Great untouched pub, good beer and good food - just as original as they come! Friendly staff and locals.

I went here for a belated birthday meal and from the moment we arrived we were welcomed. The person serving us was amazing. We had some individual food needs, which we were accommodated for. The food was delicious and probably one of the best homemade burgers I've had in a long time! Thank you!

Exactly what you want from a small country pub - good beer with honest plates of food (excellent starters - perfectly cooked squid and whitebait served with brown bread! Keep that up!) - will be back! Game pie delicious, steak good, curry could do more... standard burger very good and vegan burger too, albeit better with non-vagan cheese according to our veggie 😋

Absolutely gorgeous 😍 Really characteristic building which is just divine and my daughter spent her time looking at all the little trinkets everywhere. A lovely open fire! A proper country pub 💗 The staff were super friendly and seemed to appear whenever you wanted/needed something. The food.. oh my god the food!!! Just delicious. Quick service, yummy, and the puddings were next level 😍 We will definitely be back!

We had a great time last night for a joint Birthday celebration. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. All of the food was excellent, we will definitely be coming here more often. Special thanks to the Hungarian lady and of course Martin Kemp.

First visit today and it’s was fantastic! Great atmosphere, very friendly staff and good service. Food was excellent. They had run out of a few things but the pub was very busy and it was late on a Sunday afternoon so not surprising. The staff offered lovely alternatives instead and it was fantastic! Not been to a pub that has ticked all these boxes in years! We will definitely be returning! The only negative we could think of is there isn’t a lot of parking if it’s busy but it’s a fairly quiet road so it wasn’t a problem.

Lovely little pub with friendly staff and good food. They have outdoor seating both by the road and also a secret garden area to the right of the pub between some bushes, you can also see the gliders from lasham on a clear day.

Went for a meal and was amazed by the place itself, very nice old traditional low ceiling pub. The service and friendliness by the owners and staff was very good. Nice selection of ales and a very decent menu with freshly prepared food.

Pretty and quaint, remote location, friendly bar staff, well kept ales. The pub is at the top of a steep road, the perfect location if you are on a bike!

Charming, quintessential, English pub with a great menu of (largely) traditional pub fayre all cooked to a high standard. The wine menu, unusually for a village pub, offers a great range of well selected but affordable wines by the glass and some great value fine wines too. Log fires, cosy and inviting ambiance and great service, well worth going out of your way for a visit. While there we booked part of the restaurant that lends itself perfectly to a private party for 16 over Christmas. Will certainly be back!

Absolutely loved this place, the staff here were friendly and polite. The atmosphere was very cosy and welcoming and the food was outstanding! I had the Sunn Inn burger with a side of onion rings, my partner had the Vegan burger and both of us were blown away with how good the food was. I will definitely be returning!

Atmosphere very conducive to a very pleasant family celebration dinner. The food and menu is outstanding. The chef is obviously very skilled and produces excellent meals. The staff are extremely pleasant and can't do enough for you. They have learnt the art of leaving you to get on with your meal without interruptions but available if you have requirements. If you are looking for an excellent special occasion eat and drink at The Sun Inn Alton, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thank you.
