Paid $10 entry with $5 credit to spend at the bar. Lovely spot to chill and enjoy the rope swing. Best to arrive early to enjoy the sun while it is quiet.

USA Traveler: My friend and I went here and had a wonderful time. Highly recommend! It's 10$ a person for a day pass. They have bathrooms at the parking lot but they also have showers and changing rooms closer to the "pool". It's apparently volcanic spring water, whatever it was was nice. There is a restaurant there and bar. Maybe a shop or two. Lots of chairs and tables to claim. We left our stuff out of sight for around 20 minutes and it appeared to be untouched. There's a rope to play on, swings in the pool, and a Tarzan swing to jump into the pool. No lifeguards. Wheelchair accessible to the pool. Some stairs that are wide going into the pool. The pool is surrounded by plants/jungle and even some go into the pool. Very cool! It was very shaded and so no sunscreen was needed.

Great place to swim and relax with a drink! $10 USD entry but you get $5 credit to spend within the resort so perfect for a couple cocktails. The water is lovely and clear and cool after a long day of scootering around the island!

Beautiful place, relaxing Natural volcanic water (not hot) pool, with clean relaxing area, chairs. 10$ Fee (getting 2 drinks for free). Free walking trail (35 min) on the mountain, with animal view.

A beautiful area tucked away from the main road in great surroundings. The pools are great for swimming or just cooling off with plenty of seating in the shade and a few loungers. A nice restaurant with a good selection of great food and very cold beers is a big plus. The service when I was here was good. They also have changing facilities and good clean bathrooms. This is well worth the effort to get here and spend a nice relaxing day, great for families or any type of group. Highly recommended!

A beautiful pastoral place. Admission is $5 per person. There is an arranged parking lot, a restaurant and good service. The water is relatively cool, there is Tarzan, swings in the water and plenty of shade, the place was a bit crowded but there was room for everyone to sit.

This place was a fun spot to chill for a few hours. We jumped off the rope swing and slack line for a while. It's like a big local swimming spot. Really pretty jungle all around!

Great spot to come to if you’re in Ometepe! You could easily spend a whole morning or afternoon here. It’s $10 entry but that gives you $5 to spend on food or drinks once inside. They have a great menu and plenty of drinks from coconuts to cocktails. The springs are stunning and so refreshing. Crystal clear!

Fun crisp refreshing natural spring water. Relaxing. Runs from under the nearby volcano. Large Iguanas or Howling monkeys surround you. $10 entry but it gives you a $5 drink. You choose. Great restaurant service. Food is brought to your lounge chairs or table. Incredible setting.

We really enjoyed this place. The natural pool was lovely, and there were good people around. The tostones con queso were delicious! Also, if you see the coconut bread vendor, be sure to try it!

A dream! Just take into consideration the water is colder, but I do advise you to arrive as early as possible to make the most of the day. The food was amazing and they do take card payments which was perfect. I recommend you to bring a padlock to use the lockers.

Perfect place to get some refreshing. Entrance is $10, but you get $5 in return for food / drinks. There's a 45 minute walk too which takes through this small jungle, we saw some howler apes which was great but other than that the hike wasn't all to spectacular.

Definitely worth a visit. 5$ entrance fee if you're a foreigner. The setting is a beautiful crystal clear waterpool in the midst of lush tropical vegetation. Only remark is that I expected it to be a bit more 'natural' while it's more like a swimming pool environment. Go on weekdays or the place will be swarmed.

Great place to spend a couple of hours! Entrance was 5$ per person, and if you come in the morning 8am you probably be one of the only one there and that without any bugs! And don’t forget to grab a fresh coconut, with or without the rum 🍹

Amazing place! It's clean, the staff is nice and helpful and the equipment is well maintained. There is a parking spot with a person helping with parking. Recommended to visit under the week and very early in the morning when there are no people. There are restaurants with coffee and food. The Tarzan swing and smal swing are very pretty and nice for some pictures.

Not great. It looks very nice and beautiful on their promotional pictures but in real life, it’s not worth much. It’s about a €5 entrance fee (even if you arrive late and they close in 45 minutes, we tried to pay less but they didn’t accept this). There were a lot of people and there was not that much nature anymore except if you count the moss on the bottom and steps. Not a must do in Ometepe

An amazing place to spend half a day. Recommended to go early as it gets very busy with locals. The water is stunning and a great temperature for swimming on a hot day. It's $3 entry still which is great. If you walk up the hill there is a good viewpoint and howler monkeys. The trails aren't well marked however.

It's a cool place to relax but every time you pay for something at the bar they assume you don't want the change. Guys, you have to deserve your tips, not extort the money. Also, the trail walk is not free - it costs $2. Big part of it leads through muddy banana fields - only animals we saw were birds, lizards and cows. Maybe there are monkeys sometimes - I don't know.

Nice swing to do back flips. The water is cool. Best water in town, finally some nice fresh water and not salty. Food quite expensive. But people at entrance of the park are very nice.

A few dollars to enter but has free parking onsite. You get a couple of free drinks with your ticket. The pools are busy with locals and children seem to be having lots of fun. Better on a hot day as the pools are cold. There’s a rope swing too.

The place does get crowded, but the water is really nice. We stayed for maybe 2 hours, but it seemed like a lot of families where staying there for the whole day. The prices at restaurant were higher than what you can get at other restaurants in the area, but 5$ of your ticket (which was 10$) can be spent on beverages. Would recommend visiting if you have time!

  • 1/5 Jessica Z. 6 months ago on Google • 11 reviews
Really terrible service. It costs like 370 COR to get in, and after 40 minutes we still hadn't managed to flag down a waiter or anyone. The pools were nice, but it started raining heavily so we just left.

A must see. Clean and comfortable. A bit on the expensive side as far as food service, however you can bring a cooler if you pay at the gate. You must try the coco loco drink! Great spot for families and a staple in your Ometepe visit! Recommended!

This place is magical...cristal clear water in the middle of the forest, chairs tables restaurant and a bar, there is something for everyone who loves water: tarzan swing, hamacs we went there with our 14 month old baby and she loved the cool water in a hot day. Just be carefull with the insects there are lots of ants and bees( you are in the middle of the forest). There is a fee to get inside but is well worth it for spending the whole day

Amazing place! You will find it recommended in almost every google post/blog of Ometepe tourism. The water was so clean and fresh😍 We ordered some food and it was delicious! Defintely worth the stop and the price ( around 5$, but i don’t remeber well) Also many lf the guys and girls working there are official tourism guides! So they can recommend you more places to visit! In fact se had super good experience as we talked to lne of them and arranged a walking trip To Maderas Volcano for the followung day for just 20$/p. (May seem a little bit expensive, but they are so nice its definetly worth it)

Very beautiful and refreshing. We went later in the day, so it was a bit cold, but once you get in the water, it's ok. There are swings, a Tarzan swing, and a separate smaller pool.

  • 4/5 Norman P. 2 years ago on Google
I didn't go for a swim. I went for a hike around the platano plantation. The pool; however, was cool. There is a rope swing on a raised platform that one can launch into the water from. I recommend that you bring some rubber foot protectors as one of our group cut their foot on something sharp in the water.

  • 5/5 Ira B. 1 year ago on Google
This the cleanest most natural place I have ever visited in my life. It is a freshwater spring from a volcanic mountain which has been cleverly dammed to create an Olympic sized fresh water pool with zero chemicals. It is located in a dense and verdant rainforest on the Island of Ometepi in Lago Nicaragua. You can only get to the island by ferry. If you are able to arrange the trip, it's a must. So very beautiful.

I loved this place!! We spent a good amount of our day here. The water is so cool and refreshing that you just don’t want to leave. My kids had so much fun and want to go back. This is one of the spots we will keep coming back to.

Beautiful cold water pool with fun swing. The admission is $10 but they give you $5 credit towards the bar/restaurant (and the mojitos were super cheap!). Lovely place to spend a couple of hours cooling off.

I visited El ojo on the weekend. It was ok. The place is beautiful per se and quite peaceful if you go during the week. It's full on the weekend with tons of kids and their families. The bar tends to mess your order up due the busy days. The bathroom is a little far away which makes me think that people pee in the water 😱. They have some activities so you can enjoy the water and have fun.

  • 5/5 Dureska 1 year ago on Google
Amazing place. Plan on spending a day. They are now charging $5 entry and $5 cover charge for restaurant. Food and drinks are very overpriced but still worth visiting. We took the hiking trail. It is worth it just up to the Monkey lookout. The loop back just passes through plantain plantation but it had some really cool volcano boulders. Go early and definitely during weekday if you enjoy tranquility

  • 5/5 Bronnie W. 1 year ago on Google
So pretty and clear water. Come early to avoid crowds. Ticket price includes $5 worth of food or drinks. We had a chicken wings side that we shared that was actually filling enough for both of us!

  • 3/5 Wong F. 1 year ago on Google
I understand that this is a different country from what I am used to but I cannot get over the fact that one has to pay to be able to swim in a natural swimming hole. And this is all El Ojo de Agua is... a swimming hole. Sure, it has a restaurant and is built up and has cabanas, picnic tables, rope swing, etc., but in the end it is just a swimming hole. And where I come from, it's as common as rice in a Chinese restaurant. Still, it is a nice photo op... I will give it 3 stars.

A great place to forget about daily routine and disconnect from the rest of the world... it’s just ideal to go with your family and friends and spend a great weekend! Last time I was here, I went with a group of 3 friends, we took our cooler and brought our rum and beers! 🍺 we just paid C$50 to get the cooler inside! Tip: *Ask for the coco loco: coconut with rum! Good choice

The price is now 5$. You can get some chairs or tables to sit and relax by the pool. There is a cool swing and a rope over the pool that you can try to cross. They sell coco loco (coconut water with rum) by the pool and also have a restaurant and bathrooms. The water could be cleaner - lot's of leaves, dead insects, etc

  • 4/5 Willem K. 3 years ago on Google
Still giving this a 4 star. You can get spoiled in Nicaragua feeling like nature’s treasures are “yours,” and Ojo de Aqua might feel a bit crowded in comparison. However, comparing it to any popular pool in the US or Europe, and it compares very favorable. $5 entrance fee, and quite some spots to sit. Super clear water, with lots of small fish to admire. The location is incredible, nestled in the green. Maybe downsides: - Seems to attract the “worst” beachgoers and tourists (e.g. loud music, alcohol usage) - The food was pretty awful - Relatively big dogs begging for food, if you mind that (relatively well behaved I should say) - Relatively uncomfortable seating / chairs
