Facinating and interesting site to visit. Amazing a natural spring can flow like it does even after a long dry spell. Be great to be living downstream from it with a natural irrigated finca. You can see the route it takes down and through the valley by the greener vegetation.

I often use the Fuente to refill my 6 ltr. Plastic drinking water bottles. It may only cost 65 centimos for new ones but the thought of only using them once and then throwing them away is too much to contemplate 😟. The constant, life giving, flow that pours out of all those spouts is incredible to behold. It may not be used now adays for its other purpose, as a lavanderia, but, for the first time recently, I rinsed out a muddy boiler suit. Nice to keep old traditions alive 😀

As seen on "A Place in the Sun" 😜 Tucked away down from the old town, good if you want to go walkabout

As beautiful as the rest of the village! Fresh water right from the hills, as pure as it gets. Very tidy and well taken care, its a beautiful place to just sit and chill while u rest from the up and downs of this beautiful village.

The Moorish Fountain or Fuente Publica De Mojacar was a truly wonderful experience and to think it has bn used since 1488 and is still used today is remarkable. I only wish I had time to visit at dusk and see the women using it wld have completed the experience but unfortunately time did not allow beautifully kept . A little tricky to find but ask a local if stuck.

Great morning trip out, good walk up hill! You go through winding old streets selling pottery. There is a spectacular view at the top and restaurants for refreshments.

Such a lovely place. You can imagine the women doing their washing there years ago on the stones. We collect our water from there for use in our home when we are in Spain. Very drinkable.

Gorgeous town. Cute shops in the area as well. Plenty of gorgeous places to take pictures as well as a beautiful Catholic Church in the center of the town. Plenty of places to get gelato, most of the prices at those places are about the same.

This is the water fountain that has been serving Mojácar since 1464. The spring water flows down through the mountains being naturally filtered on the way. You can take your empty water bottles and fill them up. No charge. Exceptionally clean fresh water.
