Worst Customer Service Ever! I don't have any complaints about food but the staff working there are unable to manage the customers. I was seated next to the toilets and requested for swapping my table. I patiently waited for around 20 minutes and as soon as the table was cleared, they allowed the next customer to take the place instead of telling them that one of the customers is already waiting for that table. The staff did not understand my concern and behaved rudely. The boy was speaking with fingers being pointed at us and questioning us about what would we have done if we were in his shoes. Not fare. It was my birthday and wished to eat good south Indian food but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was already late night and I went back home starving. Not recommending Chennai dosa any more! I wish I had a chat with the manager about the disrespectful staff working over there.

Would’ve given ZERO stars if possible. Absolutely horrible service. Seated us for buffet with no food in the buffet. Buffet time is from 1pm to 3pm. We got seated at 1.50 and were told they’re not going to top up the food. The servers were absolutely not polite and not pleasant at all. Don’t run a buffet if you can’t manage the busy crowd. If on Google you mention lunch buffet from 1pm to 3 pm then have food at the buffet atleast till 2.30 or have the courtesy to inform your customers BEFORE seating that you don’t have food at the buffet. Even worse - we ordered from the menu and didn’t get the food till the time we left at 2.35pm. Extremely rude and disrespectful servers and owner/manager. Edited to add: the manager/owner (a mallu guy with glasses) did not even care about the customers. Was only Arguing about how busy they are and did not even care or apologize for the inconvenience caused.

We thought the starters were great but the mains were OK, mine wasn't what I asked for (Med/hot) came mild which was OK but could have been better, naan great, rice and roti good all in all would probably still go again but would try others around first to see if they were any better as this missed the wow factor for the price you were paying

Ghee roast here is just out of the world. Would definitely go back here just for the ghee roast. The other dish I had was chicken masala dosa and it was decent.

Been going here several times. Drive 1h each way to get here. Worth the drive for me. Breakfast buffet is £12.50 now includes unlimited idly, vada, bhajji, payasam, plain uthappam, onion uthappam, plain dosa, masala dosa, poori bhaji, pongal, veg upma, excellent sambhar, excellent coconut chutney, mint chutney, garlic chutney. Not a posh place but it's clean with polite and attentive staff. Clean toilet. Free parking is on street on nearby streets but not next to it. Petrol station is right opp. South Indian coffee is extra. 1030 to 1230 Saturday Sunday breakfast buffet is excellent. Have tried the lunch Thanks which was fine.

The food was quite good. The taste was very authentic for some of the dishes. The social distancing measures are also in place. If you want a proper south Indian meal, this is the place to go!!! The quality has improved quite significantly in the last few years and a must visit if you want an authentic south Indian food!

Amazing breakfast, lots of choice and a buffet option. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Obviously very popular as it was busy for breakfast on Sunday.

Wahh, what an incredible experience at Chennai dosa. I went there along with my friends to have a special breakfast buffet on Sunday which is also very cheap. The songs that they where playing in the background remained me the memories of India. Special thanks to the Chennai dosa manager Soundharya Avanuri (sound) to take care of us. ❤️

Service is horrible, space is dirty and clumsy, food is good if and when it comes after a really long time. Staff argue with you in an extremely rude way when you inquire regarding the poor service. Front desk blames the kitchen as if kitchen belongs to a different restaurant.

I had a bad experience yesterday. It has taken 50 minutes for my food to be delivered that to after asking many times to the waiter. The price has increased for all products but at the same time the quality and quantity has reduced. Anyhow I came from Ashton under lyne only to have good Kerala food and I am totally dissatisfied with this service. So I will never visit this shop again as well as never recommend it to anyone. Thank you

Coming to starters, We ordered chilli chicken and Gobi Manchurian which I didn't like that much as they were too sweet. Next we ordered Idli and Idiyappam which were satisfying. At last we ordered chicken fried rice which was okayish and then ordered mutton biryani which was awesome.

The place is quite good with nice, helpful and quick staff and ambience. We ordered the Ghee Doa, Masala Chicken Dosa and tea. The Dosa was good but a bit expensive for what it was. The tea they brought us was very weak but when we asked them to make it stronger they complied. Definitely worth the visit if you are craving/want to try South Indian Cuisine.

Great tasting South Indian restaurant with nostalgic seating and cutlery. Transported back to a genuine South Indian place. Good portion size, friendly service, authentic taste!

We dined today at Chennai Dosa, we had a bad experience with the food and with the Manager Mr. Anish who was not really approachable. We are forced to pay the unsatisfied and really disappointing meal today . We are a frequent dinner but today was the worst. Definitely don’t recommend this place due to POOR HOSPITALITY.

My Indian regions culture is poor so I could not tell you where the cuisine is from... now, this was PROPER, good and traditional + the service was good and friendly. Not pretentious, just very good in a simple way. I would recommend!

Food is delicious; but very disappointing about their continuing cancellation of delivery food. They never get a deliver man recently and seems to be they don’t care about to resolve that problem. If I ring them, the girl who is responding phone is not so interested for the explanation of why they don’t got the facility to deliver their food. Feels like the girl who is responding the phone is not so professional because she doesn’t know how to deal with a disappointed customer. So, at the moment, my thumbs down 👎 for them .

If you wanna be in a South Indian ambiance, i would suggest this, however the food is below average. Even batchelors can do better. They should be focused on having a great chef . People like me won't come again if they're gonna prepare the same recipe It's really funny that I've spend my 45 pounds over there.

The decor and looks of the interior combined with the rush and inadequacy of the waiters really ruins the mood and vibe of the place. The quality of food was ruined by how hectic it is.It was understandable quite busy but clear the waiters have no idea how to do their jobs what so ever. Seating 1 person at a table for 4 and then seating 3 people at a table of 2. This could be seen the throughout. Moving on to the food. Can only be described at subpar at best. We initially had chilli chicken starters which were quite good. But then had to wait another 10 minutes for the other starters so half the table stayed hungry. The dosas were adequate but for the size of the dosa very minimal filling was provided, which can be seen below. My brother ordered the mutton kotthu parrota which did not arrive until the rest of the table were nearly done with their food. The kotthu parrota was inedible. There were multiple egg shells and the parrota was so thin and soggy. More than 70% was left in the pot when we left. I would also like to state we had ask for water 3-4 times before ever getting it.The only plus was the tea and coffee .

Today I had the unfortunate experience of dining at your Restaurant, and I must say that I was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the Chef special Dish Kall appam . First and foremost, the food was simply not good. It lacked flavor and was far from the tasty experience I was hoping for. To make matters worse, when I approached the staff to express my dissatisfaction, they seemed completely indifferent. They didn't show any empathy or take my concerns seriously. It's disappointing when a restaurant fails to acknowledge and address customer feedback in a professional manner. Overall, my experience was highly disappointing.

Very disappointed with the quality and taste of food. Been here for lunch buffet. It had Mutton kola, chicken biriyani, white rice, beet root poriyal, potato fry, rasam, pappad, egg gravy and pickle. Nothing called non-veg curries as mentioned in the menu provided. Cost is 12.5£ pp. Chicken biriyani- definitely not Chennai style had carrots and tastes bland. The rice is not washed properly can smell it’s rawness also chicken is not fresh. Mutton kola balls- was cold inside probably frozen stuff. Rasam - jaggery and tamarind dominated. Potato fry and egg gravy was again sweet egg was half cooked, payasam a blunder and literally nothing tasted good other than beetroot fry. No sambar or non veg gravies provided. Most of the items were sweet and not fresh, only for quantity not quality.Don’t spoil the name of Chennai, I’m from Chennai but this is no where near to Chennai cuisine🤦🏻‍♂️. Change the name of your restaurant if possible. Be honest in keeping the name for restaurant atleast.. Definitely won’t visit again nor suggest anyone.

I'm being honest to the core. As a south Indian, I'm rather disappointed with this restaurant. I don't know if it happened to be a bad day I dined here. Breakfast was okay but apart from Chutney, everything else was below average. And I'd say it's the worst Masala Tea I ever had in my life and cost us £2.99!!! Absolute waste of money. Would never go back.

I wish to thank everyone involved in the preparation and presentation of our meal on Friday evening. It was exceptional in every way and added so much to our enjoyment towards the food. ( Specially Masala Tea ) Please pass on my special thanks to all concerned. We will certainly be coming again and we will have no hesitation in recommending you to all our friends

Went to dine here with family after a friend recommended this place for south Indian food. Our experience wasn't great starting from cleanliness. The chair had food droppings on it which was changed after we pointed it out and was replaced by another chair which was dirty too. No cutleries/napkins on the table which was given after we asked for it and had to ask again as they gave it only for 3 people instead of 4 of us. The steel plates could have been cleaner. Food was alright in terms of taste. A bit of better staff attitude and cleanliness would make this a better place to visit again. Sorry to be a bit too honest.

Super expensive but good food. Service was good. Some reviews show the menu with old prices. They are much too expensive now. But surprisingly the place was full. I guess they must be doing something right. Not a place I would visit often.

Went to try the infamous chole bhature ( ironical to try at a South Indian restaurant ). Restaurant vibe was good but the food was not the greatest of my liking. Chole were a bit sweeter for a North Indian dish . Apart from this tried sambhar vada which was amazing ( hence an extra star)
