100% the best tapas restaurant - or restaurant in general - in Altrincham, and probably by some way. Fantastic, attentive, and friendly staff always offering great advice on the amazing specials and providing a great atmosphere in the place. For a small bite, a quick drink after work, or a full-service meal, Porta is the place to go to enjoy the tastes of Iberia in a truly authentic setting.

I had not had tapas before and it was excellent. I probably over ordered. The beer barrel was being changed and there was a 10 minute delay. So they compensated by making the beer complimentary. I really enjoyed the variety of plates. Great service.

Have reviewed before and promised a return. Did so and was not disappointed. Great food, lovely staff, no complaints but.....There are compromises. Its small and can feel cramped owing to its popularity. Rather than your regular restaurant, think of it more as a bar with *very* tasty snacks and you'll 'get' it. Expect to wait! The food is incredibly good but as with everything lately its getting a little pricey... £75-ish for 2 people with beers.... just about justifiable. However we left stuffed to the gills with the best of food and very contented. Highly recommended, will return for our next 'special occasion'. PS - shout out to the kitchen staff - you produce fab food - we really appreciate your work!!!

Best tapas we've had. Lovely staff, absolutely beautiful food and really nice atmosphere. Especially appreciate the normal volume of background music so you can actually have a chat. Top notch, lovely place. Well done to all

One of our favourite places to eat in Altrincham. Food is delicious & varied (for vegetarians & meat eaters). We always order the olives & tender stem broccoli (in a paprika paste with almonds). The staff are excellent, everyone is so cheerful & helpful. Best of all the service speedy! Tasty dishes appear in literally minutes. Atmosphere is lovely too.

Porta has a wide selection of traditional Spanish tapas dishes with some specials occasionally fusioned along side. The drinks are traditional and modern, the atmosphere at most, early on is nice and relaxed, once busy it does seem to be very hectic but that’s surely the sign of a good place to eat drink and socialise. Our recommendation is to head out early after opening times, for a relaxed early lunch of tea and if your after starting or finishing the night off well it’s an amazing place to head too. No reservations though, so it’s just a show up and take a chance, although they do offer a call back service once a table for your requirements becomes free! Fully AC for inside dining, great outdoor covered space at the front also. Price was more than I wanted to spend, but I don’t honestly mind spending good money on good food and service, so for me 10/10. Lovely staff, lovely visually inside, great food, good atmosphere . Well done porta, and thank you 👍🏻

Truly amazing Tapas. Tied for my favorite in all of Manchester. Attentive, friendly staff; delicious dishes with some trult excellent variety and some very enticing specials. The venue and atmosphere only serves to further add to the experience. If you enjoy Tapas you must give this place a go

A new favourite! We visited the day before our wedding for a much needed pit-stop. Your olives are amazing!

Lovely tapas, reasonable prices, nice selection with some different dishes, only downside is the place is small and a little cramped and little room on small tables for a good selection of dishes

It's ok but not as good as the estilo mailbox Birmingham. The patatas bravas is mainly a crispy chips poured with chilly sauce.

Lovely little spot with great heart ❤️ staff were excellent - friendly and knowledgeable. Food was nic but... We've had nicer tapas in Manchester (in Sale and city centre), just more flavourful. But it was a nice evening.

Wonderful authentic Tapas - we had a very good lunch and could have whiled the entire afternoon away grazing on the tapas and enjoying their wines! The food is very fresh and very well cooked and presented and the atmosphere feels like you’re in bar in Spain! Very attentive service. We will be back!

Lovely place, very friendly staff and beautifully cooked food. I had Tortilla and Lamb Meatballs in tomato sauce, followed by a Portuguese Custard Tart. Absolutely exquisite and I'll be going again. Thank you.

Lovely little tapas place. In good weather it's nice to sit outside. Inside is not dog friendly so pray for good weather if you plan to come with your dog. The wines (especially the rioja) are great and all the dishes and service were excellent. I will be returning!

I visited today for the first time whilst visiting family in the area. The staff were lovely and welcoming and the food was amazing. Just enough to choose from but not too much that you can't decide. We shared 5 dishes between two of us and it was enough to fill us. Would highly recommend.

Food superb! Atmosphere both inside and outside superb! Staff cannot do enough for you and the service is spot on. Hard to find good tapas spots but this is definitely one of the best!

Very much enjoyed our Sunday afternoon trip to Porta. Fantastic tapas, each dish was awesome. We ordered Bread in oil, croquettes, prawns, potatas bravas, scallops and tenderstem broccoli. The lager on draft was cracking as well. Very relaxed atmosphere, prefect spot for people watching if you get a table outside. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Very reasonable price for the quality of food. Highly recommend!

A big thank you to Lovely team of Porta for the wonderful evening, amazing hospitality, great tasty unique tappas dishes and drinks and making us feeling so special. All the best to you all. We recommend this place confidently.

Really good tapas. We like to sit outside late afternoon/early evening. Cold Estrella, great tapas and wonderful people watching. The Presa, whilst expensive, is superb. The Calamari is authentic, several small full squid, nicely cut into Hula Hoop sized pieces, best we've had locally for a long time. A lot of people seem to arrive, order a few plates and eat as a meal. Would thoroughly recommend ordering one to three plates to share with each or alternate rounds and stretching out the experience. Highly recommended.

Always a good meal here, especially if you like your tapas. Sea bream with chick peas was an excellent special, the iberican pork, choritzo & lentils and blue cheese with honey/walnuts are also menu favourites. A regular venue for us. Well worth a visit. A+++

I was BUMMED by a member of staff in the toilets who shan’t be named! I am a MAN and I was BUMMED by another MALE employee in the staff toilets. Tapas were nice, shame about the bumming.

Quite rude service I went on Sunday with some friends to have a vermouth before lunch. We ordered vermouth and olives, we asked whether they had some crisps too, as it is typical in Spain. The waiter replied quite rude that we were not in Spain. Just a simple reply as " we don't have" would have been enough. The olives and the vermouth were good.

Came here for food on a grey and miserable day...the food and service certainly brightened up our day! Wonderful seared pork dish as well as beautiful king prawns....olives were amazing! So big...so juicy! Thank you Porta!

It's a nicely decorated place, good for a light bite and drinks but not great for a main meal. The tapas portions are very small and a hit pricey. For example £7.75 for 4 King prawns is a bit miserly.

If this excellent tapas bar had a better range of better-priced house wines they would get five stars as the food is lovely and the service is very good. Carafe of red at about £12 (500ml) isn't bad but I think the next offering is towards £30.

Really nice simple menu and food. Staff friendly, and lively atmosphere. Good menu, but for me could do with 1 or 2 more hot meat items. The patatas bravas was my favourite dish.
