Had a very nice meal in the end. Unfortunately, both items I ordered were not available so had to order something else! They should have known those dishes were not available when we ordered! Service wasn't so good considering not a lot of people in! They didn't ask if everything was alright and had to get their attention when we needed nore drinks. It hasn't put me off as the hotel and bar are very nice..

Visited restaurant , service poor as some of the waiting staff need more training. Finger bowl should be provided for prawn dish. Had to ask for dessert to be completed as only part served. Rather expensive for the quality of the food and drink.

Absolutely brilliant place. Staff couldn't do enough for you. All Staff were fantastic friendly and genuine. Accommodation was spot on. Sometimes you can stay somewhere and you feel there's no atmosphere etc. Stannylands was/is very homely. I am a massive dog lover so for me it was absolutely great to see the managers beautiful dog time to time being walked outside. I cannot find anything negative about Stannylands,so it just leaves me to say an enormous, THANK YOU. TONY DARBY

We held our Employee Values Awards celebration here last night and the service from booking to the event itself was excellent. Big shout out to the Chef and bar staff the food was delicious and the bar service was great. Staff were really friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble

DAVID & the colleague who checked us out at 04.15 on the Tuesday morning of the 9th May 2023 ( we neglected to remember his name sorry) was very helpful, checked to see if our taxi transfer was on it's way, then helped us with our suitcases to the taxi, really fantastic service. The room was very clean & well maintained. We thank you all. P.S. the restaurant staff were also very helpful & polite & patient with us whilst we decided what meals we required.

A great stay, lovely rooms very comfortable. A good restaurant, delicious food. Beautiful location, immaculate gardens. Short taxi ride from Manchester Airport so convenient for a stopover.

A really solid 4 stars. I love this place. It is not a word that I use very often but charming covers it. All of the staff have convinced me that (not in words but in demeanor and actions) that they enjoy working there. There is a nice feel to the hotel. Bar and food is great. I have only used the hotel for work, but it is a place that I would like to bring my wife.

The Stanneylands has to be the friendliest place to stay. I brought my dog with me this time and all of the staff were so kind to her. I had a 'dog room' which was a little tired but it was respectful to non-doggy guests to have a room for dogs, which was also perfectly positioned near one of the exits. The room was very large, the bed supremely comfortable and the shower a really good pressure. Dinner was absolutely delicious as was breakfast. I was asked to eat in the lovely bar area because I had a dog with me and that seemed to be a sensible thing to do. At every meal, a bowl of water was brought for my dog! How fab was that. A thoroughly enjoyable stay - thank you very much.

Stayed here for 1 night. 2 star service as I didn't feel that the restaurant service was great. For example I wasn't asked if I wanted desert or coffee after my meal. My drink was taken from my table before I had finished it. The room I stayed in was clean, standard drink facilities etc... I was given a £10 drinks voucher for booking direct with the hotel, which I appreciated.

Absolutely excellent from the initial contact to book a meeting room, bedrooms and dinner. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. Our dinner in the restaurant was excellent and it was a busy evening for a Tuesday. Would highly recommend and will be returning to hold further meetings.

I have stayed in plenty of hotels and also worked in the service industry and I can say this is a great hotel. We went for my in-laws 80th birthday and were treated very well from start to finish. Special mention must go to the chap working the bar and restaurant who was chatty and supplied everything for us quickly when requested even if we didn't end up using the cake boxes etc. He also sympathised with me as I was drinking soda water. The evening meal was the only weak point, good but the pie didn't live up to my expectations, I just expected it to be cheesier. Need to up thier game as a good pub does great food these days. Breakfast was very nice but ran out of fried eggs (it was my second visit to the buffet though, I had eaten a couple already). Have stayed in far more expensive hotels where the breakfast was not enough for a church mouse, put a downer on the whole experience as it is the last thing you do before you leave... Was the bill for you 1st round of drinks right? Single malibu and diet coke, pint soda water and a San Miguel, £16.85. If you want a party, perhaps go somewhere else. Will we be back? Very likely although the other half likes to try new places.

Welcome was unwelcoming. Comfy bed. Bathroom not as clean as it should be. The previous guest's key card wallet was still in the room. Menus in room were dirty. Breakfast was poor. Minimal service. Tea served from a flask and tasted of stale coffee. Hot buffet food wasn't hot, despite us being there at the start of the breakfast service. I suspect that the food might be warmer later as it was in cabinets above heaters. Cold mushrooms were not pleasant. Check out lacked any level of interest in us or the stay. Hotel has potential but management needs improving. The staff seem lacking in motivation. Overall not value for money.

All I can say is that they need new real Chefs and better trained front of house staff. In 2 days they never asked us anything. The only one who cares is the house keeping lady, she is a lovely person and she should be the general manager in my opinion... And that says a lot about the place Nice reception area and restaurant is very nicely decorated but that is not enough especially when you have bad Chefs so not recommended. If they give you room 104 do not take it, it's facing the bin area and delivery point so it will be noisy and smelly

My husband and I decided to have breakfast here this morning and on our arrival I’ve ask the waitress if I could choose where to sit and she said anywhere is fine. However as soon as I sat another lady came and said I could only sit on tables where the coffee cups are set up for breakfast. I said I wanted to sit near the window with a nice view but she insisted I have to sit near another window where the coffee cups are set up! However as soon as we relocated another couple came and sat exactly where I wanted to sit and the waitress simply swapped their wine glasses with coffee cups for them. Now it was the time to order, I’ve ordered garden breakfast which is their vegan option. This breakfast comes with a plant base patty which is the main part of the breakfast however when I got my breakfast there wasn’t a patty on my plate. The person who brought my breakfast didn’t say anything so I assumed I ordered the wrong thing. However when I checked the menu a veggie patty was definitely there. I called the waitress and she said she’d check with the chef, surly enough she came back saying they’ve ran out of veggie patty. I just said why wasn’t I informed and given the chance to choose something else, she just apologised and left. I wasn’t offered a partial refund for the missing item on my breakfast and I left the restaurant hungry as the vegan sausages were so powdery, dry and inedible so I just had a mushroom a tomato and some beans and one hash brown for a breakfast that I’ve paid £13 for.

We had our WI Christmas lunch at the hotel. Delicious food, excellent service, and outstanding ambience and attention to detail. Will definitely return.

We recently got married and chose The Stanneylands to have our pre-wedding meal the evening before with 40 guests. We also had our room block here as our venue did not have enough room for all our guests. The service was fantastic, both during booking and the stay. Vanessa and Josh went above and beyond to make sure everything was sorted. The rooms were a little smaller than I'd thought as we had superior doubles, and it the lighting was definitely not great for doing wedding make up in the morning. However the beds were super comfy and the breakfast was great!

Nice cosy hotel, room was clean but a little dusty, including the desk and tables. Very loud heating when it comes on at 6am but rooms were lovely and warm. Temple spa toiletries were a nice touch. Restaurant was okay, food was tasty but service finished earlier than expected. Breakfast in the morning was good but service was slow and not very attentive. Had to ask many times for sauces, cutlery and to order hot food and also asked for tea that never came. Staff never asked how the stay was when checking out and seemed quite busy. Would stay again due to location and price.

So all venues have occasional staffing problems at the moment, but the issue I had was handled impeccably (in fairness beyond what I would reasonably expect). Cleanliness was excellent, team were terrific and was a great place to be. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Nice friendly hotel with amazing interior. Room was a little small / cramped. The only down side to our stay was that we had to ask on 2 occasions it they could turn the outside garden speaker off 10:30pm. The speaker was right next to our room window and we had a flight at 3am.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Stayed here 3 times now. Lovely food. All the staff are so welcoming. Highly recommended. Reasonably priced. Very, very pleasant place to stay. 10 minutes from Manchester Airport.

My partner and I stayed at The Stanneylands for a night and we really liked it; the staff were lovely - really helpful and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and immaculate, really liked the inclusion of Temple Spa products in the bathroom - very nice touch. We had breakfast in the morning, the restaurant has a lovely feel to it and we really loved the decor (took some inspiration pics!), the food was really nice and breakfast itself felt unhurried, like we could have stayed there as long as we wanted to without being hustled out! I really like that.

Wow! A fabulous hotel with extra attentive staff. We were guests at a wedding and stayed over, from start to finish it was amazing. Great room, comfy bed, the staff couldn't do enough for you. An absolute credit to John Willie lees.

The staff was great. The room is dated with a noisy uneven floor including gaps that you can dip into. Wafer thin walls, you hear the next room as if they are within your room. No plugs near the bed. So no chance to keep the mobile close while changing. The restaurant was alright, lovely staff and nice food (4 stars). For Instagram photos there is an opportunity for a couple of shot areas.

Exquisitely decorated hotel, excellent service and great rooms. Plus exciting afternoon tea and food to enjoy even if you're not staying. Will very happily stay again 😀 Generous car parking on site too.

On the bright side, is a lovely building, the rooms are clean, neat and comfortable, it is a nice area, the staff is great and the restaurant is excellent. Now, this is not the place for a good rest. It isn't silent: You can hear normal volume conversation and TV from the room surrounding yours as if they were standing next to your bed. I was unlucky enough to get a room on the ground floor, the aisle right our the door has a lot of traffic, so you could hear people walking by and talking... Some of them may have normal conversations for a long time outside your room and you will hear it all. The pillows are terrible. I'd come back to eat, hopefully not to stay.

The Stanneylands hotel is well kept and has excellent modern interior design. It was nice and open and the food and drink was exceptional! Complements to the chef because it really was that good. However the service was unacceptable. While I waited for my partner to return from the bar she arrived clutching two glasses, an ice bucket with a bottle of champagne and her purse. We paid £49 for this and although it was quiet no help was offered. Staff were just hanging around and to use the word lackadaisical would be an understatement. The room we stayed in was a deluxe double and the décor was really nice and we slept in a big and comfortable bed. Unfortunately the bathroom was really small and the water pressure in the shower was clearly struggling. Our stay was good and we enjoyed ourselves but there are just a few minor issues that need to be sorted in my opinion. Especially the bar staff!

Food was delicious and service was quick and efficient. Staff here are always friendly and welcoming. Only one problem which we have noticed a few times. Children running around up and down the stairs, Banging and shouting. It Spoilt the experience for us. Parents should be informed that children are welcome but should remain seated . Apart from anything else its dangerous when the staff are walking round with hot food etc

I stayed at the Stanneylands recently. Rooms were good, nice big window and the TV is decent. Plugs are a bit limited, none by the bed side table so bring an extension cord I guess. The wifi seems to stop working at night, and the cell signal is terrible here so good luck. WiFi is really slow too. I wish my review for the restaurant was a good. I’ve been here twice and every time the restaurant sucks. I don’t know why I put my self through it each time, should have just gone to spoons, better value for money. Had dinner (steak) and it was cold when it arrived. Sent it back and had an other one delivered, this time it was so raw I could still hear it mooing, worst part is they still expected me to pay full price for waiting 2 hours for a meal. Worst part, the meal the second time round was still cold. (See photos) I ordered medium rare The steak was £26 and it was terrible, small cut and hardly any onion rings. Breakfast was not amazing. The meat was definitely undercooked again (common theme) and gave me a bad stomach, the bacon was basically leather, and this was at 7:45AM.

Took the breakfast in the morning, my scrambled eggs had a piece of eggshell. The coffee was a bit cold and lacked of flavour. The glass of milk for my coffee was dirty. I actually took a photo. The tables had some leftovers and the service didn't clean it up right away -I was there for 15 minutes. I have a picture as well. I asked for some cocoa to add onto my milk and the service said they didn't have any, kind of strange since I saw the menu and it offers milkshakes (?) The sockets were a bit disassembled from the wall and couldn't plug my charger. It was the room 104. I had dinner on Monday and it was good but it took more than 20 minutes to receive my main meal. The carpets were clean but look old and that cheapens the room. There was no A/C just a fan. I liked the sparkling water offered in the room. Reception was very helpful by asking me a taxi. The decoration of the restaurant is nice and very elegant.

Have stayed here before and is a bit of an oasis in this busy area. It is very competitively priced. food is very good and room excellent. Staff are plentiful and all were friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stanneylands and will be staying here again.

We can’t recommend the Stanneylands enough. We were all looked after for our Son and New daughter-in-laws wedding. Lee was an absolute star for the 5 days of our visit, he’s an asset to the hotel and the team and he made our stay outstanding. Thank you to the whole team at Stanneylands
