This park is not for the meek. It's not just a gnarly skatepark, it a price of art. There is so much detail out into this sexy hunk of Crete. Make sure to bring some bills for the donation box. Don't litter, destroy, paint, or disrespect this place in any way. You have been warned. The locals are passionate about this park and will do whatever it takes to keep it a happy place.

The park is over 20 years old now. Just as iconic as FDR (regarding that one comment) As long as you are on a skateboard, and NOTHING but one, regardless of age and experience, theirs no issues. A kid can sit on his board if he wants. If you’re an adult doing the same thing, then yes you will be getting looks and told to leave. Just know proper “skatepark etiquette” and you’re fine. Respect the park. People/tourists always check the place out and thats fine, just be mindful of anyone skating. If you’re legit loitering, yes someone will ask you to leave. Park is tight inside and so is parking. Bums who hangout around the park are instantly told to leave, because younger kids do skate here too, and they leave trash everywhere, andcl then the regulars end up cleaning up. Be respectful and you’ll be fine.

They let little kids who have no business being in a skatepark, roll around butt-boarding, but they won't let rollerskaters in. Hypocrites. Thankfully there are MUCH better parks all over town.

First time here. Wanted to check it out after work. Amazing park. Huge transfers and bowls. Friendly group of local skaters also. They didn't mind the old man cruisin on the carver board

Those are my kids “buttboarding” on a SKATEBOARD. They are having fun on a SKATEBOARD. It’s not hypocritical, they are riding a SKATEBOARD. I believe when you were told no skates you were offered a skateboard to borrow but declined. It’s about being respectful is all. It was built by skateboarders for skateboarders.

This is a crazy large DIY Park. It is seriously impressive. The only problem is the localism. There is no reason for anybody to behave the way some of the locals do; we're all here to skate and have a good time. Just a few "bad apples" make things unpleasant...but, the majority of folks here were totally cool.

Not much of a beginner park. It would be fun for more advanced skaters. Also it's kind of built wonky not super smooth. Other that that it's a good bowl skatepark

I feel compelled to leave a review only because I think it's all about location, location, location... I don't skateboard but have respect for those who do, especially when talented enough to skate this "Park". Would it's mostly only open during daylight hours, the people who maintain it do so with a sense of community from what I can see. That's also a rather large latrine on-site (which, like the fenced skate park, is locked at sunset or whenever it's too problematic to see straight, I suppose)

The real deal. 4.8/5. Highest rating I've given any park, pretty sure. Not for beginner skaters. A mecca, possibly one of my favorite parks in the U.S., next to El Paso, Volcom in Costa Mesa, and Louisville. Better than FDR, Venice Beach... lots of other great parks. Be prepared to skate your ass off.

As an original original skateboarder a steel wheeler I love that skate park underground skating is the same and that's where the skater needs to be this is a wonderful place it's not family friendly it's hardcore skating so grab a good board skate and have fun don't bring the kids

  • 5/5 Sara B. 2 years ago on Google
This park was built by the homeless community once they figured out that it was a historical site in the city had to donate a dollar for every dollar spent there. It's nationally known and famous for its very deep verts. I love it there

  • 5/5 ernest t. 2 years ago on Google
Experts only, huge vert and massive transition. A real work of art

Built at a time when there were zero skateparks in San Diego, this DIY skatepark is a monument to what we can accomplish when we work together. Only skateboarding is allowed here but Locals are super chill. There is a spot to BBQ inside as well.

This park is not for the feint of heart, nor the weak on wheels. Among the raddest and the baddest of boarders and bikers might be found, bound under bridge in this cage of "WAKE UP AND RAGE". FOR THE SERIOUSLY EXPERIENCED.

Great skate park under the 5 freeway. Lots of stuff to ride, with a very good vibe. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners, or scooters, but if you've been skating for awhile it's alot of fun.

    Amazing skatepark.

  • 5/5 Scott L. 5 years ago on Google
This is not a place for Beginners !!! . And remember. NO KOOKS. NO BIKES. NO ROOLER BLADES ... The 12 foot boul drop ROLLS out to an intimately set SK8 park with a LOCALS ONLY in your backyard feeling. It's kinda tight inside, but thats what's up. There's limited parking so T8k da bus or trolly. Bring water.

Best skatepark in Southern California Built by skaters for skaters Not some sterile poods park waste of time. Show respect I suggest younger skaters sit and watch, absorb, learn the lines that the big dogs use before ever dropping in. Go consistently ...with a knife

  • 5/5 S Y. 3 years ago on Google
This park is SKATEBOARDS ONLY. No Bikes, No Rollerblades, No Roller Skates, No Scooters. If you don't like the RULES go build your own park. Built by skateboarders, for skateboarders. Respect the park.
