We
booked
for
7.30
on
a
Saturday
night
and
arrived
shortly
before
our
reservation
time.
We
were
welcomed
by
a
friendly
lady
who
saw
us
to
our
table,
and
took
our
drinks
order.
The
restaurant
was
extremely
quiet
for
a
Saturday
night
with
only
one
other
party
of
three
eating.
After
studying
the
menu
for
ten
minutes
I
was
really
looking
forward
to
the
“legendary
cheese
and
onion
pie”
😋
We
were
then
approached
by
a
different
member
of
staff,
who
informed
us
there
was
no
cheese
and
onion
or
steak
pie
left.
Wow
-
only
7.30
on
a
Saturday
night
with
hardly
any
diners
and
they
have
run
out
of
pies!
I
settled
for
fish
and
chips
which
wasn’t
great.
Batter
soggy,
not
crispy
and
cold
at
the
thin
end
and
mushy
peas
were
lukewarm.
Obviously
had
been
sat
as
the
fish
had
sweated
causing
the
batter
to
go
soggy.
My
wife
had
the
lamb
shank
which
she
described
as
“okay
but
nothing
special”.
A
pub
or
restaurant
should
not
be
running
out
of
core
menu
stock
at
7.30
on
a
Saturday
night,
especially
when
virtually
empty.
If
they
are
popular
dishes,
make
sure
you
have
plenty
of
stock
to
be
able
to
meet
demand
during
service,
and
bring
food
out
promptly
or
get
your
timings
right
so
dishes
don’t
sweat
and
cool
unnecessarily.
This
is
unprofessional
and
is
easily
avoidable.
I
hope
the
greyhound
take
my
comments
on
board
as
I
am
being
honest
and
do
know
what
I
am
talking
about.
It
is
a
lovely
venue
and
the
staff
are
friendly
and
polite,
hence
the
three
stars.
Will
try
again
in
a
month
or
so,
so
fingers
crossed
🤞🏻
