Not been here for about 15 years! But well worth the wait on a lovely hot sunny lunchtime. Sat outside and had the Rag Pudding for lunch, but there was lots on the menu I fancied having. I'll definitely not wait another 15 years before coming back!

Impromtu dinner today, we booked our Thursday late afternoon table online with ease to guarantee a spot. 2 starters 2 mains both were really very good! The lightest of battered Halloumi fries and beautifully seasoned Firecracker Scampi. As we all know as well always a great sign when you get a nice fresh side salad.. Mains were a huge Chicken Carbonara and a Devil burger. Staff were really good checking in to make sure everything was OK and really friendly. Really glad we chose here this afternoon and all because it beat another local by 0.1 on their reviews.. See it really does work! Hopefully this guides a few more your way as it was really well received.

Popped in on the 1st October for dinner with the parents. I had for dinner: 2x Stowford Press 1x Salt and Pepper Squid 1½ Pork Sunday Roast 1x Cheesecake of the Day I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and atmosphere was great. Look foward to returning in the near future.

We've been to this place numerous times since moving to the area and it's been pretty faultless, however yesterday was definitely our final visit. Packet mash was big disappointment for everyone in our party and I know a few places that deliver far better than yesterday's poor service. Sunday roasts were nothing like they used to be, no follow ups to check if everyone was happy with their food and having to visit the bar to order more drinks? No thank you!

This is a beautiful pub located in an amazing setting. We really enjoyed our visit here, the staff are excellent (a big thank you to our waiter Adam) and the food is amazing. A huge shout out to the chef who produced one of the best steaks I've ever had. We will definitely be visiting again.

First time coming here and wasn't disappointed! Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely food and not to mention extremely clean! The bathroom was probably the cleanest I've ever seen in a pub too! Definitely recommend if you're in the area

Visited today. I'll start with the positives - lovely food, nice beer garden, outdoor hut serving drinks, mostly friendly staff. Negatives - so we order 4 x starters and 4 x mains. Had a bit of a wait, but it's a boiling hot day so totally patient about it. Hear a waitress shouting table 34, confused when I look up as I can see mains, a little confused so didn't respond straight away. When i did respond I hear a loud "For Gods Sake" or words to that effect.......charming! She plonked the plates down with a more friendlier waitress and I question why they are bringing all the starters and the mains out together. Get told bluntly in a round about way that that's how it is! I think its ridiculous. Who would want starters and mains together, isn't the clue in the word starter? Also if this was the case we should have been warned of this when ordering. Spoilt what could have been a lovely visit. No need to be rude either.

Food here is amazing! Been here a few times and has easily become the go to place to have a nice meal with my partner. The staff are lovely and provide exceptional service. The food is always perfect and not once had an issue. Plus the decor is great, not outdated at all, if anything their is a nice rustic yet modern feel to it. Perfect for date nights or a family meal. Will definitely be back.

Pop in quite alot during the week for a drink or 2. Decided to eat here b4 going on Holiday as been a year or so since had a meal at the venue. Food as always didn't dissapoint great menu choice lots 2 choose from and very well priced. Meal for 2 with starters and drinks around £55. Place does get very busy so I'd recommend booking. Service can be a little slow due to how busy they cn get and in warm weather can get extremely hot inside which is only down side. Definitely needs some sort of Air con inside to male it more comfortable. Car park is large however can get full quickly. Outside area is lovely and food also served outside. All in all a great place with a few small improvements would be absolutely excellent.

What a lovely place to come and relax and enjoy some quality home cooked food , we came for a family meal out with my elderly mother and was not disappointed in the slightest the food was excellent very fresh and very filling. The staff were very attentive and looked after us and enjoyed a warm friendly chat. We will definitely be returning here. A big thank you to all the staff and the chef, brilliant.

Everything was amazing. The food was lovely. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I have to say that Adam was lovely. He is a credit to the pub. For such a young lad to chat to us all (and we're different ages) was refreshing. It was great chatting to him. It was such a special evening. If we lived locally (we live in Plymouth) we would certainly frequent the pub more often.

Great pub, love the decor and relaxed atmosphere.Food was absolutley stunning, really impressed. The majority of the staff were really good, there was a couple that need some more training, but on the whole it was lovely.

I was recommended this place by 2/3 lads at work. Good selection of food on offer, and also reasonably priced. Today the beer garden was heaving but despite that the restaurant wasn't particularly busy so the wait for food wasn't that long, about 20 mins. When the food arrived it was piping hot as expected. The only down side for us was the distance to go for some pub grub. Rating 7/10

We had 4 meals and 2 starters every place was empty by the end! Everybody enjoyed their food and a good size portion too. It was very busy so little wait for mains after starters which was expected, would recommend highly

Been today, party of 10. Adam our server was fantastic!!! A really lovely, very polite and friendly young chap, and nothing was too much trouble. Everything looked scrumptious, and a varied selection was ordered. The food was excellent; all freshly cooked, flavoursome and hearty portions. There was even 4 steak dinners ordered, each cooked different and arrived cooked to perfection for each preference. Has a really nice atmosphere and very clean. Only downside is there is (obviously) an old picture showing a pool table inside, but sadly there is no longer one available, so my teenage grandchildren were not too impressed about this, although they did enjoy their meal. Would definitely recommend and will be returning!

Food was nice but to be told to hurry up and order at 7.15pm as the kitchen closes at 8pm was not a good start. Main meal arrived soon after, asked for a coffee, turned the machines off at 8pm not once were we asked would we like a coffee before we turn them off. Told we could stay as they are doing a line clean but no drinks. Shocking experience. I would of thought a Monday night a business would be grateful for additional money, obviously not.

Originally heard about this place from work colleagues and after disappointing service from my usual go-to food place I decided to give it a try with family. Absolutely blown away for our first experience, it was busier than we expected for during the week (but not surprised after the amazing experience we had) - food was tasty and well worth the price, when the bill came it was lower than we had expected which further blew us away. Will certainly be returning here again and this will become our usual go-to location when we want food. The menu was a reasonable size, seen larger menus elsewhere but what they do offer (and from what we've tasted) is absolutely superb, tasty ingredients and properly cooked and served and well worth it and the staff were really attentive and friendly. If you're looking for a food place to try I highly recommend this place.

Nice pub in the countryside with a great food menu and decent range of lagers and kegged beer, as well as a couple on cask. Had a lovely meal, but knocking off a star on this occasion as ordered Liver, onion and bacon, with chips, and they arrived without chips. As the place was pretty busy, took a while to get attention of staff and then I ended up with mash. Simple mix up because they were pretty busy, and I'll definitely be going back to give them 5 stars next time, as the food was lovely, it had a good atmosphere and staff were lovely if run off their feet a bit!

Lovely welcome by staff, including paying attention to our dog. Great service, wide choice of food on the menu. Portions are very generous, and highly recommend the home made steak pie.

Nicest fillet steak I've had in a while. Also had the sea bass previously and that was amazing too. Lovely people. Highly recommend

We had a family event here recently for 16 people. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was beautifully made and presented. Hand made curries, home style chips and steaks to die for. Desserts amazing, try the Eton mess, it's something else. Either homemade or locally produced jam is used, either way it was fantastic. Highly recommended.
