Cozy spot where you can relax and enjoy creative cocktails and an extensive collection of mezcals. The chef is excellent and has cultivated a mouthwatering bar menu with top notch ingredients. We had the ceviche and it was delightful—crisp julienned veggies, perfectly marinated fish and seafood with a nice acidity. The dessert was ridiculously delicious with a “broken” tart of creamy citrus custard with tender cookie shrapnel artfully displayed. The cookie was broken into perfect pieces for wiping up the custard. I contemplated licking the plate :) Go—you will not be disappointed!

San Mezcal is hands down one of the most amazing bars I’ve been to in Mexico. Their selection of Mezcal is incredible and the variety is unparalleled. I walked in as someone who though “hated Mezcal” and left a lover and connoisseur of this spirit. The owner Julio was super nice and offered so much knowledge! He taught us how to taste and enjoy Mezcal. The bar also offers traditional drinks and amazing food. I am a tough food and cocktail critic especially being born and raised in Mexico I know my tequila and Mezcal. This place is AMAZING. Not to mention the food! I am a big foodie that lives in Philly and goes out to eat every other day and this spot has made me want to move down here! Everyone visiting San Miguel should have the experience of San Mezcal. You will not be disappointed!

3.5! A cozy and exceedingly lively atmosphere with EXCELLENT service for a mixed crowd! The menu comprises exquisite, minute-sized portions for one who isn’t hungry—delectable morsels, seductively plated! Pan-seared Sea Bass with Roasted & Crisped Leek, Miso Chili Mayo & citrus-soy-butter truffle sauce was a divine starter. The tofu, Agadashi style, came with interesting house-made kimchi. All of the vegetable was lovingly shaved, julienned, and dressed differently in each appearance! Environmentally friendly citizens can dine conscience-free on the Ceviché of Shrimp Seabass Scallop. Skip dessert if you want more than a single mouthful of the memorable fragmented Broken Lemon Pie. The calorie count is truly insignificant! The Mezcal Mule comes in a tall mug, half-filled with ice, and is the most substantial portion of your meal. Bon appetit!

It looks like a great option to go. Great presence at yesterday's event in parque Juárez "San Miguel y sus sabores". Thanks, I'll visit your restaurant soon for sure.

A wonderful oasis from the bustle of tourists a short walk uphill from El Centro. This cozy stylish mezcal bar and restaurant should be a must on anyone's list. They have a great selection of mezcal cocktails if one does not want to venture into straight mezcal. Either way it's a great hidden gem of SMA

Best place to taste mezcal in all its greatness ;) Nice and friendly ambience, very knowledgeable and professional staff. Lots and lots of different verities of mezcal and nice choice of tequila. Tasty and «non Mexican»-style food. Absolutely worth to go!

Cool local mezcal bar with a large selection of Mezcals from all over Mexico., outside of the tourist bustle. Try a few because no good story starts with water .

This place is a hidden gem. The mezcal list is amazing. The food is just as good, Mexican/Asian fusion. Highly recommend the sea bass. Tip: they offer tastings if you call in advance

If the review was just for cocktails and service it would be 5 stars. Their mezcal selection is extensive and their cocktails smooth and creative. However, the food is some of the worst I have had in San Miguel. The chicken torta had stale bread, was flavorless, and the fried chicken cutlet was not of good quality, and the pork dish tasted like bad fish sticks. Come for drinks but it's a hard pass on the food.

An exceptional bar, yes, but even more so an exceptional restraunt. Excellent atmosphere, super attentive staff, gargantuine selection of mescals and tequilas. The chef is truly inspired. Don’t miss the spinach salad, lemon tart, or really anything else on the menu. All of this with prices of half what you would expect to pay for food of this caliber. We will be back!

First bar/dining experience while visiting San Miguel for the first time! This place was cozy and super convenient being right around the corner from where we were staying. We had a small appetizer with the salads which were just delicious!! We had to order the tomato salad twice it was so good!! The bartender was Sebastian who was super friendly! Definitely recommend this place!

My wife and I absolutely loved this bar in SMA - ending up here maybe 5 different times during a one month stay. We have also fallen in love with Mezcal after spending time here. Sebastian guided us through several tastings, helping us each define our own unique preferences. He was very knowledgeable and extremely kind and helpful. And the tapas were great as well!

San Mezcal bar is a vibrant and lively spot in the heart of San Miguel. The decor is eclectic, with colorful walls, tables made from recycled wood, and a lively soundtrack to keep the party going. The bar offers an extensive selection of craft mezcals from various parts of Mexico, as well as a wide range of classic cocktails. The drinks are expertly crafted by knowledgeable bartenders who can advise on which cocktails best suit your taste buds. As for the food, there's something for everyone, from tacos and quesadillas to Mexican-style burgers and burritos. On weekends the bar hosts live music events which draw large crowds who dance late into the night. For those looking for a quieter atmosphere, there's plenty of cozy seating areas where you can sit back and enjoy a drink or two while catching up with friends. Overall, San Mezcal Bar is great spot to relax and have a few drinks after work or to go dancing on the weekend. The atmosphere is buzzing and the staff are friendly, making it one of the most popular bars in town.

Stopped in for a drink and a small bite. I had a mule that was pretty spectacular. They gave us an amazing salad as soon as we sat down and we ordered a chicken sandwich of sorts. That description makes it sound boring but it was phenomenal. Atmosphere was awesome and server/bartender attentive. A bit pricey compared to the rest of our trip but definitely delicious. We plan to be back!
