Wow! What a wonderful little place. My partner and I came for a drink, and stayed for the crayfish salad, which was absolutely delicious - and laden with succulent crayfish. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was incredible. The ambiance made you feel as if you'd just walked into a fantasy novel. A cobbled courtyard, the soft splash of a water feature, an abundance of colourful flowers nodding in the breeze. What more could you want? I can't wait to visit again!

A pleasant place to have lunch but be aware it's better to book. We only just got a table and were told we could have it for only one hour. I enjoyed my apple spiced tea. My friends enjoyed their americanos with hot milk We had egg florentine ,Welsh rarebit with bacon and carrot and coriander soup. We were happy with our meals.

Great setting, outside courtyard is a lovely haven off the main shopping street, inside is penny farthing museum , very interesting. The cakes are delicious.

While out cycling with a friend, we ended up going through Knutsford, and it was time for our obligatory cafe stop. My friend had never been to the Penny Fathing Museum at the Courtyard Coffe House. We were very disappointed upon arrival to find they have removed all the Penny Farthings. While we were there, we thought we might as well stop for cakes and drinks. The staff were very friendly and we were shown to a table inside as they didn't have any tables outside. I ordered a slice of Pecan Pie, which was very nice. However, at £4.95 a little on the expensive side. I think the coffee I ordered came to £3.20 and although it was a good coffee, the size of the cup for £3.20 was way too small. I questioned a staff member about the size of the cup as to me it was a small cup. The response was that they only had one size. She did ask if I wanted another one. At £3.20, I respectfully declined. My friend ordered a scone with a cup of tea. The scone came with currents in. Unfortunately, he doesn't eat currents, and they didn't have any plain ones. There was no problem swoping the scone for a cake. So the bill came to £16.95. I don't know if this is a normal price for Knutsford Town Centre. It's certainly not the normal prices we pay when we visit the many cafes on our cycling days out. There were a few people having lunch, and to be honest, the food I saw looked very good. Before we left, I asked a member of staff if the Coffee House had changed ownership as the Penny Fathings had been removed. The response was that it hadn't just that the Penny Fathings had been gathering a lot of dust and bringing paint off the walls. The place does look a lot bright inside now. However, for me, it has lost that uniqueness it had, and as a result, I will not be visiting again or recommending the Courtyard Coffee House to my cycling friends anymore. If you do decide to visit, make sure you have a card with you as they do not accept cash payments.

I just had to post and leave a review about how unbelievably kind the staff were today, in particular Althea. It was my aunty's birthday and unfortunately her husband has been admitted to hospice, so today was a difficult day for her. Myself and family members were intending to go to the hospice today and try to give her a nice afternoon. I was in Knutsford when I realised I had not bought a cake and I ran into courtyard cafe to see if I could purchase one from them. They sold me one at a discounted price and Althea was so kind and even asked if I had candles. It is moments like today where you are shown how lovely people can be. Thank you so much for your kindness today. The cake really did help make the day as special as it could be.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here yesterday. The service was excellent. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We saw the lunchtime menu 'Minted Welsh lamb casserole with winter vegetables' and decided to return a few hours later to sample it, I'm so glad we did, it was delicious, it melted in your mouth. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Knutsford.

Wow! What a lovely little place. We stumbled across this almost by accident. It's down a little passage from the main street which opens up to a lovely courtyard. All the staff were amazing! Welcoming and really kind with quick service. We just had a quick coffee and cake and scone and they were delicious. Definitely worth a visit. We will visit again for lunch next time.

Awesome building and interior design. Very interesting historical facts all over the place. Definitely up my street! The food was really nice. Cakes were big in portion sizes and very yummy!! Four stars though because one of the people in our group had their order forgotten about and a side order that I put in a while after our main order was also forgotten about. Dogs not allowed in the main building but they have a marquee outside that is dog friendly and sheltered from the rain :) dog water bowls available!

So disappointed with our visit to the Courtyard. We booked ahead, had decided to come here for a bite of lunch before going for a walk at Tatton. This was my Mother's Day today so specifically picked somewhere I had never been, somewhere that had good reviews, had lovely looking cake and did Eggs Benedict! We arrived at 1 when table was booked for, told there was no hollandaise sauce left (amongst other things) so no Eggs Benedict! Took about 30 minutes for our order to be taken and another 45 minutes for two omelettes and a chicken salad sandwich. Best thing was, the sandwich didn't even arrive with the omelettes, I had to wait longer for that! In the time we were sat there we saw 4 tables leave because of how long it was taking. It took so long I didn't have any cake either. I was so disappointed, I won't be rushing back or recommending to anyone either.

Some great vegan meals being introduced by Patch and Rob. Falafel burger, Thai vegetable curry, focaccia mozaralla.

The setting is lovely and was what attracted me to go here. The food quality doesn't justify the price. I had a roast beef sandwich, with a side salad. I ordered a side of fries. The fries were the let down. The side salad was nice. Sadly we were bombed with wasps. I've nothing against the place but I wouldn't rush back.

Good food and service. A little pricey and the 'award winning sausages' were very average in my opinion... but the very tasty sticky toffee pudding made up for it.

Lovely town centre location but very quiet inside marquee and inside. Nicely decorated with old penny farthings and memorabilia. Garden looks nice for summer. Food and service was excellent and very reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

Breakfast was filled out with tomatoes, good quality ingredients but more mushrooms and tomatoes than bacon sausage and egg. Poached egg was cold. Obviously pre-cooked and reheated in boiling water. Bit disappointing

The food was a bit average and not as tasty as expected the menu looked exciting but when it came to eating the food it was a let down. The food was not plated well to match the atmosphere. The food tasted bland and also it didn't taste very fresh, like the scones were not baked on the day. As for service, the two waitresses were nice but it took a very long time for them to take our order. A bit of a let down to be honest but pretty place. Two sandwiches, one scone, two coffees and one tea came to about £40.00

It used to be a very original and interesting place with the old fashioned bikes but became just ordinary now. I do not like the colourful, with no specific style Christmas ornaments there. Coffee and cake were good but I am not planning to go again. It feels now like the place is for old people.

Great café to stop off on a cycle ride. There's a Penny Farthing museum plus they have great food, coffee and cakes. There's inside and outside seating and the staff are extra special. A must visit but you may need to book as it's extremely popular.

Visit 1. it was busy and almost fully booked. We only just got in. It's a nice place with good coffee and food. I liked it. Visit 2. Had lunch and it was very nice. Booked this time. It is cashless by the way.
