Lord Ram stayed here for 11 years during his 14 years of exile, then this land will remain pure for all eternity. After coming here, all the movement of the inner self is over as if Lord Rama himself is with you while circling around here today.Believe me the plan to celebrate my new year was something else and God called me here and as soon as the new energy has come here.

Chitrakoot have many religious places of interest like Kamadgiri which in Sanskrit means the mountain that fulfils all desires. Ram Ghat, on the banks of the Mandakini River with its temples. Sati Anusuya Ashram that are popular religious places of interest. For visiting natural creations, one must visit the Pramod Van and Dharkundi Ashram. Janaki Kund, believed to be the bathing place of Sita, is on the Mandakini River and has clear blue water. Sphatik Shila are prominent tourist attractions as they are believed to be the places where Lord Ram and his wife, Sita stayed. There is a cavern known as Gupt Godavari where the Godavari River flows over rocks set deep inside the cave and the river disappears inside another cave.

It is the centre for pilgrimage coming to chitrakoot. Kamtanath swamy temple is one of the important and famous places in char dham. After the holy darshan of kamtanath swamy, there is a hill called ' Kamadgiri' in which the temple of swamy kamtanath is situated, the people perform the circumbulation ( parikrama) of the hill kamadgiri. The word kamadgiri is derived from sanskrit language which means the hill that fulfill the wishes. So the real meaning of the word is icchaon ko poora krne wala paravat. The temple is crowded all the time but in amavasya. The crowd of pilgrimage is terribly wast. People strart to come there at night so that till morning they could perform their pooja archna and darshan of swamy kamatanath.

Chitrakoot is a famous pilgrimage center. It is a place of religious, cultural, historical, and archaeological importance. Kamadgiri is the main holy place of Chitrakoot Dham. The Sanskrit word ‘Kamadgiri’ means the mountain which fulfills all the wishes and desires. There is a pilgrimage path around the hill which is about 5 Km long. A large number of small temples are there on the Parikrama Path(pilgrimage path). A lot of greenery throughout the year. And the most important thing is a lot of monkeys too. So be careful. Overall this is a wonderful place especially if you visit with your family & friends. I had a great experience.

It was a great trip. Did 5 kms parikrama. If you are going with your kid or old aged people then don't worry, we have wheelchair facility with guide in 150rs. Remember to see kamta nath in temple because people get confused with ram darbar.... When you enter into the temple, if you look straight that is not kamta nath. Kamta nath is in actual sitting in left room.

It is the main temple in Chitrakoot. When you visit Chitrakoot it is compulsory to take the blessings of kamata nath. It is situated in Parikrama marg. Most of the devotees starts Parikrama from this temple and and finish here . After taking bath in Mandakini Ganga devotees comes here for Parikrama. All the time Auto is available inside the Chitrakoot but during amavasya there are so many devotees here so sometimes auto is not allowed few places . Kamadgiri is a verdant, lush hill that is known as the heart of Chitrakoot. It is also known as the original Chitrakoot, and is believed to be the abode of Goddess Sita, Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana. There are several temples which lay on the 5-km-path of the parikrama. On this path pilgrims perform a ritual circumambulation of the hill for divine blessings. One of the most important temples is Shri Kamatanath. As devotees make their way around the hill, they sing hymns and chant, as the fragrance of incense permeates the air, lending an otherworldly feel to the ritual. Visitors are recommended to finish their parikrama in the morning, as the afternoon can get quite hot, making the journey uncomfortable. If you get hungry, there are plenty of shops selling all kinds of snacks along the way. If you have any other questions or query you may ask here . Jai shri Sitaram Thank you for reading my reviews. …🙏🏻

This is the main temple of Chitrakoot. This temple is about 2.5 less away from Ramghat. This temple has to be circumambulated for 5 km. Parikrama has to be done with bare feet and on foot.

Kamadgiri Hill is one of the most revered places in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Pilgrims to this religious site often perform a circumambulation to receive blessings. Situated in the southern part of the state, it is the holiest place in Chitrakoot Dham. Like most of the religious places in India, it is associated with several mythological legends. It is a Sanskrit word which means "one that fulfills all desires". There is a pilgrimage path enveloping this hill, whose distance is about 5 km approx. Devotees believe that all the teerthas, or, holy places, lie along the religious route. The principal deity of Chitrakoot is Lord Kamtanath. There are many temples dedicated to Lord Kamtanath apart from the main temple. Several mythological legends revolve around this temple. According to one of them, the Kamadgiri Mountain is accorded the highest importance because it was here that Lord Brahma performed the first yagna before the creation of life (shristi). According to various mythological sources, this was the place where Lord Rama and Goddess Sita spend twelve years of their exile. Tourists who have visited this popular tourist destination in Uttar Pradesh say that it exudes a spiritual aura. A large part of this can also be attributed to the amazing landscape of this place, which is characterized by dense forests and vegetation. Devotees visiting Kamadgiri, which is counted among the popular tourist attractions in Uttar Pradesh, often walk barefoot around this hill. Doing so is believed to bring about good luck and wash away one’s sins. According to historical sources, the passage which is used for circumambulation was constructed by Bundelkhand kings. Performing the parikrama takes devotees around three to four hours. Apart from the religious significance which this place holds, it is also famous for its serenity and ambiance. If you want to spend a day in complete peace and meditation, then you should visit this religious destination in Chitrakoot.

This temple is too much religious in our hindu dharma, it's history is connected from the treta yuga, when the lord Rama goes for the vanwaas then the they spends his 11yearhere. When you go the the temple first you have to go for parikrama 5 km. Of Shri kamtanath temple then make your worship... Have a good day dear...😊

Kamadgiri is the main holy place of Chitrakoot Dham . The Sanskrit word ‘Kamadgiri’ means the mountain which fulfills all the wishes and desires. The place is believed to have been the abode of Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman during their exile. Lord Kamtanath, another of His names, is the Ishta Deva principal deity not only of Kamadgiri Parvat but of the whole of Chitrakoot. The religious-minded believe that all the holy places (i.e. teerthas) are in the Parikrama or its pilgrimage-path. The pilgrimage path around this hill is about 5 Km long. There are a large number of temples in the Parikrama Path. Except during the summers, the place remains green throughout the year and appears like a bow seen from any place in Chitrakoot.

This temple and parikrama around the kamadgiri mountain has their own importance. If you visit chitrakoot this is a must. Parikrama is around 5 kms and it's built around the mountain on flat ground, you don't have to trek.
