With this new scan to order system you have to order through your phone, no contact with any staff member making the experience as good as a McDonald’s take away, in fact worse, as average price for a meal for 2 here it’s £40-£60. Tiny portions, sushi shrunk to literally pea size and waiting over 25!minutes for any food to materialise. No glass delivered with drinks. Dirty serving plates with serviettes and chopsticks. I honestly love sushi but that’s my last time here. Get a takeaway, you’ll get better service and definitely better value for money.

It's been a while since I visited a Yo! SUSHI 🍣🦐🦀🐟🥢... I have to say i enjoyed every bit of it today. It made a nice change after several days of meat and cheese over the Christmas period.. From the freshly prepared sashimi to their grilled teriyaki kebabs, there was simply too much to choose from. Loved the spicey tuna egg rolls 😋 had a firefly kick!!.. Can honneslty say was completely stuffed by the time I left!!.. over all had about 12 dishes ( diffent colour plates ) plus a couple of drinks, and the price wasn't too bad at the end. £60.59. Felt it was about right for the amount food we had eaten!! Plus, they also accept Blue light cards, so got a cheeky 20% off the overall bill.. score saved about £13 .. 👌 Deffenlty will be returning soon to get our sushi 🍣 fix again!!

I am very impressed with the changes made due to COVID. The staff are lovely and friendly, just as they were before. The new traffic light system is really effective. You order on your phone and it stops in front of you on the belt. Could not be more simple. The system is really straight forward to use. The menu is reduced but there are still lots of varied options and plenty of choice. Loads of choices for veggies/vegans. I've been twice now since they've reopened - booked online and had zero problems. Definitely recommend!

Severely reduced menu for the eat out to help out discount so if you think you are going to get a good deal on the usual food think again. No spicy seafood soup, in fact very few hot options. The new way of ordering through your phone takes absolute ages although the traffic light system is pretty cool. On the day we visited the place seemed short staffed although they were lovely and very attentive. Overall disappointed and will not visit until the old menu is reinstated.

Food was ok, however staff who was making food was also delivering it and from hygienic point of view that's not too good as they would wear the gloves when they were making food then would touch all the things around them (fridges, chairs etc.) while still wearing those gloves. And there was that disturbing smell of dump and dirty cloth where we were sitting. I'm not quite sure where this was coming from but it was bad.

I thought i saw a completed lateral flow test being passed between 2 kitchen staff on the food preparation side before being passed over the counter to the front of house person and the Manager, a discussion took place (i think they thought was in private but all they did was huddle against a wall) as to whether there was a double line or not, at that point I could not help myself ; I got up and butted in the conversation and asked if I had just seen what I thought I had? Yes, it was true a completed lateral flow had just been passed round 4 different people in the middle of Yo-sushi by staff and management..... I asked to see the result and told I couldn't see it, I asked if the result was negative, I was told it was negative. I then watched them all go about there business as if not a problem....... no washing of hands just greeting and meeting and clearing tables....... UNBELIEVABLE!!....... I do believe I heard the front of house person asking the person who did the test to go and do another test when he first took the test slide into his hand. We left at this point.... didn't even stay for dessert! Overall..... really poor experience..... and to top it off this was my son's 16th Birthday meal out...... of his choice....... on this occasion Yo-sushi.... thumbs down! 👎 MARCH 2022 Yo Sushi contacted me (Dec 2021) after this review and said they would investigate.... I sent all the details, receipts, table number, booking confirmation, and still today even after 2 further requests from myself they have still yet to advise their findings or even advise if they carried out an investigation...... Seriously Yo-Sushi...... really poor!

Quick service and good food! Visited on a Saturday lunchtime, and it was busy but not too full and we were seated immediately. Food was ordered online, and delivered to our table quickly via conveyor belt. Great experience and would return!

The spicy seafood ramen [picture] was relatively nice. The soup itself had a bit of a weird taste. But we enjoyed the fish and some noodles. The chicken fried rice was however bland and about a spoon of it only, in the middle of the bowl. The spicy pepper squid was not too bad, but had a very floury after taste. Over-all not too bad, but not awesome either. Can't give it a 5 star unfortunately. Good place for a quick bite. The staff was friendly and polite; front of house & kitchen.

The staff are perfectly fine. However, I'm extremely annoyed at the extreme price gouging currently occuring. Been going to Yo! Since they first opened in this country and never have I been so disgusted by the uncleanliness and removal of all the things that used to make the experience unique.

Really enjoyable experience. Me and my daughter went for the first time. You can order from the menu and then you pick what you want from the conveyor system. Everything is colour coded as to how much it costs. Be warned it can get expensive as the food goes round and you want to try it. Will definitely go again.

There’s always a long queue here so we’ve only ever got takeaway before which has been nice. It wasn’t that great - the quality is pretty average and the price really isn’t far off what you’d pay in Australasia in Manchester for a similar portion. Its a long time since I’ve been to a Yo but there’s a lot of stuff they used to offer that’s gone away - water taps at the counter, complimentary ginger and wasabi, it was all a bit underwhelming really.

Service was good and was seated straight away. Not sure if it was just me but the slices of rolled sushi do seem a bit on the thin side. Everything on the train was pretty much the same. Ended up ordering off the menu instead. Green tea was ok but a bit on the luke warm side rather than hot.

Not worth going at all. Had 3 main dishes and 3 from the conveyor belt. That cost 45 pounds with 11 percent discount! Food was below average. Didn't like how the staff just took 10 plates off the belt and just chucked them in the bin. I understand they don't want to risk selling bad food but I could've literally decided to take one just before he threw it away. No care at all and it was sad to see.

Always very busy, quick service, attentive staff. Order via the app. Not much booth seating but lots of seating alongside the sushi belt. Prepare to queue for the Yo! In Trafford center , for at least 10 minutes Can be a bit cramped sitting alongside the belt, so if possible ask to sit in a booth.

By far the worst sushi experience I have EVER had. 1) the simplest of all miso soups taste bland and watery 2) there 13.50 pound seafood ramen is made with egg noodles and not ramen. THIS IS A SIN!!! 3) sushi and sashimi portions purposely cut too thin and tiny, i have never seen such cheapskate cost saving methods 4) all seafood served here are not fresh, I wouldn't be surprised If I get food poisoning from this. EDIT: my wife did get food poisoning from this. 5) everything is overpriced for what you get. 6) sushi appears on the belt as broken most of the time. Never will I come here again. Save your money and go to wazasushi or shoryu, much nicer sushi and professionalism and respect towards Japanese cuisine. EDIT: reached out to yo sushi as per there response. Don't bother, they aren't helpful. Just the typical carried out investigation and nothing found. After many tests and nhs/private appointments, results show there was inflammation in several areas that arose from bacterial infection. The timelines matched up but difficult to prove as a result, and from yo sushi's response, you'll need something concrete for them to accept responsibility. All in all, you can decide what you want to do with your life but I wouldn't risk my health going there again.

My daughter is gluten intolerant but really wanted to try Yo! sushi. I wasn’t holding out much hope but she found things she could eat on the menu & we both really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely be back.

It was really good apart from not explaining What you had to do or no menu to look at you had to use the app. We were first timers to yo! But we really enjoyed it

First time trying yo sushi yesterday and the food was actually really nice until i witnessed something very disgusting the fact this place has an open kitchen and the complete disregard to food hygiene is absolutely shocking. One of the chefs had made a small burger for the customer on the table next to ours and when they received it and passed to their younger daughter she took the burger apart to find it had mayo on which she had asked not to have mayo so the parent got the chefs attention and handed it back after also handling the burger herself this was then put on the side right in front of our eye's and another chef requested a burger for another customer and was then told to take that same burger and give it to the other customer i was in total shock so i called the manager who especially in the current circumstances with covid didn't seem to interested in making any attempts to stop the burger reaching the other customer which was absolutely terrible after this we got up and left absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Staff are incredibly rude! We arrived at Yo sushi at 9:02pm after checking their closing time was at 10pm. We asked the lady if they were still serving food and if we could get a table. (The place was practically empty with a few people around the belt). The woman very rudely said and I quote “NAHHH i think we just closed”. I could not believe how unprofessional she was and instead of saying “no sorry……” said “NAHHH i think we just closed” I walked away and decided to speak to the manager and asked what time their last table was at and she told me 9PM. We had arrived at 9:02 and they would not serve us despite the place being quiet and they could make food for us very quickly. They have lost customers that day and it’s very clear that Yo Sushi is not a very good business with very rude staff as we have had similar experiences at other branches.

It is not clear why this Yo Sushi is so overpriced compared to the normal stores. The variety of food is miserable and the staff very rude. Be prepared to: “We only have what you can see on the fridge!” You can keep your “left overs” in the fridge for yourself!

I'd generally very busy. Better to make a reservation. Food is very tasty. Has a proper spicy taste. Good dining experience. Better to look at the pictures online and order on the app. Has NHS /blue light discount. Have to park outside selfridges to get here fastest.

Fun little sushi place inside Selfridges in the Trafford Centre. Great place to bring the kids on a Friday afternoon for tea, they loved the food arriving on the conveyor belt. Food is done really well and the wasabi was 🔥

I've been Yo sushi at different store, but this is the worst experience for me ... the restaurant is not busy , staff walk here and there but doing nothing , dont care and dont ask especially the fat female staff very rude attitude (not friendly at all ), is long queue waiting for the table ... the sushi is not as good for the price, the teriyaki chicken rice bowl, it actually just chicken and chilli nothing else , no veg at all , this will be the last time to visit this store ever and never again ...... not suppose pay for treat like this .... so go to others restaurant or food court instead of here , this is my advice 🤔

Lovely dishes, the food as alwsys from yo sushi is well made and extra tasty.Staff were lovely. However... The conveyor wasn't working ( it was my nieced 1st time, the conveyor delivery service is part of the experience )and the place is a bit drab. The seats need to be reupholstered.

Love this place and so do the kids. Great service and seated us really quickly considering there was a que. Only down side to this visit was that the belt didn't have much going round on it and it seemed to take a long time for them to top it up. We ordered hot food off the app instead and it came really quickly.

  • 4/5 Lev L. 10 months ago on Google
Pretty standard yo kinda place. Always good quality and the staff are really friendly. Only downside is the last 3 times over 5 months I've been they have not had some of the veggie/vegan stuff like the mock duck.

  • 1/5 Juan E. 10 months ago on Google
First of all, I understand that leaving bad reviews don't always help the business, however i have emailed them and have had no response from the manager. I have been coming over the years and needles to say we used to enjoy it. However the last few times has left me feeling very frustrated and disappointed. They don't take cash no more, use the app and they sneak in service charges without asking you, you don't get table service no more so why expect to put a service? Also portions are smaller than ever and prices are higher, you gotta have a balance. After spending over £95 for me and my 2 daughters, I was left hungry, thirsty and frustrated as they charged me for 3 bowls of food I never had! Emailed them and was told they will contact me to verify charges etc and never heard back from them. So sad to see a good old favourite been washed away by bad service and really poor value for money.

  • 4/5 Paul K. 1 year ago on Google
This place is great for nipping in for sushi. My wife and I love to pop in whenever we can. The service is always great from the wait staff but a few of the chefs seem a bit grumpy and the last time we went quite a few of the rolls were coming apart. Other than that however it's a fantastic little place to go. Don't care much for the rest of Selfridges though.

Well since we had an hour and a half to spare before my childs play session at play factore we thought we'd go to yo sushi the queue was massive it was boiling hot in there we contemplated leaving the queue several times but this was meant to be part of her birthday treat. We kept seeing several empty seats but they were not getting filled and the queue was not moving it was a form of torture really by the time we got to the front of the queue it was time for the 2 hour play session to start and i hoped we would finally get seated soon so we could make it to the play session before it finishes. But it was still another 15-20 mins before we were seated in chairs that look like theyve seen better days. Once there it was great. I mean it was slow service if you ordered food and drink and no one explained the system to me i had to ask if the '20' sticker on the dome on top of the dish means its 20 quid and they finally explained no the pricing is colour coded accorded to the dish and handed me a menu which i hadnt been given before. I have anxiety it makes me anxious to not know the prices of things until its time to pay and would have preferred to pay upfront but as this wasnt possible i had to use my calculator on my phone to monitor how much it all was and to tell my child to limit herself. Then they added a service charge to the end anyway. What service? They werent seating people in time or explaining the system definitely acted like i was bugging them by asking questions all the time- at the end i literally asked 3 different employees how im meant to pay and they walked right past me without acknowledging me like i never said anything and we ended up being late to the play session due to slow service but its not a low rating because the actual food was good and id recommend. I played it safe with prawn crackers miso soup and mochi and really enjoyed it. Really like the moving conveyors. If i had been seated quickly and explained the system and it wasnt so hot it probably would have been a 5 star review from me. Also wish they had drinks like ramune my child gets it from the yo section at tesco so i assumed theyd have them in the restaurant too but they dont?

Great sushi, quite a few vegan options and the katsu curry is way better than wagamama's. It doesn't cost too much for what you can get and the september promotion was way too good, I went three times. With the covid measures you order and pay online. Make sure to check the 'seasonings' section for the tap water, not sure why they put it there. Highly recommend.

Food is always good however even though its a limited menu half of the limited menu wasn't even available leaving very few options! None of this we were informed of. We had a table booked and arrived on time however while we were queuing waiting to be spoken to our table was given away! We had booked a table for 3 due to my disabilities as we were advised to last time and we still had to wait for one we had booked! Sadly will not be visiting again after this service

The wait for a table was about 15 mins then 10 mins for the staff to clear it. The selection available was almost non existent on the train. Being 5pm you would expect ramping up production to suit demand. The sushi that was available was nice but portions we're almost half of what I have received from visiting sushi restaurants around the world. When I asked the staff about the limited supply I was told it was due to the amount of people in the restaurant. If the chefs have time play games during my meal service then they have time to make meals. I will not be returning. £75 and we had to get McDonald's later.

Vegan review: Dedicated vegan menu with lots of choice. We tried kaiso seaweed, yasai rolls, pak choi and garlic, pumpkin katsu, mushroom teriyaki burger, vegetable fried rice - all delicious - washed down with unlimited miso soup. Excellent service. We went specifically to use a food choice voucher but when we went to pay, they wouldn’t accept the voucher. There was a sign at the till but we didn’t have a reason to go to the till until the end.

  • 5/5 Zoe L. 4 years ago on Google
Loads of vegan options at yo sushi and relatively cheap as you choose how many plates you would like, e.g some are only a few pounds. Food tastes really fresh and you can either take the food off the conveyer belt (so you get to see it before you choose it which I like, and super fast service). You can also order from the menu - has pictures of the food too. You press a button when you are ready to make an order. Seating is either round the conveyer belt or you can get a private booth (table sat across from each other) but you usually have to wait a bit longer for this during peak times (e.g the weekend).

Ordered two of the Korean fried chicken bowls- only asked for no chillies (we both can't handle spice very well) and one with no radishes. Both dishes came with chillies and radishes, were so hot we couldn't eat much and had to give it to our friend. We barely ate anything and had to get food later. The waiter had told us the changes would be possible and had spoken to the kitchen staff so we dont really know why the changes were then ignored?
