Great well maintained old holts pub, for cheap drinks and staff were friendly too.

Wide array of drinks, great atmosphere on a Saturday especially for disco night. Great staff and just an all round good night out. Also has multiple screens for the football fans and any other sports you fancy! Lovely pub and very cozy!

Landlady is moody, rude and generally not very nice at all. The place is also scruffy and smelly. Loads of miles better places to go for a drink within walking distance. Avoid !!!

Good pub will definitely go again

Visited this afternoon but we're asked to leave as we had two babies with us. Both asleep in buggys. Apparently no children allowed in yet there was a young boy, probably aged 12 sat in the beer garden! No signs outside or at the doorway to suggest that children aren't allowed in. Won't be visiting again

I was passing the Nelson. Hadn't been there in over thirty years. I decided to call in for old times sake. It was late afternoon so the pub was pretty quiet hence the 3* for atmosphere. Really enjoyed my pint of mild. The place was clean and bright. Worth dropping in if you fancy a pint or Holts ale. Very nice.

Brilliant Holts tradition pub, great service and staff. Always a warm welcome and the Saturday night disco is absolutely legendary.

Julie & Ian are superb hosts and run a tight ship but do a brilliant job with their welcoming arms and exemplary interpersonal skills in abundance HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU HAVE NOT FREQUENTED PRIOR

Traditional pub. I'm not a huge fan of Holt's houses due to the limited choice of beers but this is a decent one. Plenty of screens for sports, prices are reasonable and the staff are very friendly and effecient. Worth a look if you like a no frills kind of place.
