Minehead Beach

Tourist attraction

πŸ‘πŸ‘ A beautiful flat sandy beach to visit anytime, but obviously nicer in the summer. The panoramic views are amazing from the walkway and sand along the coastline. The tide is usually out, which means plenty of room for walks and families to play or sunbathe. Family friendly with a row of shops, arcades... People often mention beach, tide, sand,

The Con: When the tide is out it’s very dangerous for swimming because there’s sharp barnacle covered boulders, which you can’t see because of the opaque water & the sea bed is slimy & very slippery. Plus theres no lifeguard! - Pro: when the tide is high it’s deep enough to swim. There’s a slim line of soft sand by the sea wall.

Due to the tidal influences the water here is never clear, but this is just sediment and is otherwise good water quality. Swimming could be dangerous (or 'fun', if you don't mind swimming back ashore in Bristol or Ilfracombe - depending on the tide...)

A beautiful beach to go in the summer; the views are amazing, it’s the perfect combination of countryside and coastline. The tide is usually out however it’s a good swim when it’s in. Family friendly with a couple arcades and locally owned food shops on the promenade.

Sewage on the beach at low tide, i wont let our kids swim in the water anywhere in the river estuary, when i pointed to a used tampon and three panty liners to the beach cleaner he just said "you should see it after a storm" so while its nice to look at id stay in the pool at Butlins

Abends traumhaft schΓΆn.

Nice sand at top of beach. Not great for swimming especially when the tide is out. Watch out for very rapid incoming tide!!

Neat and tidy beach. Hassle-free car park on road which is right Infront of the beach and plenty of outlets for food and games. Also very convenient access to SW coastal pathway for a nice walk. Not to forget Butlin's is right across the street.

Lovely beach walk very clean, sand/stone. Tides are in early and then out later in the day. Dog walking friendly although I believe this restricted over the summer season

Brilliant sand and stone beach with shops and shacks located all along the beach. All the classic beach foods within stone throw distance. Nice ramp disabled entrance in the centre of the beach path. Brilliant high street if you like your shopping. Good for making memories. Lots of cool art dotted around the area great for kids.

We went during low tide so it was miles out lol……but good for walking and a lovely view of the welsh side. Seemed clean enough. I can imagine it’s chaos at times due to butlins being just across the road.
