Great park for everyone, either for walking or playing. Kids can enjoy slides and other stuff. Some playing courts are also available. People can walk with their dogs as well. Feel the calm when you rest in the park.

Very good park for spending a relaxing time with kids. The kids play area is quite decent with a lot of equipment available. There are tennis courts and basketball courts for the public to use. Huge walking space good for dog walking as well. Highly recommended.

Been coming here for years with the kids. Brilliant park that spans a good few sections. For smaller kids you've got the bit we call 'Parrot Park' that's fenced off and has the parakeets and then the rest of the park is ideal for when they're older because they can just run off and try out the bigger climbing frames etc. Highly recommend as an easy one for the Saturday morning early risers with the kids πŸ‘

A great place to walk a dog. I've been going to john Leigh park since for ever. The path all round is a great little walk. It has two park areas for the kids. One for bigger kids then further round one for the younger kids which has a fence all around it. It has a small aviary. There are always loads of people there when it's a sunny day and the ice cream man parks up in it on warm days too. It has tennis courts/ football/ and basketball courts. It is a very popular place with dog walkers so not a place to go if petrified of dogs.

Great park, which got two separate playing grounds so kids between 2 and 10 will have something to do here. There is also part with live animals and lot of place to walk and sit if needed. There is also toilet and tennis courts.

I really enjoyed this park and had a great morning with the grandchildren there. They loved the play area and viewed the aviary. Unfortunately, we missed the ice cream van, but there was a coffee van present, which was very popular. Fantastic, well laid out park, that will quickly become a favourite.

Sometimes the owner of the park can be a bit viscous but otherwise, it is a good park with a nice ice cream van

The park looks really good with all the fallen leaves. The play area itself isn't placed in the best area, not too far from the road with no fencing, but it is fun for the little ones. There is a bit of area to walk around and the birds are a cool attraction.

This was such a find. Never previously visited this park I was pleased to have done so. The park and gardens are really well maintained and the grounds are litter free. A lovely place for a walk, especially in the sunshine

Very big and good sized park, two children's playgrounds one specifically for small children. Some tennis and multisports courts, nice track to jog or walk around, bowls club... Nice way to spend a few hours

Lovely little park to walk around or sit and chill out. Good play areas for kids and dogs are also allowed in the park (not kids play area) we found it lovely, but too many off lead dogs and not the best if you have reactive dogs.

Great park for young children and toddlers. Great for a picnic. Only problem was toilets were shut so we had a short visit, that's why it lost a star.

We love this park, it has a small playground for under 5s and a large playground for 5+ a nice circuit to walk, free tennis, basketball and hockey courts. The menagerie we always think a bit strange but hey horses/birds for courses/perches I guess.

During the lockdown we explored all the parks within out 10 to 15 mins drive range. This is a great park. Lovely fields and play area. Small birds cage is an attraction for kids too. In snowy days kids went sledding on the Dip. Only downside is there is not much parking available. All the nearby streets are permit only.

Lots of benches to sit and bins around the park. Great for dog walking, picnicking, park area, and exercise as there are stations around the park; wooden monkey bars, pull up bars in three different heights etc. And a nice jog/walk path round the perimeter of the park.

Convenient location, good size of field. Nice park for walking dogs and kids. If can put more playground facilities, then would be a five star.

Lovely green space in an urban setting. Interesting with quiet paths, play areas, hills to run up and even a bomb crater. BeaBeautiful quiet garden area and tennis courts. Great place for all

  • 4/5 Mister E. 11 months ago on Google
The play area for kids is good, there is a nice big slide, swings etc but recently dug up the see-saw and something else. Hopefully there will be something new to replace the 2 things that were dug up. I like this park but the only thing that is annoying is that there is 1 public toilet and it’s always locked, even when it says it should be open on the timetable. This is not very convenient for toddlers and others who may need a toilet more often.

Alyaan Ice cream van on John Leigh Park is the best ice cream we’ve ever tasted! The cones are really fresh and the ice cream is delicious. Although the park is amazing for younger and older children, Alyaan ice cream really does make the visit to John Leigh park worth while.

Great place for families with kids. There are two playgrounds, one for older and one for younger kids, tennis courts, a basketball court, bowling green, and beautiful grounds. I love the little aviary where you can see different birds. Great place to walk the dogs as well :)

Lovely park with plenty to do for kids of all ages. Two kids playgrounds. One for toddlers and the other for school age children. Vast open space for picnics and a game of football. No on site cafe that I know about but there is usually an ice cream van on sunny days.

Lovely park that has two playgrounds, one for younger children. It also has an aviary with various tropical birds in the outdoors. On the whole a nice park bequeathed to the people that used to be private grounds. Hence the name.

Enjoyable walk around as lovely little park. It was nice to see the aviary, which larger parks don't have so surprising to see in a small park. Well done to the Friend's group who look after it.
