Open plan bar with covered outdoor seating on Goose Green. Dunham Massey outlet. ( FIRST PINT OF THEIR BEER WAS DEER BEER...thankfully it improved from there.) Pint of Little Bollington, very pleasant. ..back Feb 2023. Had a refurb. Pint of Lymn Gold. Very good says Jorvic. Back to 5 star.

06/06/23: I've seen some changes in Altrincham since first moving here in 1996, then moving away again in 2007. Costello's was one of the changes in Goose Green, and tonight, having not been in for a while seen change again in the layout, size and direction it's gone.

Always love this place. Excellent friendly staff. Local Dunham Brewery beers and great prices with Goose Green to look out in. Great chillax venue on a Saturday afternoon

Great place, only ever visit in late afternoons but nice atmosphere, friendly staff and fellow customers.

Shame it's so dark inside and that although this is a CAMRA award winning bar, they don't offer discounts for CAMRA members. The beer is good, as you'd expect and it's a good place to while away a few hours.

Visited after a trip to the cinema, not been before. The outside tables were full, the inside was fairly quiet. Bar staff personable and friendly. Clean throughout. The lighting was subdued - fitting for the time of evening/night (10.50pm). Was able to chat easily. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Would definitely go again.

Excellent selection of beers and the people in there were very friendly such that I ended up chatting with two of them.

Well presented bar with the usual decent range of beers you would expect from the Costello chain BUT..... for a Wednesday evening it was v quiet with only few customers and the barman and his mate who spent the entire evening swearing openly in front of the few customers who were in there whilst discussing their varied recipes for (I assume by looking at them) those living the single life. Personally I'm not offended by the language but really is that customer service at it's finest? I will stick to the Stockton Heath branch in future.

This place is one of the best i know for real ales. Chilled out vibe with decent tunes on all the time (Low volume). All 7 handpumps are Dunham Massey Brewery ale which is top quality stuff. Really good Cask ale/ Real Ale. Also 4 other pumps with various lager beers. Real ciders in the back too so if you drink that then ask for it. My recomendation is the Dunham Dark. Its a multi award winning dark mild. Whatever your reservations are on dark mild, try it :)

I really like the changes they have made in the refurb. More beer choices too.

The barmaid Joanna could not have been any more friendly and cooperative to Costellos. A wonderful person with attention to detail and amazing customer service. A credit to your establishment

Good selection of beers. No music or TV (a plus for me). Reasonably priced. Stars lost because of the poor state of the gent's toilet and the whole place smelled of dirty mop.

Unassuming exterior gives way to comfortable bar with an excellent array of real ales from the Dunham Massey Brewery sold at good prices. Great atmosphere on a Friday afternoon, and a warm welcome from the staff.

It was nice to sit and relax and unwind, to watch the world pass through Goose Green despite the cold wind. I chose to sit outside as I've noticed since Covid I prefer to sit out than on. Costello's have a covered outside area so I was sheltered from the wind a drizzling rain. The wine was good too. A nice hour was spent chilling and I'm not talking about the weather.😄

Absolutely one of the best bars in Altrincham, always fantastic customer service and a great array of pints available. Fantastic seating options inside and out with a great smoking area sin Goose Green, tucked away from the other late-night bars on the other side. Definitely recommend Costello's for a pint whatever the occasion.
