Black Brick Midtown Chinese Restaurant, Miami, is not only ridiculously EXPENSIVE, especially for what they give you, but, the food is AWFUL!!! It is an ABSOLUTE waste of time if you want good Chinese food; I DO NOT recommend it (save your money and time). Besides, the chef (or cook on duty) is arrogant and ill-tempered. On a positive note: the waitress was friendly and polite; it is only because of her cordiality that I even rate this restaurant because it, otherwise, wouldn't even get ONE STAR. My hat's off to the waitress who made the night at least salvageable.

We were visiting from Minneapolis and it was my birthday, so this was my pick for dinner. This restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive Inns, and Dives and looked amazing. Instead, it was incredibly disappointing. It should have been a clue when this place was completely empty, while the other restaurants we passed on Midtown were busy. When we walked in, the staff was less than enthused, we had to ask if we just pick a table or....? We picked a table with menus and water brought over. We weren't asked if we had questions about the menu or if we were celebrating anything. This is typically standard when we've dined out elsewhere. Decided to try the appetizer sampler and char siu bao. The food was good, but not amazing. It was almost $70 for an egg roll, 2 chicken wings, 2 lamb chops, 3 pork ribs, and 2 pork buns. I had to ask the waitress for a refill on my water, as she never came back to the table once the food came out, but instead, sat at the table next to us while on her phone. FYI, an automatic "service charge" of 20% is added to the bill. We left and happened to find a food truck festival on the way back to the hotel. I wish we would've found that first.

Go to Tap 42 instead!!!! My food was bad the service was bad. We order our dinner and we're encouraged by the waiter Juan L. to order an appetizer since it would be about "25 minutes" before our order would come out. So we ordered some eggrolls, before we could start the eggrolls my dinner was brought to the table. My friends food was not, I asked what happened to "25 minutes", he replied the cook is faster than the others. 10-12 minutes later, my friends food was still not brought out. At one point the waiter asked "Are you done yet?" Please do not go here.

After having neck surgery December of 2019 in Miami, I had to wait 3 1/2 months to return to Miami Jackson hospital to have my neck brace removed‼️ Once removed and on the way home to Port St. Lucie, one TRIPLE D restaurant was on mind.....BLACK BRICK‼️ Such a different style, taste and vibe‼️ WE loved it‼️ We had Dan Dan noodles 🍜.....GAME OVER‼️ So damn good....Thank you Richard Hales‼️💪🏾💯🍺

Delicious! Large flavor large portions fun atmosphere. Was prepared quickly and loved the dumplings. Highly recommend!

This is fusion Asian food. Not very true to Asian flavours and the hand made noodles, the main reason I have it a shot to begin with, were served dry (no broth). My dish was spicier than other dishes that were marked as "spicy". Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall service was slow.

Wow!!! You MUST try it if you love Chinese. This is no regular joint. The Dim Sum is excellent. Came by because I was walking by and was curious since not many places carry Dim Sum and if they do it isn’t great. Will deff come back and try more on their menu! Delicious! The waiters were amazing as well. Super friendly and very helpful. Just what I love in a place like this!

We find this restaurant after I have search foursquare app on the phone to find out where we can eat a good Chinese food after the visiting of Miami Children's Museum. Interior is kind of interesting, the prices a big high I thinks but the food is tasty. We have tried: steamed shrimp & scallop dim sum (portion has 3 pieces) - really tasty dish; steamed chicken sui mei - kind of weird dish don't really like it; pork cheek pan fried dumplings - ok dish kinda like it; pan fried pork bao bun - mouthwatering dish; halapenjo beef - one of the best I have ever tried, really recommend it. Definitely will be back here again.

Really enjoyed this place. They were the first restaurant I enjoyed a dining experience at during the 50% capacity restrictions. The dining room was really cool being able to see into the kitchen area and it felt like an upscale but relaxed place. I don't know of that makes much sense, but you could tell the food was going to be good. The serving sizes are very generous and you could even share a dish between two people if you can express that amount of will power after first tastes. If you like spicy I highly recommend the Mala Chicken.

Chose to eat at the Blackbrick during our vacation because of Triple D. I was mostly disappointed. Upon entering it smelled, and not from the cuisine. The floors were sticky and dirty. The windows were dirty. The bathroom is dirty and dark. The staff was less than welcoming and doing nothing when we arrived, when obviously, there was plenty of cleaning to be done. The food was alright, but not tasty enough to warrant the cost. In addition, I was put off by the automatic 20% gratuity they add to bill. Something has definitely changed from the episode of Triple D I saw.

Amazing food that's overshadow by price, cleanliness, and quality of service. The good: amazing food. If you find yourself here and like spicy food, the mala chicken and mapo tofu never fail to disappoint The bad: sticky floors and greasy feeling table downgrade the entire experience, but not more so than the subpar service I keep receiving. Been here twice already and the service was lackluster both times. Waitress takes a long time to acknowledge anyone walking in the front door. Also really slow service--asked to order an extra bowl of rice but it didn't even arrive until after we had already finished our meal and at that point, just sent it back. Always have to chase after the waitress as they always had their back turned to us. Tried to get a straw for 10 minutes and just ended up walking up to the counter and grabbing one myself. The price is also pretty bad. I get it's in a upscale and bustling area, but Chinese food is known for being delicious, quick, and affordable. $31 for a plate of curry noodles isn't a good value. Hope this place fixed their service because it has potential to be a hidden gem from the food, but for now is a disappointment.

The place was decent and the waiter was great, but the food was less than we expected from the reviews. We tried a few different things because we hadn’t been there before, but nothing was really exquisite

What can I say? I love to hate this place. The food is very overpriced, but with that in mind its something that I crave at times. Unfortunately, the absolute inept management of the restaurant makes this already unreasonable proposition not work. Here I am, having paid more than $100 for my food that was supposed to be here an hour ago, but no one at the restaurant answered, nor their payment processor. This is a perfect example of why you use door dash and not the restaurant's website. Not the first time this has happened. So, if you are willing to flip a coin on whether you will get food and be billed regardless, this is a great choice.

Overall good meal. It is located in the heart of midtown, and has outdoor seating available. They have great cocktails with a daily rotating menu and a narrowed menu that specialized on a true Chinese experience. My favorite dishes were the general tso chicken, the chicken wings and bok choy.

The food was not amazing for the mediocre price of $29 and top 20 percent tip which is mandatory. I will recommend this place or will go back . Too greedy and the food is not all that .

I used to love this place but it really went down bad. I had the most awful experience. I have had better quality Chinese food at a sketchy cheap place than this expensive place. The fried rice was literally rice green beans and shrimp l. Unflavored yuck! Also they charge me $5 for fried rice on top of the $29 fried rice! Make it make sense. 20% automatic seevice fee on mediocre service. My point is DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

I used to love this place so much. Before the pandemic, they had servers who would provide real steps of service and were knowledgeable. The food was always impeccable. But I’ve been twice since then and it’s sad to see the changes. The service was nonexistent (then again, it was one poor girl by herself, and it’s pretty clear she is mostly a to-go clerk) the spring rolls were burnt, the bao were almost empty inside. The flank steak was drowned in sauce, soggy, and missing the usual chilies. Honestly so sad to see this place go this way.

I enjoy the food, and used to have it delivered, but then they stopped allowing comments on delivery platforms' orders, so I can't request omitting things I don't enjoy. Maybe the chef resents having to make such modifications: in any case, it's your call whether to allow, but you lost one customer to it, for what that's worth. If you don't want a bunch of substitution requests, you could use checkboxes to allow customers to take ingredients out.

Excellent food on a Sunday night! In town for a concert. Ordered appetizers, noodles, rice, chicken and flank steak dishes for a party of four. Accommodated dietary allergies. Everything was delicious, flavor profiles were rich and layered. Service was friendly and on point. Great experience and can’t wait to return.

👍👍 Second time coming to this grand place. Let me just say it does not disappoint. My girlfriend treated me to brunch for my birthday and I suggested coming here. Wow, what an amazing experience. We got here around 10:30am and got to sit down right away. Our waitress was the best. She suggested the mim...
