πŸ‘πŸ‘ Awesome museum to visit in Alpena. Lots of local, Native American history. Additionally lots of local artist art they have to check out. Finish with visit to the fossil quarry outside and walk to fishing boat and home display then stop by the gift shop. We'll worth the small admission fee! People often mention museum, visit, Alpena, great, shows, local, history,

Kids love it here. Every year when we visit from out of state Besser Museum is requested. Each visit seems to spur the imagination in a new way. The Planetarium is fun and a great distraction.

Went here for the late summer evening hours. Lots of interesting facts about Alpena and Michigan iin general. I'm not much for museums but I liked this one. We went to the planetarium. Jonathan was wonderful. Very informative. He showed us the sky and how to find a few things. Then we saw the space Apollo missions. Really enjoyed it. Recommend

I wish I had had the time to actually come in and visit the museum, but I will definitely do that next time. Getting the pictures of the Eagle head was great! Thank you!

I had an exceptional visit to the Besser Museum in Alpena! The museum’s exhibits are a wonderful reflection of the region’s history and culture. The Backyard exhibit was particularly impressive, showcasing an array of local artistry and historical artifacts. The museum's commitment to preserving and presenting Alpena’s heritage through engaging and informative displays is truly commendable. The museum staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, providing insightful information The Besser Museum is a fantastic cultural resource for both locals and visitors. I highly recommend spending some time exploring their exhibits, especially if you have an interest in local history. Dont miss the Foucault pendulum on the lower level. Keep up the excellent work!

Always a nice place to visit. Love the Planetarium too. Great for ones that love animals. The Planetarium speaker is well educated and fun to talk to. Their shows are always educational.

For a small town, the is an amazingly diverse museum. Interesting art, great taxidermy, plant exhibits and historical material. Hats off to you all for a great job in which you clearly put a lot of love.

Good education about Besser Corp and the concrete products they produce. Displays of two retired fishing/research vessels out back was also educational. Disappointing to learn the Planetarium is only open Friday and Saturday.

Very worth the $5 admission! Lots to learn and great for all ages. I happened to be there on a festival day so even better. All the volunteers are so friendly and the "streets" area rivals bigger museums. It's pretty cool.

The planetarium got a new coordinator and so are doing more shows (now also on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in addition to Saturday and Sunday). I was talking to the planetarium coordinator and he indicates that the planetarium can also do shows that explore geology and geography, shows that explore the human body, and live sky shows, in addition to what they already do. He indicated that he is working on developing Michigan Skies Live Fall, for September. Exciting!! I am looking forward to seeing more shows!

If you havent been here yet this is the first place i would go in Alpena getting to learn all about Alpena and its wildlife. My favorite being the one of a kind 1911 Alpena Flyer!
