This is by far one of the best meals We ever had in Miami! Mind-blowing! Now I understand the Michelin Star!! Delicious, exquisite, fresh, and innovative!!!Itamae is located in the Miami Design District's Palm Court and offers a combination of Peruvian-Japanese food called Nikkei. We were promptly greeted and seated at a table outside, where we enjoyed the views of the lovely Design District Court. We ordered ceviche traditional, tiradito apaltado, pulpo al olivo, sancho roll, Kirby's dream land roll and lost in translation roll. Everything was incredible, The tiradito, the ceviche, and the octopus were unbelievably good!! So fresh, with so much flavor! Spectacular!! The rolls were also amazing! Especially Sancho's role! But I would order all of them in a flash again and again! So well prepared, perfectly well cook sushi rice, fresh ingredients and so flavorful! Our amazing waiter recommended that we should try the gremolata as dessert. Is guanabana ice with vanilla and white chocolate cream with a little bit of olive oil. It's strange to have olive oil in a desert but it works! It's really good and very refreshing, especially with the hot weather! We will certainly come back!

Great innovative menu with a unusual mix of Peruvian traditional Cuisine and Japanese food. Small indoor bar intimate bar sitting or outdoor, partially covered tables. Very helpful staff. Great service. Limited soft drink menu. Decent wine ans sake list. No cocktails available. A well-worth dining experience while in Miami in the heart of Miami Design District near all the best shopping available

I’m so thrilled to find this gem in Miami. The dishes we tried were each unique, interesting, one of a kind flavors. The service was lovely and our server and management made us feel comfortable and right at home. This feels like one of those places you simply sit back and let the kitchen do its thing—everything we tried (wine included) was a hit.

Amazing menu and food! My girlfriend and I sampled the menu from start to finish and everything was impeccably executed. The wine and apéritif selection is also top notch and features organic, biodynamic, and off the beaten path producers that pairs perfectly with the menu. The service was also as good as it gets. Chef Chang is a very nice and personable man who took the time out to talk to us while we dined at the chef’s counter. His passion for his cooking truly shows. Itamae was worth the visit 10x over!

Best restaurant in Miami ! Came across this spot on a blog and it was so worth it; we came back the next day to try different dishes. They offer a Peruvian-Japanese fusion, the food was fresh and tasted amazing. All the staff was extremely nice and friendly, I can’t recommend this place enough to everyone in the Miami area. Best ceviche, tiraditos and Bañaditos and rolls I have had in my life. Thanks to the chef and all the staff for making this an amazing experience for us !

Can’t say more good things about Itamae: fresh ingredients, layered flavors, friendly chef/staff, and creative ideas. Been there couple of times and can always find new dishes during every visit. Love their Traditos, Ceviches, salad, fish collar…Everything is good, and each visit is a pleasant journey. :)

If I could give more than 5 stars I’d give it 10-10!! This place was such a wonderful and unique experience. The food was incredible, service was incredible. Overall, such a wonderful experience. Our waitress was extremely kind and helped us through the menu. Best thing we did is pick one dish out of each option. Just to make sure that we get to try everything. Must get dessert after! Sadly it was too good i even forgot to take a picture of it. Dont listen to other reviews saying bad service. We had an amazing waitress and employees were kind and always checked on us.

we had a wonderful and adventurous meal at Itamae. we sit at the Chef’s Counter and we had close interactions with the Chef and the wait staff. The servers were very attentive, professional and knowledgable about the ingredients, the tastes and how they prep the food. We were awed by the contrast of the texture, the freshness of the fish, the surprised sensation of the flavors, and the beautiful presentation. Overall it was a great experience!

This was the best meal I’ve had in Miami! The space is super intimate and authentic, and the staff we so kind and welcoming. The food is really wild, like amazing. Every dish is exciting and unexpected and you feel surprised with every bite. It was really a privilege to eat here!

My partner and I had such a wonderful experience here. The food was incredible & we so appreciated the service. Manny was our waiter and he walked us through the menu and advised us based on our tastes and desires to such a spectacular degree. We went right at 5, when they open, and received really intimate and personal attention from the staff. Manny made what we anticipated to be an intimidating experience feel so comfortable and relaxed. The prices were high but for good reason. Each dish was made with so much love and care. This was a meal I’ll be thinking about for a really long time. They did NOT pressure us into making a review but I feel compelled to based on what a wonderful time we had.

Currently eating at a Nikkei restaurant that ISN'T Itamae and it's making me sad wishing I was at Itamae instead. Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had. Don't even read the menu, just ask them to bring you what they recommend. Everything was phenomenal.

A Gastronomic Delight at Itamae - Unmissable! Itamae, a captivating culinary gem in the heart of Miami, provided an unrivaled Peruvian-Japanese dining experience that my wife and I won't soon forget. Every item on their meticulously crafted menu left us in awe, making it one of those rare establishments where you're tempted to order everything in sight. From the zesty ceviches to the refreshing cucumber salad, every plate was an explosion of unique flavors. However, the pièce de résistance was undoubtedly their selection of Nigiri. We tried each one on offer and each bite left us in a delightful frenzy, a testament to the outstanding skill and creativity infused in each piece. Capping off this splendid feast was the exquisite mango sorbet dessert. Set on a bed of luscious cream, it was a stunning end to a truly phenomenal meal. This restaurant doesn't just serve food, but delivers an experience that I daresay is Michelin-star worthy. While some may be put off by the absence of a traditional liquor option, the extensive range of sake and wine more than compensated for it, ensuring there's something for every discerning drinker. As avid food explorers, my wife and I were thrilled by our experience at Itamae. The fusion of cultures and the spectrum of flavors we encountered have us yearning for a return visit, and we can't wait to share this gastronomic treasure with our friends. In a city teeming with dining options, finding a place that excites and impresses consistently is no easy feat. Itamae manages to do this and more. It's a five-star wonder that should be on every food lover's Miami itinerary.

The perfect place to grab lunch in Design District. Unpretentious, great food quality, interesting dishes, and fun to watch them prepare the food (at the bar inside). So much better than Uchi and half the price. Definitely going back!

Very good service, except for the fact that you have to seat outside and are prone to Miami weather changes. Crowd and music from surrounding places may disturb the experience. Good overall but somewhat overrated. Excellent quality ingredients and presentation but still way too expensive for what it is. Mostly raw fair, with very few exceptions. Desert was disastrous (an understatement)

Innovative while still upholding the essence of Japanese sushi. We were impressed with the food and service. Our only criticism would be the aged tuna tartare. It was too minced that we couldn’t appreciate the aging process that may have went behind it. Also too runny to actually stick in floppy seaweed paper. But at least it still packed a flavor punch! Definitely end your meal with dessert! One of the best desserts I’ve had

Have dined here a few times, and it’s always a treat. The tiraditos are beautiful and experiment with unique flavors, but the real stars and best value items (in my opinion) are the daily catches. Most recently, we had an incredible whole Yellowtail Snapper butterflied and perfectly cooked - for only $42! I was surprised at the price considering how large it was and how expensive the other dishes are relative to their size. Notably, these menu items change frequently based on seasonality, so there’s always something new to try. On ambiance - indoor seating is limited, but there are plenty of tables outdoors shaded by umbrellas and palm trees. It’s a relaxing and enjoyable setting and great for people watching. I’d definitely recommend sitting outside weather permitting.

Great take on Japanese and Perivian fusion. Staff is very friendly and both indoor and outdoor worth seating. I would be cautious with the large portion size. Order less and reorder if needed, ceviches are HUGE! Wine are good although likes US wines.

Plates were delicious and outstandingly done. I didn't like that portions were too small for price though. The best plate was the grilled/cooked lobster. I can also recommend to try the nigiris and oysters.

Excellent restaurant in the Design District. Food is very tasty, service is good. The cebiche is very good as well as the Hamachi tiraditos. The nigiris are good as well. Restaurant is more on the expensive side but it’s among the best in Miami. No wonder it is recognized by Michelin this year

The menu changes frequently but the food was great. We sampled most of the menu & had no regrets. We ordered the tuna sushi twice! It was topped with tiny fried quinoa which gave it the right crunch and texture. The scallops were the perfect bite of food I ever tasted. Can't wait to comeback and try it all over again!

Fun mix of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. Tried the tiradito with blue fin tuna, ceviche with lobster and grouper and a warm maki with scallops, avocado and Parmesan. The last one was the least tasty one, and the ceviche won. Great French white wine and service. Love the location and court yard.

Foodies unite! This is your top tier dining experience in Miami. I’m from Orlando and took a food trip to MIA trying many of the Michelin and James Beard awarded restaurants. By far, Itamae was the most exceptional, my favorite, and a must try for any foodie. The satisfaction of each item is 110%. This is a chef who has mastered his craft and is now pushing the envelope in new and exciting ways. He manages to create a sense of nostalgia and playfulness on his dishes. If you live in Miami or are visiting definitely make Itamae a stop.

Michelin level experience. Fantastic food, exceptional hospitality, very original and different from anything else we've had before. 11/10 recommend

The service is impeccable, and the food is so fresh and tasty. While it’s definitely on the pricier side for Miami, I think it is very worth it thanks to the amazing food, cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff! Recommend the ceviche and the octopus roll!

Great experience. Customer service was impeccable and the food was fresh and delicious. I really loved all of what we ordered. Sushi was AMAZING! We ate the bar because it was very hot outside, and all the staff was very friendly and polite. They even gave us a couple of dishes to try. Very recommended.
