Michaels Genuine food and drink, it’s one of my favorites restaurant in Miami Design District, it’s been there since 2007 and the quality has always been outstanding. Great menu with delicious food and best variety of beer in town. Great wine list for the lovers also. I definitely recommend this place, and if you only have one night to visit Design District, choose this place to dinner. My special thanks to Jennifer!!!!

Excellent food in a delightful indoor/outdoor setting in the heart of the Design District, Michael’s will not disappoint. The pizza is exceptional, and most dishes use farm fresh ingredients.

Locally sourced comfort food at it's best! This was our first time returning to Michael's Genuine since it's remodeling and the new atmosphere (both inside and outside) perfectly fits the Design District. Whether you choose from their Bites, Small, Medium or Mains (Entrées) part of the menu, you won't be disappointed. I especially love how they always incorporate seasonal fruits in their dishes. Tonight's dinner run down was... MGFD Ceviche (Raw Bar), Snails and Assorted Lettuce (Small Plates), Crispy Duck Confit (Medium Plates) and Crispy Lechón (Main). As good as the duck was, we missed their Crispy Pork Belly (always recommended). If you're a Sticky Toffee Pudding fan, definitely try theirs!! It was served with Ginger ice cream and very delicious. MGFD will see us again! ✅ Comfort Food ✅ Cocktails ✅ Friendly service ✅ Reservations recommended

Hands down the best brunch in Miami. I’ve been going here a long time for brunch lunch and dinner. I’m upset at myself for not having reviewed it earlier as every time we go it is 5 stars. While I love all their meals, there is no better place to brunch in Miami than Michael’s. The value price point is unbelievable for the quality of the food. Great for groups. Every item is delicious. Will continue going back and bringing friends every time they come visit Miami. It’s a must stop alongside Joe’s & Versailles. Thank you to Mr Schwarz and his team for elevating Miami’s food scene when they opened this gem back in 2006.

Busy design district restaurant serving mainly American style dishes (but elevated!) makes this gem a "can't miss spot"! If you are lucky, grab an outdoor table-great people watching in Miami's upscale shopping district. Steaks, fish, pizza, pasta and chicken dishes with an upscale flair to go with the surrounding environment. My favorite pastrami sandwich in Miami. There will be subsequent return visits!!

I haven't returned after all the remodeling until a few days ago. The place looks fantastic. The food? NEVER DISAPPOINTS! That Black Truffle Pizza is absolutely delicious. Service at the bar? Excellent! UPDATE: After another visit, I stand by me review. NEVER DISAPPOINTS! The Truffle Pizza was even better this time and the Pork Belly? THE STAR!!! This time we also tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ginger Ice Cream... DA BOMB! UPDATE II: Consistency is their language! Food and service remain spotless.

Relaxing lunch , beautiful location and warm welcoming staff. Octopus app is excellent, like a spicy BBQ, must try.

This restaurant is in the Michelin guide so we had to visit and it did not disappoint. We chose the Genuine Experience, you get 12 dishes for $79 a person and it’s totally worth it! But please come hungry because it’s a lot of food!! Everything was delicious ✅✅

Brunch on Sundays! The breakfast pizza is incredible and so is the french toast! Avocado toast was bland but plated beautifully. Attentive staff kept us cool by constantly refilling our waters and adjusting the fans outside. They were knowledgeable about the menu and inquired about food allergies. The food came out hot and fast. This restaurant has an upscale neighborhood vibe, it’s vibrant and busy with tons of designer shops nearby. All the plates around us looked delicious. Definitely recommend! Don’t forget to make reservations.

We went to Michael's Genuine for brunch. Honestly, considering it's a Michelin star restaurant, we were disappointed. Most of the food was okay. Just okay. The prices were too high for what you got. I got pig's ears and octopus tacos. The ears were burnt, and regular pork rinds would taste just as good and cost much less. The tacos tasted like tacos. The octopus was lost in the spices. My wife's quiche was burnt on the bottom, and the rest was flavorless. Also, they got our reservation wrong and since they were busy, they literally ran us out almost as soon as we were done. I won't be going back any time soon.

Had a delicious dinner at this Miami classic! Menu has small, medium, and entree plates, which I have mixed feelings about. Tried stone crab for the first time, and it was tasty. Loved the presentation and sauces. Cocktails were pricey.

4.8 | brilliant restaurant. I stopped in during Art Basel to grab some good food from a great Miami restaurant and they did not disappoint. I am a big foodie so I like to travel and plan where I want to eat, however, this one was on a whim and I’m so glad I didn’t let the initial delay stop me. they are upscale. they know it, which may be some of the initial off-put with some servers. the server I had turned out to be great. try to give people in the service industry some grace because they deal with so much personalities both internally and externally all day. she ended up recommending the wood roasted octopus, after sharing that the octopus seemed to be popular. I also ordered her fave dessert and she lit up. it was the goat cheese tart. I also started with the bone marrow which I would a hundred percent recommend. this place is definitely worth coming back to. a great Miami dining experience. I ordered - Bone Marrow 5/5 what a satisfying dish. it comes with two meaty bone marrow pieces, and a healthy portion of toast. the toppings included a nice spicy fresh pepper and a refreshing citrus like flavour I couldn’t quite make out. it was delicious. one of my bone marrow pieces was really hearty, so I had a generous helping on my toast. - Wood Roasted Octopus 4/5 this was fantastic. the flavour is very bold, so I think it was a bit of an initial shock, but as I settled into it with the crema, and radish, it was very pleasurable. I would still want some more of that smokiness to come through, versus the sauce, but the texture of the octopus was to die for. -Goat Cheese Tart 4.5/5 the citrus paired with the creaminess of the goat cheese was the perfect combo. I enjoyed mine greatly. I would have just added a drizzle of raw honey or mild molasses to add a little bit of an added sweetness. great dessert overall. I enjoyed mine with a lovely cappuccino. oh! I ordered the literally good as a drink, and that it was. the turmeric added a refreshing finish with the mezcal.

I always say that everything depends on the expectation you have when going somewhere, in my case it wasn't the best experience even though this place has great popularity and it's pricey. My dinner was perfectly cooked but tasteless. The service was a bit slow, even though it wasn't crowded.

Amazing! We did the stracciatella and the tomatoes were to die for, so was the cheese itself. The Fresh as a Cucumber drink was tasty, light, and refreshing. I got the pan roasted poluet 1/2 chicken which was juicy and cooked to perfection. My friend got the grouper entree and he expressed his love with every bite. Danilo was our waiter, he was very knowledgeable. He gave us recommendations and definitely took care of us!!

A Miami institution, Chef Michael Schwartz's flagship location in the Miami design district has been on the "list" for a while. Stars (and covid) finally aligned and allowed for a visit by this confirmed MF'R (Miami for a reason only..😆). Overall did not disappoint, beautiful location with pandemic appropriate precautions. Service was a bit rocky at the start, however our server warmed up as the evening wore on. Drinks were acceptable, if a bit tardy from a swamped Friday night service bar. Food wise the Stracciatelle apptz (below) was outstanding! Fresh yellow and red heirloom 🍅 with properly salted cheese was heavenly. Mains were hit and miss, companions pan roasted chicken was juicy and flavorful, my oven roasted queen snapper was over and lacked seasoning. 🤔. The concept and components on my dish were well thought out and should have melded well, but the execution was lacking. Won't stop me from visiting in the future. If you found this review helpful please 👍🏻 it. Thx!

These guys gave me pure racist vibe. I was there with my family and they acted like there was no seats available for the whole night. I went on OpenTable and found a table immediately. And within 5 min they found a table for me. The hostess which was a young dark-skinned Dominican and she was worst than the white girl. Actually the whole design district is giving me racist vibe now.

We’ve been waiting for a long time to try this place! Oh boy, I so regret waiting that long. The outdoor/indoor vibe is fitting for Miami Design District. The food is beyond amazing! We started with the lamb and eggplant with zaatar pita, that was by far some of the best dishes I’ve had in my life, just divine! The tin sardines were very closed second to the lamb dish. We also had braised daikon, it was well put together dish for a vegetable. Then comes the burger, yes the famous burger! It was cooked to perfection and meat to bun ratio was just write. Ah I just can’t wait to be back and try all other dishes. Service was outstanding and very thoughtful. One suggestion: a must make reservations ahead of time, esp on the weekends. We were glad we booked ahead as I saw so many folks turned away. A must try in Miami Design District!

The food is amazing. The pork belly was my favorite appetizer and the truffle pizza was delicious. The service was great. Worth the money.

We had a disappointing dinner. First off, the service left something to be desired. We ordered oysters along with our spice dinner. The fried appetizers came out first and then the oysters came out second. That was very strange. The portion sizes of the spice menu items were made for ants. I understand that spice is a “deal”, but come on. The food itself was just OK. The tuna croquettes tasted like fried tuna fish. The feta was probably the best item of the night though could have used some dipping bread. Lechon and fish had good flavors but were small and could have benefited from additional sides. I’ve heard so many good things about this place and the dinner definitely didn’t live up to them. Maybe the biggest problem is my expectations were too high based on what I’ve heard about this place.

Fantastic food, atmosphere, and service. Everything about my vacation here has been absolutely flawless and delightful. The atmosphere and service were incredible, and the views of the city lights left me awestruck. It's an opulent place to visit. The cuisine is excellent, and it is all reasonably priced. I've been back several times and will continue to do so!

Michael’s is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants. From the service, to the meals. It’s always an incredible experience. Todays visit topped it for us. I reached out via email earlier this week to see if they’d be able to help accommodate a special request. Not only did Joel agree, but the execution from Chef Dillion was absolutely outstanding. Thank you for continuing to be incredible, and for making this special place, special for one of my little ones.

One of the best in Miami. In Michael’s they are consistent with their excellence, always have excellent, tasty, fresh, quality food; excellent service and the atmosphere is always amazing. You can’t go wrong here.

I had the opportunity to enjoy Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink during Miami Spice/Restaurant Month with some girlfriends and it was truly divine! The waiters were friendly and knowledgeable and the ambience was inviting with comfortable, cushioned booth seats, candlelight, and lush plant decor. I ordered baked scallops, sirloin and tahini cheesecake from the Spice menu and got the wine pairing for each course as well. The scallops were well seasoned and tender paired with sparkling white wine. The sirloin was a little bit fatty but I enjoyed the texture and accompanying horseradish sauce. It was paired with a delicious red blend specially crafted for Michael’s. The combination of chocolate ganache and tahini in the cheesecake was delicious! I also loved the paired dessert wine. We were delighted to receive a complimentary flan which melted in the mouth! I will absolutely be returning for dinner and happy hours 😄

Great atmosphere. You can eat outside too. I sat at the bar and the oysters were great. So was their craft fountain drinks. Decent prices for the design district. Bartender was friendly and good. Definitely will go again.

Went there for lunch with a friend, first time back after the remodel. I had visited before but never was quite wowed with the restaurant, but must say this time it really improved my impresion of it. The renovation looks really nice, kudos to the interior designer. Service was amazing, our server was very kind and funny, and had awesome recommendations. I got the wood fired octopus which was very small but incredibly tasty. Had the french fries on the side, which were OK. My friend had the pan roasted Poulet 1/2 chicken, I had a taste of it and must say it was amazing. Perfectly crunchy and a good size entree. On my next visit I will definitely get this plate for myself. Recommend this place for a nice girls lunch or business meal as it has a relaxed but upscale vibe.

We came for Brunch on a Sunday. Lots of very young kids. Love the Fried Hominy and Marinated Olives Appetizers. Two of us had the Apple and Fennel Salad. Mom had the Chicken Salad on a Croissant. All of the food was delicious. The salad and Chicken Salad were spectacular. The Fluffernutter Dessert was Amazing. Service was very good. Prices seem absurd for most items, but I don't live in Miami. We'll come again.

Just went to MG for brunch with my wife to celebrate our anniversary and every bite was perfection. The kimchi eggs Benedict was a winner. Loved the shrimp and grits. The flavors of the ceviche are outstanding. Staff not a flaw. Wish I could eat there more often. Love love love.

Phenomenal brunch and genuine service. We ordered 3 small plates to share, all very flavorful and unique. Croque madame was divine. Everybody working there was super friendly and helpful from the hostess who shifted around tables for us to the server who gave great recommendations and checked on us regularly, even though it was pretty busy. Outdoor seating completely covered from the rain with a nice breeze and pleasant ambiance. Valet is reasonable as well which was great since it was raining and my mom can’t walk too far.

The location is convenient in the design district and it’s a pretty busy establishment. The food was good but the lobster tostada was not worth $36 at all- it’s was only one shell of taco & a little lobster Burger was supposed to be medium but was overcooked The drinks however were great and the service was good

I was feeling lonely at home a week ago, so I requested my cousin to accompany me to your restaurant. We were both pleased and delighted with the food and service you provided. Your waitresses have been excellent. I couldn't have asked for more of you. You're still providing fantastic service! Thank you for the delicious food!

This eatery is extraordinary! I was truly happy that I went here to commend my birthday. The spot looked so heartfelt and just so great. The staff additionally gave me a truly incredible and extra-exceptional assistance. All of the staff sang me a glad birthday, which I truly appreciated to such an extent. On account of everybody here! It was for sure the best birthday festivity of mine. Much thanks!

We had the most delicious meal! We sat outside and the experience was amazing. The service was very good and our waitress (Liam) was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes & drinks, all of his recommendations were to our liking! The food was absolutely Amazing. Highly recommended!! We will be back again. Little tip for the dinner menu: order a few of the small and medium dishes to share!

We went for lunch and ordered an appetizer and two entrees. Due to it being closer to the end of lunch, I wasn’t able to order what I originally wanted because they only had one available. We had the crispy pork belly as an appetizer. It was really flavorful and the kimchi had just the right hint of heat. My friend ordered the wild mushroom panini w/ a small salad (this is what I originally wanted) and I settled for the house smoked bacon cheddar burger w/ fries. The wild mushroom panini was huge and she said it was delicious. She was able to take half of it home for dinner. My house smoked bacon cheddar burger was extremely greasy. It had two nice sized strips of bacon but the burger’s flavor wasn’t anything to brag about especially for the price. The overall ambience of the outdoor seating was very comfortable and pleasant to eat in.
