This is the clock tower of Allahabad. It was build by the Britishers. The all over area around this looks very old. It truly connects you to the past history of the city. Many year old buildings and complexes here looks so different from the modern architectural buildings. These buildings look like havelis.

Chock market is divided into section means ..............shoe market section, utensils section, clothes section, bag and handbag section, and like that ...........i say it will be organized market but it doesn't mean it is ditto copy on ground you will find irregularities in shop orders i give you only the general perception ................ What can you buy in chock ........... -clothes - any hardware related things - any household needs things...........pipes, parda, cup, plate , dinning thing, carpets, beds, mattress, - any utensils - any shoes - all wedding things from a to z in terms of clothes........... - weighing machine - anything related to wood things whether for the beds, mandir, almirah, table, sofa or something your personally want.............. Nice market where everything is available in cheap and reasonable rates. There is an issue of overcrowding but that can be dealt by not going via a car and using public transport like rickshaw. Best is walking. Be all eyes and ears as there are many pickpockets around the area. Shopkeepers are humble but stay wary as sometimes they quote a higher price than the fit for quality of goods, after all they are businessmen. Watch shops and showrooms are decent too and deal in legit watches. At morning, around 8-10 , a man sells jalebi, I would recommend to check it out, it's absolutely mesmerizing for your taste buds.

Very good place for cheap shopping. So much crowded place with different- different products. U can buy from street as well as market. You can take battery-rikshaw otherwise go with your Scotty and bike but don't take car. Otherwise you get messed up in the crowd.

Prayagraj's Ghanta Ghar Is Second largest Ghanta Ghar In Uttar Pradesh It's Made By Mughals In 1913. The place where these are made is very crowded and there are many shops near it too: for example electronics and household shops.

U can do shopping at this place for clothes especially for girls and u can also get self covers at reasonable prices . It is very busy market and u can bargain here too. In the same lane towards johnsongang u can also do shopping for watches bcz here are numerous shops of watches and also if u want to buy electronic items (especially loud speakers) just go inside the gullies to shop for loud speakers and other electronic items.

If you want to do shopping in Prayagraj it is the only best option you have besides Civil lines. While in Civil lines you can find showrooms of various companies which is costly affair for many. In Ghanta Ghar also known as Chowk you can do shopping at comparatively cheaper rates.

Crowded place . If somebody wanna go there must use two wheeler rather than four wheeler. Old reputed shops for garments, saree, shoes and home appliances. Leather belts are also attractive here.must go and do shopping as per your requirement.

The tropic of cancer passes through the clock house (translated in Hindi to Ghanta ghar). The place has turned into a market area where street vendors and foot path sellers sell many products ranging from clothes, carpets, bedsheets to ropes, buckets, pipes under makeshift tarpaulin tent shelters to protect them from sun and rain. The locality around has very 9ld buildings portraying rich cultural architectural style of Mughals and colonial era. Few buildings have pillared space for pedestrians which shows the thought for urban scape long before. But most of these rich cultural heritage buildings are dilapidated and not preserved and could fall in the near future if not undertaken preservation.

Best place to buy household items, garments, clothes, jewelleries, food items, decoration items, shoes, ladies items in cheap and affordable price is this PLACE OF PRAYAGRAJ. Located in the heart of the city with the CENTER CLOCK ( Ghanta Ghar) standing tall in the midst of the market, foretelling the historical tales of Prayagraj then Allahabad. From the Prayagraj junction it's is hardly 3 km away. Just behind Ghant Ghar there is a big market popularly known as "GADBADJHALA". It houses over 100 to 200 shops of innumerable items ranging from flower pots, gifts, toys, hats, lipstick, lingerie, to decoration items, shoes, indoor games board on wholesale rate. On the left side of Ghanta Ghar, one can find a shopping park. A heaven for ladies garments such as lehenga, saree, kurti, dupatta, shoes, innerwear, etc. . There is a row of shops of electronic of electronic goods also just adjacent to Ghadbadjhala market. For Non - veg lovers the right side of Ghantaghar is the ideal point to quench their Non - veg thirst. There are series of shops with only Non-veg menu on the card. Mouth watering and tasty Kababs, Roomali Roti, chicken biryani, Meat curry, roasted meat and many other Mughlai cuisine will quench your heart and tummy to the fullest. There is a NEEM TREE just behind GHANBADJHLA market. Many people say that on this nerm tree Indian freedom fighters were hanged for protesting against the British Empire. It's really worth seeing and the people of Prayagraj have great respect for this neem tree as it reminds them of their freedom struggle. # if you have liked my comment. Kindly, like and share it.

Ghanta Ghar in Prayagraj (Allahabad) falls in old city, in the Chowk area to be precise. Very crowded, congested, chaotic, unorganised, unhygienic, shabby, poor construction, bad looks, dirty roads are the features that best describe this area. Surprising that why the local administration has never taken any step to improve upon the locality. Totally neglected. In summers this place is unclean so you can imagine what will happen in rainy season!! In modern cities or in modern times there is no place like Ghanta Ghar. Therefore it becomes more important for the state government and the local administration to beautify it and promote tourism with it.

Ghanta Ghar or the clock tower is the heart of the old city full of jostling crowds bustling with business activities. Hard to move in a vehicle rather tough to walk as well. Has a lot of old history attached to it and around it . It is the center of almost all wholesale business activities. Charm of the old lifestyle and worth a visit for bargain buyers . Di visit if you don't mind crowds. Happy Shopping !!

    (Translated by Google) Located in the busy area Chowk of Prayagraj, this clock tower was built 1 century ago in the year 1913 by the then British rule. It is the second oldest clock in the state of Uttar Pradesh after Lucknow's Ghantaghar. Roman architecture is seen in its pillars. It is a tower about 50 feet high.
