I visited Miami oldest house, the Wagner Homestead, built in 1855. I felt like Laura Ingalls from "Little House on the Prairie!"

Peaceful, clean, and a place to just relax and people watch. Grab a coffee from one of the nearby eateries and hang out at this park for a while. A nice breeze on a warm day.

I have leaved in Miami for the past 30 years and it is the first time I heard of the Miami Riverday Festival. I went with a friend and it was fun, entertaining and free! I wish there where more things like this in Miami this days.

In the early sixties, I was fortunate to live in the home of Miami's early Mayor Lummus, facing the park on NW North River Drive, now demolished. It was a beautiful structure, and had a basement. The apartment next door was occupied by its owner, Elizabeth Lummus Loomis, a gracious lady.

I visit the very historic lummus park from time to time and come across the same staff all the time. The staff that make the park a great experience when I go are Ozzy, Stephanie and Roberto (the park manager). The staff are very knowledgeable, welcoming and very polite. Thank you to those mentioned park staff for making and allowing me to enjoy lummus park.

The problem with this park is that basketball court are missing their hoops, but there is a lot of area to do exercise or other activities not involving much equipment.

The park is very tiny. There were two buildings with no signs to explain. I don’t think it’s worth the drive.

Its beautiful and intimate. The park has a tour of 3 houses that were previously used back in times of slavery (onsite). You can do the tour and I believe its free. Its small park and next door you have the Police Departments Equestrian Center. Some times in the day you can see how they train and care for the horses. I also love that its close to the river which connects to Bayside.
