This Natural Park is simply breathtaking! Best to explore by foot. The are numerous trails along the coast going up and down from one gorgeous beach to the next secluded cove, up you go giant sand dunes and down to an orchard of "pitas"...Please keep this please clean, DO NOT litter and leave nothing behind, thank you

Wild desert, sandy beaches with people, stony beaches with no people, the highest lighthouse in the Mediterranean, snorkelling, views, starry nights, a sprinkling of good restaurants, history - plenty here for a week's holiday.

Long stretchers of beach, was a bit windy, lovely beach, and further down up the mountain, great views at the light house.

Awesome. The last semi arid zone in Europe. As inhospitable an environment as you will find yet filled with flora and fauna that can live nowhere else and stunning scenery. If you are in Almeria this area is a must see.

Such an amazing place. Even though the sun wasn't shining it is still beautifull to drive around here. Really recommend it!!

This would be a stunningly beautiful place, if only it wasn't strewn throughout with litter, disused building and packaging materials, and huge amounts of plastic from the ubiquitous poly tunnels that seem to cover most of this area (yes, even in this "natural" park). It's truly awful. And shameful that the local government hasn't seen fit to get it cleaned up or maintained in any way.

Amazing beaches with crystal clear water. Mostly enjoyed by locals! Just know that there is time slot to enter the car park. Outside of these slots, you will have no access but you will be asked to park at the 1st car park until the relevant time slot!

If you are looking for calm and peace, this is the place. Very steep shelf into water so watch the kids but it makes for a great swim. Lots water sports too. Amazing food at the chiringuito right on the beach..good quality and good value. Worth a drive. X

Not so beautiful as it seems in the pictures. To find a very beautiful place you have to let the car somewhere and go walk some miles...with 2 childrens was a bit hard to do that so we quit .

Terrible we arrived late in the evening on our sailing yacht and the weather was not as predicted spent aost uncomfortable night trying to sleep and just when the wind started to calm down a rolling wave came about that rocked the boat like cork . anchorage wise very goodholding it has put me off going there again

Avoid the infamous sea of plastic in the middle and stick to the coastal roads only. Some of the best beaches are n the world, the prettiest fishing villages in Spain and Europe's warmest, driest winter make this unmissable if you find the right places.Aquaamarga,Las Negras,Rodalqyilar and San Jose are all worth a visit and can be viewed in one day if touring not staying. However I recommend staying, especially if it's winter.

Top nature place where to enjoy the art of the nature with the exotic forms of the costa, rocks, cliffs. Virgin seabed full of life and very special colors. Enjoy the natural sounds of the Cabo fe Gata: the sea melodies, the squawking of the seagulls, the song of crickets, cicadas and other fauna of the mountains of the cape. The hospitality and simplicity of its people will leave a mark on you. In short, an experience you will never forget.

I love this natural park. It's very different, since its a rocky desert. It should be more protected, particularly around summer time, when hordes of tourists want to enjoy the fantastic beaches of Geneveses, Monsul and all the little coves in between. It is also a fantastic place to do scuba diving and experience a mediterran sea full of life. Best time to visit it, is probably September to November, and April to June.

(Translated by Google) It is shameful that the Junta de Andalucia and the Nijar City Council allow private exploitation by charging the public for access to a Natural Park and, worst of all, they plan to build a 5 * hotel in Genoveses on the grounds that the volume of buildings built does not increase. , forgetting that the park is a maritime-terrestrial reserve and that its use is agricultural / livestock (who has allowed what was a canteen on the farm to become a bar / restaurant and a future 5 * hotel) (Original) Es vergonzoso que la Junta de Andalucia y el Ayuntamiento de Nijar permitan la explotación privada cobrando al publico el acceso a un Parque Natural y lo peor proyectan construir un hotel de 5 * en Genoveses con el argumento de que no se eleva el volumen de edificación construido, olvidando que el parque es una reserva marítimo-terreste y que su uso es agrícola/ganadero ( quien ha permitido que lo que era una cantina de la finca se convierta en un bar/restaurante y en un futuro hotel de 5*)

We didn’t know what to expect and were blown away by the vast stretch of open coastline, seemingly untouched by the tourism that usually takes over at beaches. Some of the roads along the coastline (past the lighthouse) are in much worse shape than others; if you want to drive those areas comfortably, take something rugged. We watched sunset close to the lighthouse and stopped back in Cabo de Gato for caña+tapas - a perfect day.

(Translated by Google) The natural park is undoubtedly beautiful, there are a thousand coves and beaches to visit, some better known than others, some even almost virgin. Perfect for Snorkeling and diving, SUP, Kayak, hiking, mountain biking etc. The problem is that most of these places, despite being a natural park, are quite dirty, either because of the plastics from greenhouses and other waste they produce or because of the garbage left by the unconscious who visit it. It should be more guarded and controlled, with exemplary fines. It is a shame to go on the road or along the roads and see the verges full of garbage, it doesn't really give a very good impression. Getting to the beaches, staying barefoot and walking on the sand is priceless, the bad thing is that it will be rare that you will not find cigarette butts, micro plastics and others.
