Exceeded expectations- Great food and Music performers Food is great. We have been to other Fado houses, usually the food is mediocre at best. Here - the food rivals the quality of performers. Great music, great food , impeccable service! Recommend shrimp or mackerel for appetizer; octopus for main. But everything is great. Deserts - delicious!

The music was excellent. Food was interesting and good, the servers were attentive but a bit more stuffy than other restaurants we visited. Even subtracting out a good sum for the Fado show, the dinner was over priced for what it was. The layout was a bit awkward in that my dining companion and the person behind him had their back to the performers just a few feet away with no easy way to shift the chair and watch the show. I ended up wishing I had asked our hotel for a Fado recommendation rather than spending as much as we did.

expectations vs reality when you look at great restaurants in Lisbon , oFaia pops up in the to go restaurants and a restaurant since 1947 is usually a good indication that this might be the one that you have been waiting your whole life. the service just outstanding super friendly welcoming helpful and always smiling. the fado, brought me back to my San Francisco student times when my Portuguese roommate was listening to Mariza, it was a blast listing to beautiful singers everything so far so good, the ambiance the decoration all outstanding but then with all these incredible points unfortunately the food is in the second place and couldn’t deliver the level of a great Portuguese cuisine. the liver was just too sweet for my taste, the lamb was just too dry with the spinach and the potato, the octopus unfortunately felt chewy what isn’t a great feeling but then the singer came again and you forgot about the non great food experience, fall back to my San Francisco moments and after the singer was done I hoped the desert will take the lead here but unfortunately the chef kept his standard in making an amateur quality food experience through out. Overall will I come back, no I don’t think so but thanks for the great service and the fantastic singers.

Fado music (singer, plus guitar & mandolin) is a wonderful, emotional experience. Fado has a very long history in Portugal. Unfortunately, I get the sense it's slowly aging out of modern Portuguese music. Even if you don't speak Portuguese, the songs will speak to you. It's very powerful, full of feeling, moving. Strict etiquette: phones OFF, silence during singing. House lights dim to alert you to upcoming set (3 sets per night). Serving, eating, drinking resumes when lights go back up. It's a formal experience, so dress up. O Faia is a beautiful, intimate restaurant. Built in 1947, loads of black & white photos adorn walls. Staff is fantastic. Totally unique experience you won't forget. Important note: location of O Faia is in VERY VERY popular nightlife area. Prearrange a cab and a spot to meet cab BEFORE you go. Concierge should be able to help you. Otherwise, you'll be stuck in a mob scene of inebriated swarms.

Great food and great music at O Faia! This was our first fado experience, it was certainly a memorable one. The service, food, and musical performances were all amazing. Keep in mind this restaurant has more professional fado performances. If you want a more casual experience (eg. the waiter suddenly becomes the fado singer after waiting on a few tables), you should look elsewhere. We were seated at 7:30 and the music started promptly at 9. We stayed for three performances. The performances are approximately 20 minutes long separated by about half an hour of break in between.

The sea bass was amazing and the service. It just wasn't what I thought it would be. The peaceful guitar playing was relaxing....I just wasn't a fan of the singing.

Tips: - Minimum spend €50 per person - Book a table in advance - Call Uber as this place is on a hill - Service is slow as staffs here are outnumbered - The restaurant becomes really dark when there’s a performance - They charge for bread, water, and photos - Some tables have a restricted view. I’m pretty sure a few members from french family next to us couldn’t see fado singers.

This experience was great!! The octopus as the main dish was amazing. Also had the chocolate dessert. It was yummy. The show was incredible! 3 separate Fado singers with two wonderful accompaniments. Really enjoyed this experience and highly recommend!

A wonderful experience. The food was absolutely outstanding and the fado was authentic. Pedro and all the staff were very friendly and more than willing to answer our questions.

The experience of the Fado night is really really hard to put it into right words, it is a true art that deserves all our respect and love. It was the most magical night we had in Lisboa... The food, the wine, the service simply awesome 👌 Obrigado for allowing us to dream and forget about all our worries for a moment. We will never forget this evening ❤

Beautiful and quaint Fado restaurant offering a delicious Portuguese menu and a brilliant Fado show by three performers. The Octupus main is simply superb, especially paired with a glass of green wine.

Overall, had a positive first experience with fado and glad I tried it once. On the restaurant side, the food is ehh but way more expensive than any other restaurant I went to in Portugal. I do get that you are paying for the experience, atmosphere, and the music, so I get the premium. But at the same time, I have higher standards and this was nothing that special. Some of the entries like the mushroom soup I didn’t even like. Also, the service was very slow and I had to ask several times about the status of my wine order. On the music side, the acts were great and I could really hear the passion in all the singers and the musicians. The fado music was beautiful, although it was annoying that people kept trying to record (which was distracting even though the waiters tried their best to stop the recording). So it was nice, but too pricey to go back a second time

Vielen Dank!

This experience is something mandatory for every tourist who really wants to feel Lisbon. I'm not the type of person who listens to this kind of music but I was very very impressed by the singers. The program was spectacular. I appreciated the respect that the place gives to artists and their music. No pictures / filming allowed during the music time, this makes the experience even more exclusive. I would highly recommed anyone to try this, the price is fair considering what you get. Food is very good, staff is high level. Thank you for this evening!

We went last night and had the set menu, a lovely bottle of white wine and enjoyed the Fado show. The food was lovely, the singing was beautiful and the service was outstanding! Our best night in Lisbon so far. Although it's not cheap (72 EURO each for a 3 course menu) we felt it was a fair price, considering the quality of the food and the fact that the show is also included.

I was looking for a place to enjoy a fado show and this was amazing! Had my concern at first since Uber left us two streets down the restaurant. Area around its a young party scene and might not look safe But there was a lot people around and decided to insist and visit. It was a great surprise the food was delicious and the show was mesmerizing. Wine suggestions were to the point and food was served with attention and elegance. I must say Nuno our waiter made the experience extra special for us ! Ambiance it’s intimate and courteous to the Fado Show musicians. While they are playing the waiters restrain from serving and let the customers enjoy the show. Above all it was a great experience. Dinner is 70 euros per person and it doesn’t include the wine or gratuity but includes the show which it’s a must while in Lisbon!

We really enjoyed the Portuguese fado music and food 🎶 Fado is a music of the world that is Portuguese. In its essence, it sings the feeling, the heartbreak, the longing for someone who left, the daily life and the conquests. The food was exceptional!

The best experience ever! We received a recommendation to visit this restaurant in our hotel and could not even imagine how wonderful it would be! For the first time, we listened fado music and the artists blew our minds from the beauty of their voices. The food is delicious, with hints of Portugal, refined and modern. But the best thing that happened to us was that we acquired a person who made our trip to Portugal simply unforgettable. Pedro, you are the best! This business has been owned by Pedro's family for many years, be sure to ask Pedro the history of the restaurant. Also, Pedro knows everything about Portuguese wines and loves to talk about them. He made our evening so memorable that we returned twice more during our six day stay and even celebrated our engagement in O FAIA. An incredible, romantic, cozy place that we definitely recommend to everyone! Suitable for adult groups and dates. Other staff was also very lovely. Every each of them really well trained and professional! Unforgettable, thank you, O FAIA!

My husband and I had a delightful evening at O Faia to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were in excellent hands right from the start with a recommendation for superb Portuguese wine from an ancient grape (Rufete) from the knowledgeable staff. The food was delicious, the waiting staff knowledgeable and experienced. The Fado performance was enchanting. A memorable evening. Thank you all at O Faido for making it such a wonderful evening.

Such beautiful music and delicious foods. Make a reservation ahead of time, a month ahead if you can. Every dish was simply amazing, and our server Jaoa gave excellent recommendations. I recommend coming hungry. The oven baked octopus and the lobster were the best we'd ever had. And the musicians and singers were so skilled and sang with such emotion. Please don't talk during the performances because other will hear even whispering. We will be coming back.

One of the best Fade Restaurant in Lisboa. Reservation is important but you can try your luck and go there spontaneously (maybe a bit later). Live music with famous singers and very good service. Meals was not my type but vine was good.

Amazing place! Excellent service, very friendly staff, good food (tasty, plenty and well presented) and the most beautiful show of Fado! I hope to come back again!!

Absolutely superb food and Fado performance. Food service can start as early as 7:30 pm but music doesn’t start until 9:15. We were very happy with generous portions of fresh seafood such as lobster, octopus, razor clams and shrimp.

We experienced a fantastic evening. We were welcomed into o'Faia by the owner and his staff as if we had been coming there for years. The sommelier guided us fantastically with the choice of wines and drinks. The food was delicious, the staff very attentive and friendly, the Fado musicians gave us a breathtaking evening. o'Faia is the place to be for those who love Fado, good food and friendly service. Thanks to everyone at o'Faia for a great evening!

Excellent food, service, and Fado music show. The food was so much better than one expects for a combination dinner & show experience. Something for everyone from fish to meat to vegetarian. Highly talented performance as well.

Great menu, more on the traditional Portuguese side. Lots of nice wine as well. There are nightly Fado performances during the dining experience. Just amazing and unique. The space is quite small so definitely reserve in advance!

55 euros per person for 3 tasty plates (I chose shrimps, beef/octopus and something sweet) and for fado, 3 different singers, different styles but all wonderful. Un unforgettable evening.
