Great place to learn about the textile industry during the industrial revolution. The mill has exhibits about the people who worked there and has regular demonstrations of the machines. The gardens are also very nice to walk through. There are many buildings to go through and lots to see. Some buildings are timed entry so keep that in mind while planning. Staff are very helpful and informative. Entrance fee is pretty high but there is so much to do, you could easily spend all day there. And entrance is free for national trust members.

Weaving Shed Restaurant is at the mill yard. In the restaurant, we could leisurely enjoy the beautiful scene of the long lane along the river. The staff are very polite and proactive. The menu all look fabulous as shown in the pictures. We hadn’t expected such a luxury place before we came. How wonderful it is.

A great National Trust with lots of history and things to see. Good walks around the grounds and further in the woods nearby. On site facilities include shop, cafe, bookshop and toilets. The mill is a great place to walk around and see the displays and history.

Built in 1784, this is one of the best preserved textile factories from the Industrial Revolution. It's easily possible to spend a full day here. The friendly staff are happy to answer any questions and help visitors. There's so much to see with the machinery and various artefacts in the mill itself, engines, mill wheel, gardens, lovely walks in the grounds, apprentice house, village cottages, shop and restaurant.

The National Trust have not shied away from the grim realities of the Industrial Revolution. Alongside the still working machinery are displays detailing the links with slavery and the treatment of women and children. The mill owner's house next door is thought provoking, as the juxtaposition of rich and poor is before your eyes.

A lovely place for a day out. There are many trials to choose. At the back of the reception, a map shows the estimated time for each trail. Down the ramp, there are shops, restaurants and toilets. Bring wellies, so children could play on the steam. Many bridges there, they are all very beautiful

Fantastic place to visit. Excellent attraction that brings the past to life. From seeing the water mill wheel turning to seeing, hearing and feeling the power of the machines working to visiting the apprentice house where the child workers were housed this site gives a thorough sense of what it was like to work in one of these factories. 4 star is to reflect the outrageous prices of food and drink (Β£2.25 for a can of coke!).

It's the most impressive place I've seen for last year. Absolutely amazing! Although we made only House and Mill. Definitely will come again to enjoy the park. The old, still working factory, is amazing. The fabric can be bought in the shop near the mill entrance. Ask for the tour to listen about the history.

Fascinating place to visit, so much of our heritage preserved for future generations to experience, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, the guided tour of the apprentice house was intriguing. To see the looms in action was great to see. Lovely walks within the grounds, will definitely return.

Highly recommend a full day visit here - there is so much to see. The staff are exceptional and do a wonderful job bringing the story of the mill to life. Lovely items in the shop including some made at the mill.

A great day out, especially if NT members already. Gardens are huge with games and toys to entertain young ones. The mill is a pleasant way to spend an hour. Make sure you book a time to visit the apprentice house upon arrival. Small groups are permitted to enter and have a guided tour but spaces are limited. Have been visiting for years and would recommend for young families looking for a day out. Cafe available or bring a picnic.

Lovely place to visit. Friendly, informative staff & volunteers. Tour guides are great, in costume & involve all ages of visitors into their talks. Lots of places to have a picnic. Restaurant as expected not cheap but serve tasty light meals.

Very interesting place enjoyed my tour of the mill but not great that coach drivers don't even get a free cup of tea when bringing in 40 plus customers. Long queue for food and most things sold out.

So much to do here! Having visited many times before, we only popped in for tea and a cake and a short garden stroll, but there are lots more areas to explore since we were last here. The glasshouse is now fully restored, but at 5pm ee were too late. We will definitely come back over ther summer.

I had wanted to visit Quarry Bank Mill for a long time and I loved it. It was a lovely day out, the apprentice house tour was really good and the guide was excellent, even the food we had in the restaurant was good. In fact all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful and just wanted to help you have a very good experience at QBM.

Quarry Bank mill is a remarkable piece of industrial history and one of the few places it's possible to see any of the machinery in its original setting, let alone working. The staff running the machines are knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. The mill itself is surrounded by some lovely grounds and gardens, most of which require the national trust ticket to enter. These are pleasant to walk around and explore, and are surprisingly large. Some exhibits close before the mill, and some are attended by tours only, tickets for which can be bought on the day. Overall this is a good half to full day out and an excellent attraction if you wish to understand more about the forces that shaped the industrial north.
