The first time I went it was a great experience. Service and my food was amazing. Unfortunately, it won't always be like that. Yesterday my waiter, Tyrese, was courteous, attentive, and informative. He was 10/10 wonderful, but my food wasn't the greatest. Both of our plates were cold, seems that the food was ready but stayed there for a while. Tyrese heated it up, but it definitely wasn't the same.

My partner and I were visiting Miami and I was excited to check out Mignonette as it has notoriety with trusted food media and a colleague told me it was great. Overall, the service was just okay. When we asked what oysters they had, the waitress immediately said, “let me just bring you 3 of my favorite.” I think this is careless and rushed way to get an order and avoid telling us about the oysters origin, taste profiles, etc. We were tired so we acquiesced. Here favorites came and they were not shucked properly. A correctly shucked oyster is no longer attached to the shell it is served in, but we had to detach at least a couple of the six ourselves. I also took one down with quite a bit of sea sediment and picked a visible shell or rock out of my mouth. Our appetizers came out before our oysters, which felt like a strange serving order, but now I’m just being nit picky. The reason for this review is because both the scallops and the octopus were overcooked. My octopus was charred to the point of the last 2-3 bite being inedible (1/3 of a small portion to begin with). The restaurant was also pretty quiet as it was a Thursday so I have no good explanation for why more care wasn’t taken in offering us a good experience. I would not return and would chock the hype up to great plating, a decent wine list and ambiance.

What a fantastic spot! After passing by many many times we finally stopped. Absolutely incredible. The menu is simple seafood straightforward, the wine selection is perfectly done, is small selection but everything will paired with what you eat from the menu. Our server Ashley guided us through our and gave us the specials and favorites, very knowledgeable and gave us great wine recommendations. Everything was perfectly prepared and cooked. The highlight of the day was the scallops, we haven’t had such a great dish in a while, perfectly seared. Was a great experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended

The fried oysters were seasoned so well!! They were delicious! The lobster was good, but I wish it was served warmer. The cheesecake was decent. My friends loved their fish. Seasoned to perfection was their comment. I also liked ny crabcake. The cornbread was very good, too. I would definitely give this place another try.

Our first Miami Spice restaurant! $60 for an app, entree, and dessert. This restaurant reminds me of New Orleans. The decoration is minimalist with a New Orleans flair and it is well done! I felt relaxed here. The music was great…Haitian jazz to beasty boys..super fun. Our server, Lester, shared the menu with us, asked if anyone had allergies or questions. He gave us the perfect amount of time to look at the menu and we never felt rushed. The crispy black fish with lump crab, olives and beans was soooo good. They were very generous with the lump crab meat and I really appreciated that! The fish and sauce with a nice roux type gravy..was not overly salty. I loved that none of the dishes felt overly salty. Another thing I found super interesting were the sides they offered. The sides offered with the entrees are unique and not the standard steamed veggie or fried potatoes. The pairings are unique and if you didn’t want them, you can actually request to change out your sides to some on the actual sides menu. I thought that was a nice touch and something you don’t see very often. Feedback on the desert is that the bread pudding flavor has depth and layers of flavor but I found it to be incredibly sweet. Tone down the sweetness a little, and it would be perfect. As a New Orleans native, I was impressed with their Cajun influences. Sitting across from the cemetery, I felt just like I was at home in NOLA. 😂 I can’t wait to come back and try gumbo one night. Lester told me the roux is brown so you know that’s a good sign! Mignonette, I am so excited to get some New Orleans seafood in Miami. Our family will certainly be back!

The octopus 🐙 app was the best. Definitely coming back for this. We tried the oysters flight🦪 the chargrilled ones were our favorite. Next time we’ll just get those. The crispy skin snapper was good. I’ll try something else next time. The bread pudding for dessert, was worth saving room for Wine - extravagant Sancerre’Les Baronnes’ by Henri Bourgeois - was delicious Ice tea - they charge you per cup, no refills Parking available behind the restaurant by the tennis courts.

I’ve been here a few times before, but just visited recently for Miami Spice. The value was unbeatable and each of the dishes we tried were fantastic. The crab cake was unique with a great texture and sauce. We tried two fish entrees that were both cooked perfectly and paired with delicious sides. And of course, the oysters were fab. We were also impressed with the key lime pie and bread pudding! They clearly pay great attention to detail right down to the wine recommendation from our server.

Amazing Friday dinner experience. The food was so good, and I loved the menu variety. Our server was so nice and funny, and gave really good recommendations. His timing was perfect all night. We loved chatting with him. (I wish I could remember his name 😩 I just remember that he was from Algeria!) The oyster selection was great, we enjoyed all of them and the variety. The wine I chose was super yummy, and the desserts were insanely good. We couldn’t decide between two desserts, so they brought us the second one we didn’t select on the house, along with a candle in the other for my birthday. Big thanks to our server and the lovely hostess who helped make my birthday so special! We can’t wait to come back.

If it’s an oyster place, don’t try to eat something else. We had dinner and it was really bad, I couldn’t eat anything. Crudo was with warm fish, octopus was burned and chewy. For the entree, I ate lobster tails (super salty and uncooked) and polenta with lumps inside (you should stir it when you cook, maybe they don’t know that).

We were in good company so I forgot to take photos of anything after the appetizers. The lobster deviled eggs were well seasoned, smooth eggs with healthy portions of fresh lobster meat on each egg. We opted for a full variety of each oyster for the day. Obviously they vary daily but the great white was the table favorite. We also had the filet mignon, which was cooked to order and topped with a good demi glaze. The red fish was touted as the best choice on the menu. It was good, especially when mixed with the rice below. But we were slightly disappointed after having such high praise for it.

Oysters were amazing, the halibut and the lobster roll very basic, they were missing flavor. Just look at the lobster roll pic... very disappointing.

We visited for Miami Spice and had a wonderful experience! Our server, Luis, was patient with us not knowing what to order and made great recommendations. We opted for a bottle of wine, which is definitely worth it instead of paying for individual glasses. The chargrilled oysters are divine as well as the lobster deviled eggs. The red fish is delicious, though the rice was a bit soggy for my liking. Finally, the butterscotch bread pudding is amazing! Come with an appetite, you will not be disappointed.

Started off on a bad note. We went for Happy Hour. HH is only available at the bar. Limited seating. The rest of our experience was wonderful. Food was excellent. Service was superb. Lester our waiter handled my wife's special requests perfectly. U can't find a nicer restaurant within 100 miles. Don't miss this gem. Bill

Amazing overall, we came to try the Miami Spice Menu and all was beyond our expectations. Service, and food were out of this world. Octopus perfect, Oyster super fresh, seafood and steak on point. A MUST try us the bread budding! All 100%!

Absolutely lovely staff and restaurant, delicious food! I got the lobster deviled eggs, the red fish, and the butterscotch bread pudding, my husband got the oyster sampler, the black grouper, and the carrot cake. We forgot to take pictures of our entrees or the dessert, everything was so delicious! We love coming to Miami for our anniversary, and we'll be coming back to Mignonette Downtown next year. Shout out to our server, Carmen, who was very attentive and made us feel very welcome.

Went for Miami Spice after reading about it and it didn’t disappoint. Made reservations and despite arriving about 20 mins early, we were quickly sat at a table near the window. One of the best Miami Spice menus I’ve come across. Aside from 4-5 dishes in the appetizer section, the entire menu is at your disposal. $60 for a 3-course meal that would ordinarily run you over $100. Food was delicious! Atmosphere was laid back and chill. The service was prompt. Will definitely be going back.

Great Miami Spice deal - you can pick the appetizer and entree from the main menu. The food was excellent. I had octopus as appetizer, 2 lobster tails with sweet potato wedges & polenta sides, and the bread pudding. Tried my friend's appetizer which was the diver scallop. All was excellent. Great service as well.

Definitely the freshest and most delicious oysters in Miami. If you love oysters and lobster roll; look no further, this is the place to go. Plenty of parking available nearby. I recommend the flight of oysters for $46 that includes awesome sampling of different types

Surprisingly thought the steak was better than the fish, which was a bit dry/overcooked but saved by the lentils. Steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Hands down best key lime pie in Miami.

I came here for Miami Spice. I'm happy I did! Lester the waiter was great! I had a evening show that started exactly an hour after I sat down in a seat at the booth and don't have time to take many pictures because of it. I told Lester I had on 30-40 minutes to wait and eat. Lester made it happen. I ate from the Miami Spice menu and choose the clam as appetizer. My entree and especially my bread budding was delicious.

Secret gem of Miami! Freshest oysters that change daily, scallop app with polenta and mushrooms is to die for. Red fish with side of potato chips and artichokes is a must. Fish is fresh, crispy and potatoes with old bay are addictive. Lobster tails are sweet, the rice is a surprising accompaniment.
