SO disappointing! We booked for brunch on Easter Monday, with a deposit request upon booking, and expected great things; sadly there is nothing great to report. The food wasn't at all good (never mind great) but the service was the worst bit! There was one lovely Italian (I think) gentleman that helped us and seemed to understand good service, but if it wasn't for him we would have asked for a refund.

One of the worst meals I had in a long while. Website mentions foodie experts, new chef, menu says ask for special dishes. There's none. Prices are keen, £25 for a hot pot and 22.75 for a breaded chicken are rather discouraging, but perhaps that's the idea. Feeling somewhat lukewarm I skipped the starters and opted for cod en croute, sweetcorn bisque, torched corn, fondant potato. I rather avoid seasoning at the table, good chef should know the precise seasoning levels to complement the dish, for this one I nearly emptied the pot trying to inject some flavour. The bisque was nothing more than a can of blitzed sweetcorn, skins and all, watery, tasteless splodge, the corn was two pieces of limp baby corn, also unseasoned. The potato was clearly cooked a long while ago and badly reheated. Solid lump with brown top. The only good thing was the fish, cooked surprisingly well and covered with a sheet of puff pastry. Had no dessert or anything else, left hungry. Not sure who are they trying to appeal to, all day breakfast people? Drink parties? Certainly not the kind that would appreciate food or relaxing atmosphere. The whole meal was accompanied by very loud dance club style music. If the courthouse still had a judge, the restaurant would be condemned to death.

We took advantage of the very good deal of 40% off main meals for January with a table of 10. We were booked in for 12, and the food arrived at 1, which was OK for us because we weren't in a hurry, but wasn't terribly quick. Most at the table had Sunday lunch which was OK, the portion was a bit stingy on vegetables and had a bit of style over substance about it. It was fine given the deal, but I would not have been particularly impressed if we paid full price. The service wasn't terribly good, we had 1 bottle of water for the table when we asked for some, and when the waitress came to the table to ask about more drinks she only asked half the group at one end of the table. Despite the wait at the beginning, when we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, we were also told that they wanted the table back in 15 minutes. Really nice location, decor was a bit random considering the lovely building with fake leaves in abundance and steel girders around the bar - would have thought that the venue could have embraced the historic charm of the building a little more.

Booked for Christmas Lunch. Nice decor and atmosphere in the restaurant but the lighting was so dim you could not see the dishes you were eating. Service was very slow and it took a long time between each course. Over 2 hours for 3 courses. Sadly the food was all just about edible. Not worth the money paid and will not go back. Had a similar experience with long wait on drinks service only a few days earlier where we waited 20 mins for drinks that never came and the bar was near empty. These are the only two times I have been in there.

My friend and I took advantage of the free main meal offer that she got through the post, we were really looking forward to an nice afternoon lunch. On arrival the staff were really helpful and the menu looked quite inviting. I ordered the fish and chips.. well if you had told me it had come from the chippy down the road I would have believed you!!! The chips were supposed to be triple cooked, they absolutely were not!! The fish like I said could have been from the local chippy!! My friend ordered the Cannelloni, it was cold in parts so clearly not been reheated properly. It was much better than a microwave meal. The prices were ridiculously expensive I am just relieved we didn’t have to pay for it. Would not recommend and won’t be returning.

Took my wife for afternoon tea for her birthday, the entire venue was empty and completely dead except for us! It ended up been the worst experience we’ve ever had. The sandwiches were stale and looked like they were from a wedding the day before. My wife had a fly in her coffee the moment it came out, we were told we would be getting home made cakes, but they looked like they had been bought from a shop and were past their due by date. I literally never write bad reviews but the whole experience was horrendous! We told the staff and they literally couldn’t care less! I had to slap myself I thought we were been pranked or it was some sort of practical joke! Shocking literally

Sorry to say so so disappointed with our dining experience. Waited over 35 minutes to be approached by a member of the serving staff to get a bottle of water in the table. A further prompt by us another 20 minutes for them to take our food order. Sorry guys if you want customers to return you’ll have to do much much better. No interaction, no interest, no knowledge of the menu. Please don’t serve nice crisp white wine in hot glasses straight from the dishwater. Sad to say we won’t be returning anytime soon which is a shame because we live supporting local businesses- thankfully there’s a lot of local choice for us to spend our money

Great idea….Great service…..Great place…but… very disappointing unimaginative menu. Best part of the meal was the Prosecco! Had the roast pork which was over cooked and dry. Need to improve if they are going to be successful, in my opinion. Liked the place despite tho

My partner booked us in for Sunday roast to celebrate my birthday. We shouldn't have bothered, place was empty except for us. On the walk in there was a smashed wine glass, presumably from night before that our dog almost stepped on. Was seated by a friendly guy and given the menus where the Sunday special recommended highlight being a Bloody Mary so we ordered one each only for them to 10 minutes later tell us they were out of tomato juice. (This has happened once before when we came for a drink). We decided on food and ordered. 40 minutes later the food arrived and I wish it didn't. Everything was re-heated. Parsnip and carrot chewy and cold, potatoes no where near crispy on outside and horrible, the list goes on. We had ordered a cauliflower cheese and lady came out with Bang bang cauliflower and seemed extremely annoyed when we told here we hadn't ordered it but said she'd get the cauliflower cheese out ASAP. Wish they'd taken the time as it was undercooked. When asked how our meal was we told the truth (barely average) and lady went silent for a good minute before asking if we'd like some fresh potatoes in an annoyed tone. We said we were just gonna deal with what we had, decided to actually just leave it, pay and go somewhere else. Never returning here again.

Just been for the Santa Saturday experience. It's the best we've been to (including very expensive ones!). The Santa was very realistic and so good with the kids. We had a whole 15 mins with him in a private room. The hotel staff were very attentive. I believe the manager was Raleigh who was exceptionally great with our kids. The listed building, interior design and Christmas decorations made it beautiful for photos too Looking forward to trying a dinner in the gorgeous bar-restaurant and will look out for the family events.

Such a shame as have been one of their pubs, where the food was brilliant. But, this meal was poor. Staff fine and looks cool inside. Most people in our party had the roast dinner, and I had the duck. All were really below what we'd expected.

We visited on Sunday evening, when we arrived at the restaurant we saw a 2 courses for £20 on Sundays before 7pm written in the specials board when we sat down at our table, we enquired about this offer, to be told they won’t honour it, for no apparent reason despite us visiting at 6.30pm. We had 20 minutes to decide our food, only when the waiter was taking our order were we told that both the drink and main meal one individual was ordering wasn’t available. Given that there is only a small menu on Sunday you would have expected to have been told this upon receiving the menu. The food then took an hour to come out. A side dish that was ordered, didn’t arrive, after notifying the waiter we were told it would take 4-5 minutes to make and it would be out shortly. It never arrived. There were only 4 tables at the time of our visit yet 6/7 waiting staff, each visit to our table was from a different member of staff. When it came to the bill, surprising this was correct, however when the waiter went away to apply a discount to our bill, after signing up to the membership, he then proceed to return to the table and announce the total bill to the whole table. Really bad etiquette when the bill was being paid for by 1 person as a treat. All in all this restaurant had lots of potential in terms of decor and food, but the service was one of the worst I’ve experienced especially when paying premium prices. It was meant to be a lovely evening as a family to regroup after a tough week and it was really disappointing.

what a quirky little restaurant. event though its over the road from the high street I'm so glad I took a chance because I really enjoyed my self the staff were so friendly including the manager who knew a lot about the history of the courthouse. which is so great to hear. staff members taking time to research the history of the building. there cocktail menu is all based on the courthouse as well eg. the enigma, judges bloody sour and the prosecutor. will definitely be coming back it was so lovely!

What a gem ! Me and my friends went to the Courthouse for drinks and few nibbles. They had a live music on and the place was buzzing with people. We ordered amazing cocktails and lovely nibbles. Rali especially was excellent and very attentive. This place has it truly all. We sure will be back for more 🥂

came here with friends for dinner, we have eaten here before but thought we would try the new menu as it was 30% off for Flat Cap Members. Would definitely recommend. our server Brooke was absolutely brilliant and very smiley and Rali was there to answer all our questions and enquiries for future visits. made our experience even better.

We have been to the court house for drinks a few times and have always enjoyed it and been pleased with the service. Me and my partner came in for a meal and some drinks the other week, we had a lovely waitress and bar tender called Crystal. She was very attentive, polite, and ensured we were happy with our meal and drinks. She was very hard working and made some lovely cocktails. The Court house is quiet in the week so a good place to go for a meal if you aren’t into busy restaurants. There is also a nice place out the front of the building to sit if the weather is nice.

Went for a meal to celebrate my sons 40th..... Never again The first person had their meal brought out.. They had finished before the fifth person had their meal the last person to get the meal and everyone had finished their meals. Some food needed to be sent back as it was cold and greasy So she was eating alone.. Onion rings were cut in half and shared between two people. The burger was raw in the middle and I mean red raw... I felt sorry for the young lady serving us.. She was brilliant. Every thing else was very very poor. We had booked a private room.. A. Bloke and his dog strolled through to get to his room I imagine.. Again the young lady serving us ushered him out of the room and apologised Look some where else, because that is what we will be doing

The staff at The Courthouse, Knutsford are exceptional. Particularly Brooke, (trainee deputy manager) who always goes that extra mile with regards to my regular bookings of The Moneypenny Suite and Karan (waiting on staff) who made our meal in the restaurant a memorable one. Keep up your great customer service Courthouse team x

We only nipped in for ten minutes as we’d bought a Too good to go bag out of interest as we’d never seen one from here before, while there all I can say how great Rali was! From greeting us to us leaving, he certainly made us feel welcome and was very friendly. Food was lovely too so we certainly plan to come have a sit down meal at some point from this.

Went there with a couple of friend for a Sunday roast as it looked like an interesting place to visit and it didn’t disappoint… Had a warm welcome by Brooke drinks arrived dead quick without having to queue at a bar pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food you could tell that it’s fresh. Well done to the chap that made the recommendation for me to try the cider glazed ribs I think his name was Rali. If you’re reading this mate them were amazing and thanks for making that cocktail for me that wasn’t on the menu! Highly recommend this place!

We went for our anniversary dinner here and all I can is wow! Our server James was amazing. I have a gluten intolerance and he was helpful and so willing to advise and ensure we had the best time. The chef was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. We will be back so thank you James and the team for an amazing meal and experience.

First time I have come here and I can honestly say I was blown away by my experience tonight. I have come here for my birthday with friends and had such a good time! We were approached by Richard the General Manager who made our night personal and we were all looked after the whole evening. Would highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back. 😊

Nice venue, pleasant atmosphere. Sunday lunch, always special with good friends. Meat of the day was lamb, not the best l have tasted, tough and not particularly well presented. Stuffing not required, also pigs in blankets. We didn't have dessert or coffee, came back home for that. A disappointing meal but nice to be out with good company. I would not particularly recommend the restaurant on today's experience.

Amazing hotel! I stayed here over Christmas with my mum and pup. The staff were very friendly and made a lot of fuss over Hugo (my pup) ensuring he wasn’t left out of the festivities. The bar was stunning, great music and cocktails and a beautiful ambience. The manager Jemma was very polite and accommodated our every need. All of the staff were very professional and helped make a lovely Christmas we will never forget. Definitely recommend!

A great little find. Don’t let the grand exterior intimidate you. Inside you find a beautifully designed cosy bar. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming that after originally only stopping by for a drink we decided to opt for the small plates deal. It did not disappoint! The pork ribs especially were amazing they literally fell off the bone. Thank you to all the team, especially Ben for looking after us so well!

Really enjoyed our stay in a Standard King room. Was lovely and spacious. Staff really friendly and approachable. There was no lift to the room, but I was aware of this in advance. Hotel has nice character. Hotel provided a cot for my newborn and there was ample room for it in the room.

Lovely building, quite a dark interior and fairly noisy with singer / music background, Not sure it really knows what it wants to be. The restaurant is fine but service isn't great because there's also a bar in the middle, and the staff have to serve people demanding drinks there. We moved tables as we were too close to the bar and the sink obviously needs the services of Dino Rod as the smell wasn't pleasant. We ordered cocktails which arrived eventually (recommend the virgin mango and banana lemonade) and meals which ranged from fish and chips to sirloin steak and from burger to sausages and mash. These were actually very nice, but again served eventually, and we had to ask for condiments (one of the party went to the bar) as well as further drinks. Dessert choices were mostly sticky toffee pudding all round; none of which were hot probably due to sitting on the side for a while till the staff have time to attend to them. So I would say the owner needs to reconsider what he or she (or they) thinks this place should be -- bar or restaurant? The two don't really mix due to the impact on the service to both bar users and restaurant users.

Beautiful food, great service and lovely surroundings. Fab setting convenient for train, shops, pictures or tatton for a spot of lunch or supper. Had a snoop and the function rooms are stunning too. Free parking always a bonus. Will definitely return.

What an amazing space... Loved the way it was all set up as you walked through to the rooms. It was a bit like a film set, really beautiful. All the rooms are upstairs, a big imposing staircase, stone stairs and a solid wooden rail rake you to your room. Everywhere is very dark and lowly lit to create a moody atmosphere. Our room was nice, compact but enough space. We had plug sockets for charging next to the bed, important for me, tea and coffee making and a complimentary bag of crisps which were very enjoyable!! I absolutely loved the toiletries in the bathroom, super nice very luxurious The bed was comfy and we slept really well There is an adjoining bar downstairs which was also decorated beautifully with a large olive tree taking centre stage, strewn with lights. They serve food here but on the day we arrived the kitchen was closed so maybe check ahead.. We did go in for a drink though Parking is easy, it's free and directly in front of this incredible, imposing building... Great location situated at the top of the high street, easy access to all that Knutsford has to offer
