The Tempranillo was outstanding. The staff was exceptional. This is a rare find in Mexico. A real destination that is growing its appeal through hard work and customer service. Beautiful grounds and wonderful facilities. For visitors it’s a must stop. For locals it’s a regular destination. Give them a try and please let them know GoyoGTO recommends them highly. Happy travels.

Reserved a picnic for 2. The grounds were nice, but the service and food were exceptional. A bottle of wine comes with the picnic - we selected the Rose which was nice. It’s dog friendly. They also had craft beer on draft if wine isn’t your thing.

Had such a wonderful afternoon at Buhos. The wine , staff , and atmosphere is absolutely on point. Visual adventure with tasty wines and tasty food too. Met the owner Eric who is a lovely man. He truly cares about sustainability and is friendly and welcoming. If In San Miguel de Allende it’s a must visit. 20 mins from Zona Centro. Thanks for having us and we will be back.

Our first Mexican winery and we were very surprised. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent. Wines, I had the Rose Grenache which was perfect for a warm day. Can also recommend the Tempranillo and the Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Didn't do the tour. Would definitely recommend.

The vineyard is super beautiful and the experience is pleasant. I didn't like the wines in the tasting and I didn't find it that interactive, it lasted about 40 minutes maximum. The restaurant's menu has several interesting options but a little high for the portions. It is worth it to know…

Great spot to visit, grab wine, enjoy a picnic and just vibe out. They source most of their own food and ingredients from their land and farm. Wines are naturally made and tasty. The people are flat out friendly. Got to meet the owner who’s very hospitable. Only ~20 min cab/Uber ride from San Miguel de Allende. Would highly recommend carving out 2-4 hours for a visit!

This place is breathtaking! Beautiful views all around. Extremely knowledgeable staff. Friendly owners who will sit and have great conversation with you over a glass of wine. And oh yeah, the wine is fantastic! By far the best Rosé I've ever had. None of that overly sweet stuff here. Just really good, well crafted vino.

I can say that it was the best winery experience we had. The food was amazing. Better than many fine dining restaurants. The service, ambiance and the wine was great. Highly recommended.

Definitely wouldn’t recommend for numerous reasons both from the wine and service perspective. The Tempranillo 2021 was not even drinkable. Incredibly acidic and after taste was pure pepper. The Cabarnet Franc was fine, as was the rose Tempranillo-Syrah blend. Fine as in not worth traveling for. Fernando was quite frankly, rude. Towards the end I ordered a cab (Uber had no availability) and I politely went inside after 20 minutes and he snapped at me stating “you said no”. Politely, I said, “Sorry, I actually said yes”. Instead of just ordering a taxi, he proceeded to argue saying I said no and literally walked off. Eventually a really nice guy stepped in and apologized, offered a port, and said he was stressed with all the tables. This isn’t against the business as a whole (although, I’m from San Francisco so I have napa right next to me and this place just didn’t deliver). The girl server is really great, as is the guy who tried to correct the situation. All things considered, the cost to get here isn’t worth it.

My husband and I recently visited Dos Búhos on a trip to San Miguel and had a wonderful experience. The winery is located a short trip outside of SM and was easy to get to by Uber from the town. We booked a wine tour and tasting, and then had an excellent lunch (and more wine) on the beautiful patio overlooking the vineyards. We were not very familiar with Mexican wines, and this tour provided great insight into the industry and production at Dos Buhos. We were very impressed by all the wines we tasted on the tour and at lunch. Our guide was warm and welcoming and exceptionally knowledgeable about all the workings of the winery. Highly recommend the tour if visiting the winery. For lunch on the onsite restaurant, we had a delicious wood fired pizza to share and sampled a couple more glasses. One of the owners greeted us and offered us a tasting of some other unique wines. We had a lovely chat with him. Overall, visiting Dos Buhos was a highlight of the trip to SM for us. Thank you for such a memorable afternoon!

The place is very nice, pleasant and quiet. The wine tasting is very complete and guided, the food is good and varied, the white pizza and the octopus are delicious! The price goes hand in hand with the quality and flavor. The attention of the staff is very good, however I consider that they are not enough because they take time to serve you due to the occupation of the tables.

Fantastic winery very close to SMA. We went with our young daughter. Did a wine tasting and our tour guide Angel was super nice! Great food and wine. Our daughter played with some other kids who were already there and chickens! I bought some good bottles to bring home.

Had the wine tasting tour here. First of all, the wines were lovely especially the rosé. The grounds were also quaint and walking around it made for a pleasant afternoon. The tour itself though is very underwhelming. Been to a lot of wine tasting tours and sad to say this is my least favorite. Our guide lacked passion, there was minimal information and nothing more. There were a lot of silent moments and many of those moments just her staring at us until we finish the glass of wine so she can then take us to another part of the tour just to finish it. For about $32 USD per person, the tour is definitely not worth it. If going there, better to just spend that money on wine and not the tour.

Me and my family were at Dos Búhos at the end of August; the place is nice, we spent a pleasant time. We were a group of 11, 8 adults and 3 children. We booked and paid for the picnic in advance, we indicated that there were 3 children since there is no option to pay for food for them in the reservation. When we arrived, we were asked how many services we had paid for, the question surprised us a little bit cause we felt they were not prepared. The food was good, the dessert was delicious! In general, small portions, no one explained the menu to us and we had to order from the menu to be satisfied, they did not serve anything with the children in mind. The pizzas taste so good! The picnic included a bottle per couple (4 bottles) we ordered a bottle of rosé, one of red sine and one of white to try them and then order the last one of the one we liked the most. We requested the last one of rosé wine (2021) because we liked it a lot. The person who served us brought us another 2022 rosé with double fermentation. The truth is that the flavor was really bad and we did not understand why she decided to carry out another harvest and another type of process without asking us. After the picnic, we walked through the vineyards, we had a good time but at least I expected better attention. Nobody asks you about your experience, neither on site nor via email.

My fiancee and I visited Dos Buhos on our recent trip to San Miguel and it was the highlight of our visit. The property is stunning and the owners and staff were so knowledgable and friendly. We booked the 4 wine tasting tour which was wonderful, followed by lunch. The food was fantastic and in such a stunning setting. We were also lucky enough to visit on a tasting day and got to sample a few extra wines. Eric and his family made us feel so welcome. They also helped us organise a taxi home when we discovered we were out of range for uber! A fantastic visit!

What a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated warmly. Angel gave us our tour and was wonderfully knowledgeable. It also goes to be said that we speak limited Spanish and Angels English was excellent, as this is not something we expect, it was a huge plus for us and should be for any English speaking tourist. The property is beautiful, the farming practices are certified organic, and the animals on the property are just an added bonus. The wines are growing! We were able to taste multiple vintages of certain varietals and interesting expressions of others and you can taste the progress and the potential in everything. The wines here definitely have the terroir imprinted on them. We hung out after our tasting and had some cheese and Charcuterie which was amazing. The service and staff went above and beyond for us. One of the owners, Eric, stopped by and had a nice long chat with us about the winery and the wines, life in general. We will definitely be back here and I would highly recommend this to anyone from casual wine lovers who enjoy great scenery and some food, to professionals looking for interesting expressions of classic varietals.

Most of the San Miguel wineries have only been around for a few years but they are growing in numbers and producing excellent wines. We spent the day at Dos Búhos (Two Owls) Winery. Owned by a local couple, this vineyard was once a peach farm. Now in it’s seventh plus year of operation, they are producing around 15,000 bottles of win annually. Believe or not, the entire wine growing and production process is done by hand with a very small but knowledgeable and charming staff. Diana was excellent providing our tour which concluded with a delicious chef prepared picnic and a viewing of a beautiful visual art installation in their historic chapel. It was the prefect afternoon. We met Michelle, one of the proprietors, who you could tell was very kind and passionate about the winery, staff, and product.

We had an incredible time at Dos Buhos, we're from California and have done every manner of winery from blue collar to pretentious and this was just a great experience all around. The wines were good and/or interesting and the service was impeccable. We felt welcome from the time we walked in until the time we walked out. Angel did our tasting tour and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, he felt like a friend by the time we got to our last wine. Eric, one of the family members/owners came over while we ate to introduce himself and spoke with us for quite some time about the winery and it's history. I wish I knew the names of our server and the girl who greeted us and circled back to our experience later because they were amazing as well. Highly recommend the wine tour/tasting and staying for the charcuterie board and outdoor table experience. The setting is beautiful, a mix of desert and mountain with a rustic touch of chickens and at least one kitty wandering the premises. If we hadn't booked last minute we could have done the wine/food pairing but that's on our list for the next visit. This winery has a high revisit value and you truly do leave feeling like family.

Fabulous winery. My husband and I have toured top wineries in Napa, France, and Italy. Dos Buhos did not disappoint. The food is amazing, staff is wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wines. It’s a perfect way to spend the day and liked that it was kid friendly. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to SMA!

It's easy to dismiss that Dos Buhos organically farms all of their grapes, or that the family has been a fixture in SMA since 1957. But I love this winery for two reasons. All of their red wines get two years in the barrel and two years in the bottle before release. And in a cool climate like Guanajuato this is vital to soften the acidity and make the wines enjoyable without additional aging. Few other wineries in the region shoulder that expense. Additionally, I have never had anything other than the best service in Mexico when I bring friends to the winery. Always friendly, always attentive and if they don't know the answer to a question, they will immediately find out. Dos Buhos is one of the few wineries that retain their staff for a long time and that commitment to training and development really shows. I've taken two large groups to the winery in the last week and everyone really enjoyed themselves. At least three cases of wine were purchased by our groups.

Ufff - beautiful place, nice tour, not the best selection of tasting vines. We have also tried their red Aglianico and again the same standard - needs improvment. Maybe they need time to get it right but this was the first vine tour from which I did not want to buy any bottle. We had a lunch with a great steak but the service was like from the cartoons - funny and even tragical. Meat was great, the restaurant has a huge potential but they are not there jet. All in all after trying vines in this vinery I gave up from the vines from this region for a while.

That was great. The maridaje: 4 tiempos it was good. The wine they produce are organic. The personal in the viñedo are nice.

Their wine was excellent, superb even. That aside I didn’t feel that the tour was a good value… 500 pesos per person for a ~30 minute walk around the vineyard and 3 small glasses of wine. That said, our guide was very knowledgeable and they are a young winery that needs revenue to continue growing. I’d recommend making a stop here, but I hope they consider readjusting the price of the short guided tour to match its overall value.

I love this vineyard! The organic wines are truly exceptional, the architecture is subtle, the food delectable and the people are so knowledgeable and kind. There is also a great immersive art space on sight in the chapel. I will be bringing everyone I know here.

Excellent wines (esp the pet-nat and Grenache) and delicious freshly made pizza. Great views, great vibes. The owner was super kind, spoke to us for a while about the origin of the vineyard, and even gave us a few free glasses. Highly recommend!

👍👍 La comida riquísima, atentos y amables, el lugar hermoso aunque restringido en algunas áreas por no ser huésped del hotel. En general todo bien, limpieza y medidas de seguridad adecuadas. Nos encantó la tabla mixta.
