So satisfying to eating some place that is willing to fix something more than your average Gordon's Food selection. We had cold sandwiches and a panini. Totally knocked it out of the park with both. I was totally impressed with everything about Fresh Plate, I think you will be also.

Good healthy food. Lots of choices from meat to Vegan. Nice staff. Can watch the cooks in the kitchen. Many beer on draft choices also. Indoor and outdoor seating... huge open wall makes Indoor feel like outdoor when nice weather.

I love everything about this place. The atmosphere, the vibe and especially the food and wait staff. All of the ingredients were very flavorful and fresh. The building has a sports bar in the back, a wine bar on the opposite side of the building and the restaurant where we ate. Something for everyone, I highly recommend stopping in.

Excellent menu choices and wonderful staff made for a great evening. (Rachel was awesome) We had a flight of beer, some wine and 4 different tiny plates.

Very cool atmosphere, but our food came at different times. Two in our party got their food right away and the other two had to wait almost another 1/2 hour. I got the blue shine. It looked better than it tasted. The chicken was a little rubbery and the corn tasted like canned corn (was supposed to be cilantro lime but didnt taste like either) Very disappointing.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I really liked the Brussels sprout appetizer and the roasted duck.

What a great place- and im kind of picky, a little but if a food snob. Pleasantly surprised! The staff was extremely pleasant (I watched them interact with each other, not just customers) and had precise, spot on knowledge of the menu. I believe Rachael was my server. The cocktail was delicious (not too strong but not watered down) and the cocktail menu innovative- I had a raspberry lemon Prosecco. I then had a great pasta dish, on the recommendation of my server. Chicken was cooked to perfection. I normally steer clear of ordering chicken in a restaurant because cooking it properly challenged a lot of chefs. The sauce on my pasta was a light but deep/complex balsamic, mushroom and was sparing but tasty, not overwhelming. The menu is diverse - I usually have one or two options I’d like, here I had to choose from 4 and now I have to come back to try the others!

Great food, unique in interesting ways. My husband had a build-your-own burger with a veggie portobello burger and I had the grass fed beef Island Bum, minus the jalapeΓ±os but with added roasted beets. I loved all the extra veggies you could get as sides or toppings. So much I wanted to try! Had a Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout - delicious. Chocolate Lava cake and their special of the day, pumpkin roll for dessert. Very good.

This lovely restaurant unfolds, with a wine bar and restaurant in front, and a bar tucked in the back. The menu is extensive and features healthy options, including the vegan Happy Cow. The variety of burger options no doubt left other cows less happy. My grilled sandwich was superb, a West Coast Club. Beer selection was extensive, and the service staff were helpful. A nice discovery on Alpena's main drag!

Came here for the first time today. The service was probably the slowest I've ever seen and it wasnt even many customers in the place. We waited 15 mins to even get our order taken. 20 minutes for our food, another 10 for someone to come over and ask if we needed anything then another 15 for the bill to be picked up. We spent majority of our time here waiting around. The food was okay at best. I got the "it's so goodua" rice bowl. The rice was super dry and It seemed like it was overly spiced with pepper. It's too bad the service was so terrible because it is a really cute restaurant that definitely would have the potential to be great if their staff was up to par

Wonderful service. And good beer. Only time I've ever had a problem with the food, but definitely still recommend going there. Every place has a bad day every now and then. Its to be expected.

Nice place nice atmosphere, good service, food was pretty good. Pizza was very thin in the middle so if you tried to pick up a piece all the topping would fall off it. You have to almost eat it with a fork and knife. They had some interesting options for pizza that you don't see other places.

It's been a few years since I've eaten here. They have seriously stepped up their service and food. Rachel, our waitress, definitely 5 stars! My pizza tonight was AMAZING and the sweet pepper soup was one of the best soups I've had in a long time! The Fresh Palate is definitely going on our regular restaurant list now!

Prices very high. $13 for a Caesar salad all it was is lettuce croutons and cheese not even Chicken on it. If you don't mind paying a lot for dinner it's a good place to go. Their food is good.

I always enjoy my experience at Fresh Palate. The dishes are flavorful and creative and unique from other places in the area. They have a trained chef who always works well with my dietary restrictions. I hardly eat out, but this is one place that has earned my trust and I pick for special occasions. I dont fear them ignoring me and getting me sick. I love how they utilize local food and support our farmers. It is always quality and I highly recommend it.

Great food and drinks! I had the Morning Za and my boyfriend had the Chicks a Waffling. To drink I had the Iron Mule and he had the Blackbeard.

Completely understand with the cruise ship coming through they can be overwhelmed and not have to meet a certain degree of quality and service but our experience on a weekday was pretty terrible. The waitress was extremely condescending and rude for no reason. The apps were sub par and the burrito wraps were almost unedible. Mine was supposed to have steak but was 90% rice that tasted like it was resused from over the weekend. I respect the concept but was very poorly executed. Hopefully was just a very off day.

Used to love this place but just went there a couple of weeks ago and it has totally changed unfortunately. We ordered french fries that were clearly purchased from the grocery store frozen food section. And on top of that, we were charged six dollars for a serving size of eight fries. The hamburgers we ordered were the worst I’ve ever had. It was obvious to meat was very old. We even tried reaching out to the ownership privately to express our concerns, but they did not respond.

Awesome ambience, great food. Right in the heart of downtown alpena in a restored historic building. Front of shop windows open on to street, great vibes. Incredible food, one of the most ecclectic menus ive seen - american, asian, mexican, pizzas, sandwhiches, burritos. Good range of veg and vegan options as well. Staff was very friendly. We went in the off season - might want to make a reservation during summer as its not a huge place

Visiting Alpena for the first time. Wanted to find someplace local, with unique menu items. This is the place. I got a small 4C Cruiser salad. It was still generous in size and full of the veggies listed. The Greek vinaigrette was creamy and delicious. That left room for my entrΓ©e: the EZP Rav. Again, chocked full of veggies, generous portion of ravioli and delicious sauce. The only thing I missed was a roll, or garlic bread, etc. yum! Will visit again!
