This place is a gem!!! Bartenders are so nice and welcoming. They also make proper drinks! The wife and I are martini snobs and 1881 has hands down one of the best gin martinis. I believe the gal that made it was Adda or Addy. Like all the cool spots, the outside can be a little misleading but once you're in, you get fully immersed in a suave jazzy setting. I say jazzy setting cause they also have Jazz nights!!! We will definitely be back!!!

just moved in down the street from this location. decided I would bring my freshly 21 cousin and my brothers for a drink on Friday. LOVED it. the staff is very friendly, the ambiance is great, the drink prices were extremely reasonable, and the live Jazz just knocked it out of the park. to top it all off, there were TACOS! can't wait to become a regular here.

It was awesome everyb3rd Saturday I guess they have these stand up comedians come in truly funny people non stop laughing. It was a good experience the staff seem to be very cool and easy to get along withi recommend it 💯 percent 👍

Our favorite local watering hole. We fell in love when we moved to Pasadena 1.5 year ago. Absolutely wonderful for drinks, night caps, jazz nights galore. We love the Negronis and Manhattans here - Old Fashioned too! It’s a great place to connect with other neighbors in the community, too.

Very cool bar! Fun old school vibe with well priced (and strong) drinks.Nice bartender and good food stand set up in the back. Will be back for a jazz night.

Had an excellent cocktail here with a friend as I’m newly moved to Pasadena. My only complaint was that the lights were really bright (too bright to feel like a chill, comfy bar). Even though there were sports on (bleh) they were silent so didn’t overtake the bar. Excited to go back and try more cocktails on the menu.

It's a must the music is out of this world. The drinks are good, good prices, the service was ok.
