Majority of people don't even know why this tamarind tree was used. To hang innocent people or the traitors

Not a big place to wonder but yet linked to history of India. Britishers use a tree to hang to death to Indians who denied to follow them.
