I arrived at the hospital around 7:45 and was in extreme pain. I was promptly told "we're closing soon". The receptionists were extremely aggressive and not at all sympathetic to my (dire) situation. I was taken into triage where the nurse refused to help on the basis of time constraints. I was effectively forced out onto the street in this life-threatening situation. This is the worst treatment I have ever experienced.

This was the first ever NHS hospital. Parking is free but very hard to get a place during busy times. Staff were very good in the high Friendship unit.

Fabulous hospital. I've worked in every hospital in Manchester and this is the best for standard surgery (retired critical care nurse). Delightful staff. The Reason i have given it one star is to get my point noticed by the management. Please will you fix the corridor windows so they close, it's feckin freezing on the corridors and it must cost a fortune in heating bills. Screw policies and procedures, get somebody's mate to fix them cheap for cash in hand.

My mum is currently on AMU . She has dementia and I can't praise the ward highly enough. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They treat her with dignity, respect and kindness. And are very welcoming and helpful to visitors. The ward is clean and cheerful

I love this hospital. They are so good in difficult situations; I’ve been twice with my three year old non-verbal child. Both times we were seen really quickly. Today my son had a bad gash after a fall and they could not have been more understanding and patient with him. Thank you for everything.

The staff were helpful, given all the exams and treatments that I needed for Emergency health issues. They gave me most care. Friendly Doctors, Nurses and staffs. Very organized and clean. You're all heroes. Thank you for saving people's life. Giving 4 stars as I had to queue under bit rainy weather outside the door before getting admitted, thankfully not that long ; also I hope there will be a 24 hours emergency service in the future. But overall I am happy with the help that I received. Thank you once again.

Was there 2 weeks ago and seen very close to my appointment time within about 10 minutes. On previous visits to the walk in the wait has generally been reasonable. Staff I have dealt with have been friendly and helpful. Best thing is free parking which I think other hospitals should take note of. All in all generally a decent hospital.

The best and cleanest hospital in the Manchester area. Nursing care could be improved but the surgery was excellent. I just want to say a massive thanks to all the staff the doctor explained everything and there's free parking

10yrs ago I did have major problems with certain staff & depts, but, recently have had the best treatment here. The Haematology dept has been incredible. Always seen on time, blood results in 20mins, wonderful staff. Same with Xray & CT depts, must also say, all the staff we've encountered have been so helpful.. Our fantastic local hospital should be 24hrs, we're SO lucky to have this hospital on our doorstep

They lie and say you have an appointment and leave you sat there for 4 hours and get shirty with you when you ask questions. They refuse to help and understand people's situations. Sloth speed work ethic. Probably the closest thing to hell on earth. If you look like you're of normal health and have a job don't go here. If you're fat, scruffy and on benefits get yourself here. Seen straight away.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE! ...... I would like to thank all the staff, from the people who keep the hospital clean to the doctors. Had a recent knee operation, the care and attention is amazing. I would like to say particular thanks to Joanne.R from the physiotherapy department. Her skill and encouragement are faultless. Also my Surgeon who seen me at very short notice when there was a minor problem post op. Being a tax payer since 16 yrs of age (now 48yrs old) I can see why its worth paying into. We are so lucky to have the NHS and the dedicated staff. #brilliant

My autistic daughter fell last weekend and we knew her ankle was broken so she needed treatment. Trafford were amazing and very good with her and kept her calm the whole time we were there. Trafford are a credit to the NHS.

Absolute disgrace. The NHS is under unprecedented strain as we all know but it’s absolutely not helped by clueless, rude and frankly aggressive reception staff and outdated information on the hospitals website. This place has gone downhill rapidly and I wouldn’t return even if my life depended on it.

Went today with my autistic son for bloods Very unprofessional and non caring people. We reached on time and we’re told they are running late without apologising they came to the door after many attempts to call them by ringing the bell. When requested for support staff to engage the child answer comes we never had it here….. kindly put some numbing cream…… done after begging many times from different staff… appeared they are in habit of ignoring and dealing without empathy. At last managed to go into the room after been told all staff on lunch break by a very rude assisting staff when rang the bell. I told about my son that he will need extra hand as being autistic, but nurse kept ignoring the fact and tried to deal alone…I have to intervene and explain last time he got needle pricked….then a helping hand arrives…. On the whole very bad experience I guess they need more training to identify less able patients and how to be polite…… .

The children’s resource centre is brilliant the doctor/s and staff are brilliant! There was plenty of toys in the waiting area to help pass the time. The doctor we saw was amazing with my son eased his fears and made sure we all understood everything.

Came to the emergency department at 10 still waiting for an X-ray results and it’s now nearing 3pm. No one has a clue what they are doing and when the results will be available. Waiting area is freezing cold. Unfriendly staff and kids with broken wrist and arms been also waiting for hours without even being prioritised. Awful service. If I could give a zero star I would.

Me and my friend went to the A&E today since they sprained their ankle. Everyone here is super sweet and caring, they were also super fast and we were done with all the diagnostics etc. after 3 hours. They were also super patient with us since we are not from the UK but from Germany. Thanks so much again to all the staff and doctors! :)

I attended Ward 12 today for an operation on my knee. Every single staff member that looked after me were amazing. The kindness and care given to me was fantastic. Mr Shah and his team looked after me and all had time and empațhy to explain and listen to any questions that I had. The aftercare instructions and support leaflets given to me were clear and easy to understand. The team have thought of everything for the patient and I would certainly recommend the ward and hospital to everyone. Thank you Ward 12, Trafford General Hospital, Manchester.

My friend had appendicitis and they kept saying theres nothing wrong with him and then they said try these antibiotics then he went to wythenshawe hospital and they spotted it straight away and by then his appendix had burst and they had to fix all the bad work they had done. Trafford are good for certain things like broken bones however i feel they need to more help and they are overcrowded and need more help.

Been here for all of my pregnancy ultrasound scans and many antenatal appointments now. Every single member of staff has been kind and couldn't do enough for me - it's just such a warm and supportive place. All of my treatment has been highly professional, calm and dignified. So proud to call this my national health service and I wouldn't change a thing.

I had a day case operation on ward 12 today. The care was outstanding from start to finnish. From the ward staff to theaters, csw's, nurse's, Dr's, surgeons and anastetics. I cannot speak highly enough of everyone involved in my care today.

Excellent hospital I have been several times now and each time the treatment by staff and doctors have been first class. So friendly. All hospitals should be like this.

I did accompany my wife and daughter on a couple of occasions to Trafford General Hospital (TGH) and I found TGH to be very well organised, properly maintained and efficient. All the staff - both medical & non-medical were very caring, competent and supportive. In short, it's a lovely hospital!

Just had an appointment here. Very disappointing. The only people wearing masks properly were the patients! Only my specialist had his mask on correctly. All other staff I saw had their nose sticking out or it was under their chin. Won't be rushing back if I can avoid it. If you're vulnerable, stay away.

Genuinely surprised how very efficient my brother in laws appointment went today, we were very early but were seen straightaway. It was a lovely experience and the staff were very very nice. Another surprise was no charge for parking !!!!! Well done, thank you.

I myself am not the patient of this hospital (thank goodness). My mum however is. Never has she been treated so poorly by staff. They never have time or want to listen to her needs and how she is feeling. They never have a good amount of staff for the numbers of patients on the ward. I have tried calling the ward and very rarely get a answer and requesting to see an actual doctor is a waste of time. The list is endless. I wouldn't call what is meant to be treatment anything of the sort from this place. Never would I recommend this hospital.

The Orthopedic department is absolutely fantastic, anyone who isn't impressed should request a transfer to Wythenshawe ! Trafford general is one of the cleanest hospitals in Trafford, (again) if folk don't agree go look at Wythensawe. Birthplace of the NHS, yet consecutive goverments have battered it with financial cutbacks, reduced it from a major hospital to a small local type hospital with no A&E, yet the services and staff are 1st class, ward 12 and physio in particular are professional supportive and helpful. As mentioned in previous reviews parking is FREE ! and if you think you may be longer than the allotted time (3 hours) speak to a member of staff who will either give you number of parking attendants or ring them for you with your reg plate to avoid fines etc. If your offered a choice of hispitals fir treatment then I would highly recommend TGH especially if its an Orthopedic related condition 👍

If you are looking for antenatal entrance, do not go to entrance 14 (as stated in the letter and text message), it does not exist. You should go to entrance 6 - visitors and staff. It is a short walk through the INSIDE of the hospital from there. Hopefully this should save you some time and confusion! Staff are lovely 😊

This is a very good hospital that's been open for years.the medical and non medical staff are excellent and really take care of you.its not the biggest hospital in greater Manchester but provides numerous services.had a decent sized carpark and plenty of buses go past the main entrance.

My mother is currently in a ward here, and she and I aren't overly impressed with the care she is receiving, the communication (or lack of), and still no resolution for one of the issues she went in with.
