BE
AWARE
IF
you
book
through
a
third
party
site,
you
will
be
charged
a
different
rate
than
what
you
book
on
those
sites.
They
will
claim
it
is
a
cleaning
fee
that
is
"added
into
the
nightly
rate."
So
for
me
it
was
$35
a
night
increase
for
two
nights
($70).
They
will
also
claim
that
they
emailed
you
the
receipts
at
booking
that
overview
the
costs,
but,
at
least
in
my
case,
they
did
not.
The
receipts
will
not
list
a
cleaning
fee,
again
just
a
change
in
daily
rate.
I
am
assuming
they
post
a
lower
rate
on
3rd
party
sites
to
attract
customers,
then
charge
them
the
full
rate
when
they
book,
and
hope
they
wont
notice.
Currently
in
talks
with
my
booking
site
about
the
matter,
as
staff
were
resistant
when
confronted
on
the
matter.
As
for
the
stay
it
was
ok.
Cabin
18
was
cute
and
spacious
with
room
for
a
car
right
out
front.
Bed
was
good
but
not
great.
For
such
a
high
"cleaning
fee"
I
do
wish
things
were
cleaner,
especially
the
jacuzzi
tub.
Also
with
such
a
high
"cleaning
fee,"
I
would
hope
that
they
would
check
to
make
sure
all
the
major
facilities
work,
however
on
the
first
night
I
found
that
my
cabin
had
no
hot
water
due
to
the
water
heater
pilot
being
out.
After
a
long
drive
that
evening,
I
was
very
much
looking
forward
to
that
jacuzzi
tub.
Instead,
I
found
myself
in
a
cold
tub
desperately
adding
boiling
water
to
make
it
at
least
temperate.
I
will
give
them
credit,
the
next
morning
they
fixed
it
right
away,
but
it
was
sad
to
lose
1
of
my
2
nights
with
that
tub.
All
in
all,
if
I
knew
the
full
cost
at
booking,
I
would
have
booked
elsewhere.
There
were
other
locations
in
better
spots
with
better
amenities
at
the
same
real
rate.
I
understand
that
the
lodging
business
is
a
dog
eat
dog
world
in
Big
Bear,
but
I
hope
Golden
Bear
will
try
making
sure
their
product
worth
their
cost
instead
of
using
shady
underhanded
tactics.
