A little bit disappointed with service and size of meals for the price. Once ordered the food arrived but had to call waiter twice to complete the order. It also did not serve the coffee as coffee machine was broken down?! The place is well laid out, spacious but the carpets were unclean with food on it at different empty tables. I feel it has plenty things to improve on, but let's start from the beginning.

Some of the food wasn't too bad, but my nephew had to cut his mashed potato with a knife looked more like playdough than food. Was rather warm an stuffy, also the app wasn't working very well so my sister had to place our order at the bar. On the plus side I enjoyed my cake away.

Really nice pub/restaurant, very polite and helpful staff, excellent kids area. Carvery was well presented and well cooked. The part that is the deal breaker is the two small peices of meat I received that weren’t much thicker than 2mm thick, dread to think what I would of got if I ordered a small, I went large, joke really! The chef carved the meat and,I am in awe that he can carve that thin, no doubt management have gone overboard on the portion control to maximise profits. Never encountered this before with a carvery , Ended up loading plate up with the cheap items veg and potatoes. Well done management, I won’t be coming back! Have gone back through your reviews and mine is not an isolated case of penny pinching or should I say pound pinching. Have emailed yourselves and still no response !!!

Where to start. 70% of overall menu missing, not available or 66'd. Cutlery and glass ware not cleaned at all still food remnants on the provided knifes from someone else's meal and glass's still had lipstick and dirt on them. Charged over £30 more for drinks which I did not order. Extremely short wait for food causing alarm that nothing was cooked fresh steak was meant to be med rare came out well done chef refused to cook new steak despite the fact that the first was closer to charcoal than med rare. Manager convinced the chef to cook a second steak this time raw butchering a second piece of meat as the had pressed all the juice and flavour from the steak resulting in the sad state of affairs in front of me would recommend going else where better quality for the price else where.

The customer service we received from Denise was absolutely fantastic will definitely be coming here again to see her. She went above and beyond for us during our time here. Food was also outstanding and delicious

Now then, what have we here. We’ve got some delightful carvery options. We’ve got some top notch slow-roasted meats with a load of different veg and other treats to fill your belly with. I’ll be back here soon I’d imagine. As you’ll see on the photos below those roasted meats will make your mouth water whilst you wait in line to be served (don’t worry we didn’t have to wait long either).

It was lovely to be treated to a Sunday carvery here on the 8th August. Didn't book but phoned up on spec at around 2.30pm and was told to come along but we might have to wait a few minutes. We arrived 10 minutes later and were greeted warmly by staff, just a short wait while they sorted out our table. Clean and bright surroundings, table's were social distance apart. We ordered and the drinks arrived straight away, as it was busy, a little waiting in queue for the Carvery, I have never seen such a large glass of coke my friend had. Meal servings come in 3 sizes but they are all very generous. The meat was cooked tender and the veg was just right, not under or over cooked, the Yorkshire puddings were wonderful, really delicious meals, My friend had the large size meal, I had regular but I was so full that I had to take my dessert home, they have a lovely "Cake - Away" service, we really enjoyed it. Perfect Sunday lunch.

Called in Sunday lunchtime but just for a hot sandwich and a beer. Despite being very busy with Sunday lunches, service was efficient, friendly and engaging. Sandwiches were good quality, with freshly cooked chips and homemade coleslaw served in no time at all. Customers outside were attended to regularly, and tables cleared and cleaned. All in all a great experience, in this popular pub.

Love a good brunch! The service was insanely fast! We ordered, literally sat down, took one sip of my drink, and bang they were already coming out with the food, even before my mother got her carvery, and you can get your carvery instantly! Enjoyed it, would recommend it if your feeling a "Full English Brunch" atmosphere wasn't the best but it was quiet and nice, especially outside in the sun, was mid-day so it was expected to be quiet.

Excellent service and food. The pub seemed especially busy but the staff were all still friendly and happy to help. I was expecting a long wait but we were served in no time at all

Went in for the carvery, lovely service as always, the young lad on the carvery counter Ellis was lovely and friendly to chat to, and Courtney who checked on us at our table was friendly with a big smile and helpful. Definitely be returning.

An OK place for a decent carvery. We went on a Wednesday night at about 7:30. The bar staff were good. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 carveries. When we got to the carvery we waited a while for somebody to serve the meat and when the "chef" eventually arrived she was less than pleasant. No hello just bellowed at across the pass "ticket" then "yorkshire pudding" in a tone like I had spat on her kids on Christmas day. The food was OK a little dry but to be fair that is expected later in the evening on a none busy day. In summary if you like a cheap 'n' cheerful carvery but don't mind a miserable chef roll up roll up

Did not have to queue for long to place my order for the Carvery I only had a Small Portion but it was well enough for me the Food was delicious in a comfortable Restaurant. Green king know what they are doing when it comes to a good Carvery.

Had lunch today, ordered cheese pie for 2 of the party. Both arrived stone cold. Not even warm, absolutely cold cheese pie. When I asked why both were cold was told "they all go in at the same time. Will ask them to leave them in a bit longer!!" No real reason or apologies 🙄 Would not recommend and will not be going again.

We reserved a table for 14 people including children, was shown to our table and placed our food and drink order, drinks came no problem the food how ever was the issue. All the adult food come out but no kids meals after asking a few times and 40 minutes later the kids meals come out. The carvery ran out of pigs in blankets, even though we had paid for them. The girls on the carvery were slagging the kitchen staff off. Not the family night we had planned, Just want to thank Jen one of the waiters who honestly was under so much pressure from almost every one in the children’s section asking where there children’s food was (yes we wasn’t the only ones) she definitely deserves a pat on the back she took so much from dissatisfied customers and still had a smile on her face.this woman deserves being recognised by her managers for the good job she did tonight

Called in 7 September for lunch due to passing by. The gentleman serving behind the bar who we took to be a Manager was very professional, helpful and willing and said that we could choose our table. We opted to have 3 standard carverys. All the meats beef, ham and turkey were so tender. There was a large varied selection of vegetables plus roast and mashed potatoes. All were cooked properly and served hot. The chef serving was pleasant and meat portion sizes were good. We opted to have pints of soda and blackcurrant due to driving. The soda wasn't flat (as in a lot of pubs and hotels it generally can be) and a good quality blackcurrant was used. Perfect sodas and blackcurrants. The tall slim man with light brown hair who we presumed was the Manager (if he wasn't then he should be!) came over to our table and asked us if everything was alright. He was the right man for the job showing politeness and concern. Our lunch here was very enjoyable. Well worth a visit. Would recommend and return. Amazing value for money. Well Done and Thank You.

The BEST carvery, really pleasant atmosphere with welcoming staff. The food is top notch and the selection of veg and sides on the carvery is amazing. Even though it’s reasonably priced, visits here always feel like a treat for my family and I. I hope my mum doesn’t see this review as their roast dinner is better than hers! Look forward to a return trip very soon 😃

I ventured out to try a new spot for my Sunday dinner and was thoroughly impressed with my experience at Barley Farm in Eccles. The staff were exceptional, and Jude's energy was truly infectious. The cakes were so delightful that I couldn't resist taking some home. I'll definitely be returning, especially for those unbeatable Yorkshire puddings that perfectly complemented my meal

The service given by Gee and Laura was very friendly and attentative. I have visited other sites and not been impressed with the service but was impressed today when we visited for Sunday lunch. Laura chatted away to us and asked us we we needed any thing else. Gee greeted us at reception and took us to our table, asking if we understood the process then asked if we needed any further help. Great service. Well done.

Came in for food. Was served by lily she was absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. She interacted brilliantly with my children, she was super polite and both friendly and professional. Best service I've had while eating out in a long time. She's definitely a credit to the establishment. Would 100% return if lily was serving again

We went in for a carvery at 12.45, sat down, and within 5 minutes, a staff member started dismantling a table at the bar with a loud hammer power driver. I asked a staff member, "Should this not be done before the place opens"? She replied, "The staff member has just started work" (yeah, right). To which I said, "Well, should he not have taken the table outside to dismantle it, "No" she said, "it was screwed to the bar" (Haha, it wasn't; I watched him move it before he started). The waitress is obviously a compulsive liar, and he is a knucklehead for doing the diy at the bar when the restaurant is open.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening their at the disco. Was made even special by the excellent customer service from Gee, Laura, Antonia. It was my sons 9th birthday and they made it really special for him by bringing out a cake complete with candles and all sang happy birthday. Excellent and tireless work by all the team.

The Barley Farm truly exceeded our expectations. The highlight of our dining experience was undoubtedly the roast; it was nothing short of amazing. The tender, succulent meat, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, left us craving for more. The service was equally outstanding. Jade, our server, was a gem. She was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, helping us make excellent choices. Her friendly demeanor and efficient service added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, creating a cozy atmosphere for our evening. The attention to detail in the decor and the overall cleanliness of the place contributed to a pleasant dining environment. The menu at the Barley Farm offers a variety of options to cater to different tastes, but we highly recommend trying their roast. It's a must-try for anyone visiting this establishment. The flavors were a symphony in our mouths, and we left with satisfied appetites and smiles on our faces. In addition to the roast, we also sampled a few other dishes, and each one was expertly prepared, showcasing the culinary talent in the kitchen. The presentation of the food was as delightful as the taste itself. Overall, our visit to the Barley Farm was a memorable dining experience. The exceptional food, impeccable service, and Jade, who was one of the best servers we've ever had, made it a night to remember. We can't wait to return and indulge in more of their delicious offerings. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience, this place is a must-visit.

we came here as a family of 4 with a little one and the food is always brilliant. really easy to find a seat and then we were served by a lovely lady called Yvonne really nice and knew the answer to every question we had. 2 of us opted for the carvery and we were served by a young lad called Ellis. very polite and welcoming. The veg on the carvery was a big selection from mash to new potato from sprouts to parsnips and topped it off with alot of gravy 👌 will be calling again when I'm back in the area

Been a few times was served by a lovely lady called Judith very helpful. Very pleasant. The place was nice and clean all the staff was happy was going to get a greggs or McDonald’s but for £6.99 for a full breakfast you can’t fault it the only down side was £3.40 for a large lemonade but food was all spot on and all piping hot and plenty of it thanks

First time we visited the place so we didn't know what to expect. The staff greeted us sat us down at a table took our order and that was that. Food (carvery) was good. I always enjoy the food when the gravy is nice and tasty. This was nice and tasty. For what we spent just over £20 you can't argue. End result was two almost clean plates. Will we be going again? Definitely 👍 👍 👍.

Nothing more but a disappointment. We booked a room for 40 guests to celebrate our wedding who coudn't attend our actual wedding reception due to Covid 19 restrictions back in June. I booked the room about month ago and on Tuesday me and my sister in law came over to double check if everything is ok and to discuss decorations. It was a surprise for my wife. We spoke with a manager and agreed that the room will be free from about 3:30 pm as all the guests were invited for 4pm so she could come and quickly decorate the room and all the tables with flowers and balloons. We agreed as well to 20% NHS discount as both me and my wife we work in hospital and most of our guests do as well. Instead of a nice surprise for my wife we have had to sit in different room waiting for other a few families to finish their dinner in the room we booked due to the assistant manager's mistake. We didn't receive our NHS discount as apparently it was limited to £ 20 per order. In the end on about 510 £ we received 44 £ discount, that is not even 10%, not talking about compensation for ruining surprise for my wife. If that wouldn't be enough on the pub's website we can find information that it is dog friendly place. That is nothing but a false advertisement. My friends came together with their dog all the way from London just to find out that they can not join the party as dogs are not allowed inside. Thank you very much for ruining our very special day and surprise for my wife.

Hi have to say the customer service here is exceptional, I was served by Paul who was welcoming and very efficient. There was a lady called Stacey dressed up as an elf which helps to create a wonderful atmosphere. Another gentleman the we encountered was Jeff again fabulous service. Friendly staff fitted 10 of us in very last minute when the caterers for our training course let us down last minute. Sue was extremely helpful indeed. Great food which arrived promptly. Will now come back with my family ASAP! Thank you!

Got a carvery box from the "Too Good to Go " app. Great value for money at £3.50 each. Small piece of meat but still a great variety of vegetables and potatoes. Myself and my husband left with a LARGE BOX which was put into a paper bag to takeaway. (We were expecting it to be tiny) It satisfied our Sunday dinner cravings. Will most definitely return 😀

Very delicious food, since i discovered this place i had the best time there with my family and friends. A very nice lady with glasses always cheers us up with her optimism. ♥️ In this wonderful place, I feel at home in the countryside. ☺️ I recommend it with all my heart. Food will fill your stomach and heart at the same time. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to try the cakes because the dinner is so big that I do not have the strength for dessert. Anyone who has not been to this place must visit! 😍😍🤩

Went here for a family meal; our first visit. Easy to find and park. Everywhere was clean and tidy and as we walked to our table, the carvery looked delicious and all fresh. We ordered at the bar, as the app doesn't let you adjust a meal (take items off). The carvery was delicious, especially the cauliflower cheese which was extra cheesy yum 😋. They have a play area for children, which was good and all staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely return here, as we all enjoyed our delicious food.

Let's start with positives first. Varied English menu. Family orientated and the look and feel is unpretentious and uncomplicated for a busy pub carvery for what's to be expected. However, this particular carvery cannot manage parties of more than 10 (Wedding anniversary and it was booked for 7pm). When we got there the carvery was at its last legs with the meat 🍖🥩.Was told the carvery could only serve 2 from our party but on the sly it was stretched to another 2 customers elsewhere 🤬. Whilst 2 of our party ate their carvery first and finished eating, the rest of us waited over 1 hour 30 minutes for our food to be served . I sat and watched while other small parties of 2/3 who had arrived after us were served their food .( I felt abandoned and had to remind them we were still waiting) 🤬. Gammon steak was nice with a hint of bluebottle fly 🪰 on the side who wanted to share my dinner🤢. As a family we made the best out of a disappointing evening.

I think food would've been palatable (Carvery) were it nice and hot. I really didn't enjoy my meal at all. Didn't eat much of it in the end. Staff were very apologetic and we're always polite from the moment I walked in so ★★. I was there yesterday 20th May, 2022 in the evening. I opted for the Carvery Roast beef & all the trimmings. The vegetables were tired and unappealing though I still thought they'd taste nice. I was wrong! I ended up eating just the mash and roast beef and washed them down with a nice cup of tea. The member of staff that served me were ever so polite, I mean really so, quite refreshing! I feel bad giving a poor review because they were so good but I tell only my truth. More detail.↑↑

Been here a number of times now and always enjoy the food. Value for money. However today one of the girls decided to start cleanimg the tables next to us and the spray didn't go down well with my breakfast, School boy error. She was very polite though, so top marks.

I visited here on Sunday around 4pm.. Unfortunately the visit was awful.. We ordered 4 carvery and waited in line for just under half an hour whilst there was only 1 person preparing the meats. Customers around me were getting annoyed by the long wait also. The meat was cooked nicely however everything else was just poor.. My wife tried cutting some broccoli and it pinged of the plate due to the stem being still frozen.. My friend also had some uncooked veg.. The mash potato wasn’t great and the stuffing was that sticky you couldn’t get it of the actual spoon.. Planned on taking the meal Home but I just left it.. Bland and no flavour. At £10 a cavery I won’t be eating here again. Unsatisfied!

Was pleasantly surprised as we used to frequent it quite a lot before Covid closed everywhere down. We would go after flying at Barton for a drink and something to eat and had got out of the Habit so going on the spur of the moment paid dividends as we decided to go with the Carvery. More than enough food which was really good and we stayed much longer than we anticipated drink and just enjoying the company and the atmosphere: Thank You to all the staff involved. Would Recommend.

I was greeted by Beth, she was on front of house/ bar lovely very polite and welcoming. When I went over to get a carvery, I was met by Kyle and Ellis who apologised as they were in the back restocking the veg! The value for money is fantastic and the staff are so kind and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you!

I've had ups and downs in this place. On the positive side, I think their carvery and service are as good as anywhere in Greater Manchester. These kept me coming back repeatedly. However, the last time I was in, I went off-carvery and had a sirloin steak. Just awful. Stringy. The onion rings were spongy, too, and the tomato was rock hard and cold. My dining companion had a macaroni cheese, and it looked and tasted as dry as hell. Shame, but I'm going to look elsewhere now for my pub meals.

Overall experience good typical pub carvery and food, fare priced, plentiful and hot carvery good value, the only gripe I had when drinking my larger smelt very doggy like the glass washer hadn't been cleaned, but overall I would go back, went back 11-6-2023 had fully loaded chicken strips, very tasty and plentiful 👍the vegatarian carvery with cheese pie excellent, and chips 👍 chocolate fudge cake and ice cream👍had 1 pint san migel was not pongy this time excellent meal definitely a go back

This was fantastic from start to finish. Despite it being really busy we were welcomed with a smile. The food was very high quality and incredibly tasty. Vegetarians are well catered for. We called at a busy time yet the service was spot on. One of the ladies Jen, even brought some food over to our table! Both ladies (Jen & Ashley) were fantastic, a real credit to the pub. Thank you, we will be back.

Had a lovely time at Barley Farm. Came for my Grans birthday. Yvonne C went above and beyond for us. She was brilliant. Gave us food recommendations and even found a candle and sang happy birthday. We all opted for the carvery and the food was beautiful. So much to choose from and all hot and fresh. Would absolutely come again. It was clean, fairly priced and the desserts were massive and absolutely beautiful.
