On the big Ek shila, there is Lord Rama/ Sita & one eyed Crow can be seen. Be careful large number of monkeys are here. Beautiful tourist spot. The sphatik shila is said to be the only slippery shila in chitrakoot . Lord ram and sita sat here when lord ram punished a crow with his bow. A small temple is also situated. Lots of fishes and monkeys can be seen and fed. The Crystalline rock on the banks of Mandakini river is supposed to have foot prints of Rama and hence highly revered.Sita and Rama are supposed to have rested on this rock when they were resting on Manakiniriver in Chitrakoot. The episode of Kakasura also supposed to have taken place is here. So this place is highly rated and visited in Chitrakoot. A must visit for those having faith. Enjoyed alot...

A small boulder situated on the banks of River Mandakini, the Sphatik shila is believed to be the spot from where Lord Rama and Goddess Sita appreciated the beauty of Chitrakoot. The place is hidden amidst thick forests. It is believed that Lord Rama and Sita maa used to relax on this boulder. this boulder still bears the imprint of Lord Rama's feet. Also, as per mythology, this is the same place where Goddess Sita was bitten by Jayant, the son of Lord Indra, disguised as a crow. Its natural surroundings and peaceful ambience, the sphatik Shila is a great place to relax and enjoy the loveliness of Chitrakoot.

The Spastic Shila, in Chitrakoot, is a historical place, depicts the existence of Ramayana, and is related to Mata Sita and Sri Ram, located on the bank of the river Mandakini, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. This Place is famous for two massive whitish Rocks called Spatik Shila, situated on the riverside, which is very smooth from the top. It is a soft stone as talc stone. It has a legendary story, emotional involved to Shriram. It is believed that, this is the place where Shri Ram used to relax and rest whenever he felt doing so. This Rock poses a distinct quality of being soft and silky touch, which might be giving a shooting effect to Sriram, whenever he rested there. This secret rock, the sphatic Shila means a crystal stone. It has the footprints of Ram and Sita. This place is adorned with natural beauty. It is Amidst green Jungle with trees, river, Birds, monkeys, etc etc. There are a number of colourful fishes in this river, which beautifies the beauty of the place. The flourshing trees Around The srrenity and the charming attractiveness of the place, would certainly formulate an idea that, it is a must place to see by each and everyone, no matter whether one is religious or not. This is the budgetable place within cheap category.Chitrakoot is well connected by roads to all the major cities and towns of Madhya Pradesh. If you travel by air the nearest airport is Khajuraho. The nearest Railway station is Chitrakoot Dham Karvi. You may avail bus service or engage taxi to reach the main town area of Chitrakoot. There are local means of transportation like buses or cycle rickshaws to reach other places. Don’t forget to take the boat ride in the Mandakini in the evening Aarthi celebrations. You will enjoy the divine pleasure at that moment.

Sphatik Shila, also known as the Crystal Rock, is a sacred site located in the Chitrakoot region of India. It holds great religious significance in Hinduism, and is considered a holy place for pilgrimage. Lord Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana spent a significant period of their exile in the forests of Chitrakoot. It is said that Sphatik Shila is the spot where Lord Rama and Sita used to sit and meditate during their exile. Devotees believe that Sphatik Shila is a manifestation of Lord Rama's grace and blessings. It is also believed that worshipping the sphatik shila can help in the removal of obstacles and negative energies, and can bring peace and prosperity to one's life. Many pilgrims visit Sphatik Shila to offer prayers and perform rituals such as the lighting of lamps and the recitation of mantras. It is also considered auspicious to take a dip in the nearby Mandakini river before visiting the Sphatik Shila. Overall, the Sphatik Shila holds a significant place in Hindu mythology and is considered a sacred site for spiritual seekers and devotees alike.

Indra's son jayant came as crow and injured her leg. Ram got very angry and wanted to kill him. Jayant could not get releif from anywhere. Ultimately he came back to Ram who took one eye. It is said from that day onwards that crows do not have both eyes.

A very spritual place . Peaceful place. I wanted to sit there for sometime and to remember lord Rama but that place was so much dirty that I could not force my self to sit there for longer duration. There are also some people at the entrance of this place which takes entry fee in the name of MP Tourism, but I doubt their genuineness, so be aware of such people. There are also too much monkeys in this place. So please be alert , especially if you have children with yourself.

Sphatik Shila is a place with two massive rocks which are believed to have the footprints of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Sphatik Shila literally means crystal rock and is located amidst dense forests, close to Janki Kund on the banks of river Mandakini.

Place is not maintained properly. It is surrounded by greedy priest who are always asking for money. Whenever you are entering this place they are asking to pay for parking with very poor services and no one to guide you for parking. Very filthy place, roads are full of potholes. There are so many pilgrims coming all round the year still this place is not maintained.
