Great place, amazing food, lovely staff! Shame it’s so hidden because it’s so worth trying. The ragu was sensational as was the Tiramisu! Will definitely be back! Give it a go

Wow what a lovely Italian in Hale. It is up a flight of stairs and we popped in for lunch. The chef from Puglia is excellent. We had scallops, chicken, breaded cheese. All fantastically cooked and excellent service. There is pizza and pasta at reasonable prices but we went for the ciccietti. Not cheap but delicious.

A wonderful intimate restaurant with beautifully prepared food served by friendly attentive staff. Great value and reasonable priced. The stairs are not a problem as the steps are wide with landings set in. I will return very soon.

I dined here with friends we had a fab evening. The food was all delicious we went for the small plates and shared. All dishes were cooked and presented beautifully the scallops and cod were my highlight. Wehad bread fish and veggie dishes. The service is great very friendly and attentive. Wine prices are reasonable and the wines were lovely. We will def return and would highly recommend am excited to try the pasta and pizza

This is one of the best italian restaurants in Hale. It is indeed a small place but it is a family run business and the food is just amazing.Mirco, the owner is the chef and he always makes sure that his customers are having the best experience. We have been here several times, the place is cosy and welcoming, all the dishes that we have tried were so tasty.We were impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. Mirco makes his own fresh pasta for the cannelloni, lasagna and tortelloni and you can actually taste the difference. It is like actually being in Italy. We noticed that they have a fixed menu 2/3 courses for the whole month of December and also a Christmas and New Year menu. If you like good quality food and cosy atmosphere this is the place.

What a great little find! The restaurant is on the first floor up a flight of stairs opposite the clock tower in Hale. We visited on a Friday night for a family birthday celebration. The food was beautifully and expertly cooked and presented and the service was really attentive. The children’s portions were incredibly generous and went down a storm. I’d really recommend the seabass and salmon and all for incredibly reasonable prices. For a relaxed, reasonably priced night out, you can’t go wrong!

Our first visit. We enjoyed our meals (lasagne and pizza). The server was friendly and helpful. The interior is pleasant and smart. We were seated by the window and enjoyed a good view of evening life in Hale. This restaurant is upstairs and the toilets are up another flight of stairs so not suitable for disabled access. They serve Sunday lunch and offer an Early Bird menu. We would visit again if we are in the area.

The Sunday roast was one of the best I’ve had around here, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. I loved the family style of the restaurant too. Probably the most pleasant dining experience I’ve had in Hale. I’ll definitely be returning, probably to try some of the more traditional Italian dishes. Highly recommend.

Well having seen plenty of attempts by many to pretend to be an Italian restaurant we finally have one !!!!……. Here in Hale. Delicious food home cooked and the restaurant owned by the chef, his mother in the kitchen and his wife front of house. Kid yourself no more this is the real deal and delicious- a must try !!!!

Visited today after rave local reviews and it surpassed our expectations. Fantastic produce , freshly cooked with a contemporary twist. Sample of the food we ate which were all delicious, pork belly, scallops, wild boar ragusa gnocchi, garlic bread with cheese and blueberry cake. Drink choice was fantastic and ambience and service was sublime. Forgive me if I spelt this wrong but Florin ( Excellent waiter ) and Markul ( Extremely talented chef ) gave us a fantastic afternoon! My wife and I went to “il Trullo” restaurant in Hale for Valentine's Day dinner. The restaurant is small but very nice and very well decorated. The food was very good and the staff very kind and friendly. Highly recommended, we will for sure be back. Thank you

Wow, what a fantastic place. Went yesterday to celebrate my sister's birthday. We had a mix of the cicchetti style dishes (little dishes) for sharing. Prawns, Lamb skewers, gorgeous Arancini, Chicken strips, meatballs and the most amazing Beef Tagliata. Wonderful food, really nice people and a super relaxed atmosphere. Brilliant. Thank you.

So disappointed with this restaurant. Went tonight for my dad's 80th birthday. I thought it was a safe bet based on the reviews, but I was wrong. Pros first: polite, pleasant staff, nice decor, nice house wine. The main meals were nice enough, but my husband's lasagne arrived really burnt, so had to be sent back. They then said they'd run out of chips. My dad and I shared a few dishes from the sharing tapas type menu. King prawns in Parma ham were really overcooked. Beef cheeks were nice, lamb skewers were overcooked and chewy and the scallop dish arrived and had only 1 small scallop sliced into 3 with some salami under it. Looked like 3 10p pieces for over £9. Would not recommend sorry.

This nice little restaurant is a wonderful delight. The service was excellent all the way and food very satisfying. Excellent value for money too.

This place is an absolute treasure. Warm, friendly and most importantly outstanding, delicious food. There are the places to be 'seen' in Hale and then there are the places to EAT in Hale. There is none better than Il Trullo. Highly recommend the beef fillet and beeg tagliata and the aramcini are incredible. The quality of the ingredients shine though and the presentation is beautiful but most importantly the taste is exquisite.

What a hidden Gem. Beautiful food. If only I has took the young girls name who waited on our table. She is so lovely & helpful. I will be returning.
