Hide a Way is a find on Us 23 N - The place is charming and cozy with great burgers.

Comfy but spacious country tavern of stone, taxidermy, and knotty pine. Fair prices, good food. 10 bar seats, many tables, pool table, touchtunes. Nice folks.

Nice place between Alpena in Rogers City quite near the faux intersection of Long lake and Grand lake. Big menu of what appears to be nice things. We ate here in the mid-afternoon and we only had a combo appetizer. Quite good the most items were deep fried things, as is the case in most northern Michigan places like this. But great service from Mary, would definitely revisit and recommend for a full meal. Lots of beer choices!

Waitress promptly took our order and then promptly left the building. Not sure what happened. New waitress came with 2 items from our order and had to find out what the other 2 orders were.... Total time in restaurant was 2 hours to get our food and eat. Won't be back anytime soon!!!!!

The waitress is very slow and rude. She slid the glass of beer across the table, I had to wait for my Pepsi. She never said one word to us. The food was not good shrimp dinner shrimp was tough and the Philly wrap was not like what we had there before, not good. French fries was not fries they are potato curlsπŸ˜•. Waitress never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything. The evening was not busy at this place . The waitress never came back to give us our bill had to go to the bar to get it. Very disappointed.

Food was amazing and service was even better! Sapphire our server was extremely attentive. She had our next beer ready before we even asked. I would highly recommend the Walleye and the Wild West Burger. We will definitely be making the Hide Away Tavern our regular stop!

An excellent restaurant and bar. Great food and a fun, rustic atmosphere. Very friendly staff and excellent service. A great place to visit when on the sunrise side of Northern Michigan.

Rustic hunting lodge type atmosphere. Food was good. Service was very slow. It was not busy but it took over 1/2 hour to get our drinks and we were there about 45 minutes before they took our food order. I can understand if they were busy but there were waitresses standing around chatting. Overall not very impressive.

We had a couple great pizza's. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was perfect for watching the big game! Just a note, the menu after 8.30 pm is pizza only, but we really did like it.

The Hideaway is conveniently located on the corner of Grand Lake Drive and US-23 on the way to historic Presque Isle and the two lighthouse parks. The food was excellent and service was good on a really busy Labor Day weekend. The facility is neat and had a pleasant sports bar atmosphere. Prices were quite reasonable.

Service was good, friendly, smiling waitress, place wad clean, toss salad wad fresh, crisp and tasty, the fish was good, portion size wad good, hamburger, was big and done as ordered, onion rings are very good, small cheese pizza, cheese very greasey, dough was good. Then the ham and cheese hoagie, big bun, lots of bun, some lettuce, few slices of tomato, lot of mayo, some cheese, oh did I mention the ham, where the hell was the ham, thought there was a chicken shortage, this may have been the worst example of a hoagie I've ever seen, even Sub Way has a healthy portion of ham on thier sandwiches, not worth the money, usually the food is pretty good here, hope they improve, especially with the winter months coming, when money gets thin around this area.

I've been coming to this place for over 30 years. We used to vacation in Alpena eve years and this was always a must stop! Even after all these years they still serve amazing fish and ribs! Thank you!

Great food! Best pizza around. Servers and bartender were upbeat and friendly. I’d give more than 5 stars if I could.

I would definitely recommend a visit here! The pizza was DELICIOUS, very cute decor but most importantly the staff was great! We visited Grand Lake for the first time for an ice fishing trip on a super snowy night 2 weeks ago. Called ahead and the bartender said they were closing early but we could order a pizza to pick up before they closed. Got there and quickly made new friends with the bartender, Lisa. She was great! Very friendly and accommodating! We stayed for a bit chatting and had a few drinks there while she was closing up for the night. She took time to show us the bar, talked fishing with my boyfriend and just made us really feel welcomed there! I also work in a restaurant and I would definitely want her on my team! She is the reason we will be back on our next visit to the area!

The food was good, but unfortunately the menu is nowhere near what it used to be. If you want something besides a sandwich and fries, keep driving. They didn't even have onion rings.Used to be one of my favorite places, but no longer on my list.

The good is very good. Staff is very pleasant. Salad dressings could include oil and vinegar or non cream items. Dairy Allergy.

Couldn't believe the service. Couldn't even get to the menu to try it. Service was a turn off. Waited 10 minutes to even be greeted then told we only had 10 minutes to order. Didn't introduce herself. Visibly mad that we needed a minute with the menu. Really sad with the treatment. Was excited with the new ownership but we won't be back. :(

Waitress was not friendly, at all. Not to us anyway, she seemed to be with other tables. Which was awkward. Glasses were dirty. Lipstick on mine. The attitude from the server made me not even want to say anything, about anything! The bathrooms were disgusting. We was going to order food but based on the look of the bathrooms and glasses, we passed. I'm disappointed. Hideaway used to be a good, reliable place to hit up out that way... clearly on the downturn.

Just went out for dinner. Seemed like our server was having a bad day. Took too long to get our order out, at least 30 mins which in itself can be understandable but how about a little feedback about the delay? Maybe check in and not ignore us. Just an unprofessional demeanor made us wish we had got a different server, like the one the people who came in after us and got food before us had wait on them. We waited too long on the server, she didn't wait on us. Just a one off. No big deal. Food was good. Probably won't be back for a while.

Amazing place! Don't pass by if you're in the area. The food arrived quick and was super delicious. Our server, Lisa, was very friendly with a bit of happy sass. The Sandies drink...mmmmmm...so good! This place has it going on. We'll definitely be back next time we visit the area.

Pizza was burned. Way over cooked toppings. Manager wouldn't come over and talk to us. Waitress had to ask permission to not charge for the pizza we did not eat ...

We come to this bar often and ever since they’ve changed management the service is abysmal. The bartender is slow (and mean) and they only have one waitress most of the time. Do us all a favor and sell this place back to the previous owners please

Came here with several friends. The boneless wings, fried pickle spears, sweet potato fries and olive burger were delicious. Topped off with salted caramel dippers and your taste buds will be totally satisfied.
