Booked this for our anniversary. Parking is available for free. Even though it's classed as an outdoor setting, they have done such a great job with covering it, 9/10 outdoor heaters, blankets available on your chairs. So romantic & cosy, yet covid safe. Along with the starter menu, some of the main courses show starter options (I chose the Carbonara starter, Lobster Main & Pana Cotta desert). Service was excellent, waiter Luigi was friendly and setting was amazing.

An odd experience. First impression very good, classy, modern, stylish. On closer inspection you'll see a TV showing football and people screaming into their mobile phones while their kids run around on the furniture. It's a classy veneer hiding an average airport hotel operation beneath. If they really want to live up to their upmarket image and pricing, at the very least take the TV out. Food sounds great, looks good, misses the mark. Sashimi grade tuna which they then mash the life out of. Lasagna swimming in sweet tomato sauce. It's ok but it's just not as good as the nice decor and authentic staff would have you think.

I chose to spend my girlfriend’s birthday here, having been in other San Carlos and I must say that even though the place looks comfortable and decently decorated, it wasn’t up to the expectation. There’s no special feeling about it. The food comes way too quickly for my liking, suggesting that it’s pre prepared. Glasses being delivered by hand. Waiters walking around with glasses in their hand screams low budget to me. No sense of occasion. Might comeback but with low expectations, unfortunately

Absolutely brilliant restaurant Sorrentino been quite a few times food is absolutely amazing by far the best can Carlos in the country keep up the good work some compliments to the chef

Abbiamo mangiato benissimo, no doubt about it. I’ve usually avoided restaurants attached to hotels and but it was the closest to my son’s school for a dinner on a school night. The staff are smart and have that imperceptible snap you’re looking for in a good Italian restaurant, with warmth that’s essential when dining out with children. That was evident by the many young diners still in uniform. However by 7 pm the unfurrowed brows were mostly due to Botox and the uniforms were a mix of Burberry and 7 for all mankind. San Carlo’s food is good but not at the same level at Locanda Locatelli. The pizza dough is reasonable with toppings that are flavoursome. The chicken on my son’s pizza was moist and flavoursome but the cheese good old cheddar instead of mozzarella. With Honest Crust nearby and Rudy’s pizza soon to join them, it’s not on the same level but good none the less. Tre Ciccio is a good local alternative but San Carlo is really competing with Piccolino and Don Giovanni. Our mains were delicious and the lobster sauce that accompanied my halibut was flavoursome.

Amazing. Beautiful food. Such friendly lovely staff. Especially Jake! Most fancy place we've been in a while. And was no side ways glances that we came straight off the train in hoodie and leggings attire! 😬. Thank you for a lovely evening ❤️

This restaurant is not as good as it looks… Service is very slow. It took forever until someone gave us the menu. We tried to order, but were told by two waiters, that only the manger will take orders. Vitello Tonnato, an absolute standard dish, was out. So I chose Carpaccio. There was a mayonnaise-like mustard dressing on it, a lot of it. It tasted like something you’d expect from a fast food restaurant. As the main dish I had scallops. There were five of them on the plate. Not a lot for the price of 18,80 GBP. They were TOTALLY overspiced. Very salty. There was NOTHING on the side. Only the five scallops. The spinach that was an extra order was very spicy. I like it, but it would have been a LOT too hot for many others. It was undercooked. Not al dente, but undercooked. They charged 4,50 GBP for the spinach. I tried to order cheesecake for dessert, but that was also not available. I will never come back to this restaurant.

Absolute beauty this place! Food is always amazing, the staff a cut above and atmosphere encourages a feel of being abroad (if the weather's right) 😅 Would go again at every opportunity.

Don't let those old celebrities pictures on the walls fool you. The atmosphere is poor, the decoration is outdated and hideous. The staff in suits were rude. While I was there; i had a menu on the table, and needed it for later; one of those suited men, took it off the table as he was walking by; without saying a word. I didn't finish my drink, and it was very obvious the glass wasn't empty, he did the same thing, took the glass and left off with no words. I expected tasty food, good service, and friendly staff. My expectations weren't met at all. Food is over priced. And the service charges are for rude staff. Not visiting this restaurant again.

Lasagna was perfect and garlic bread too. French fries were a little portion, dry and cold. I dont recommend the dessert, the pastry was dry too.

We have previously been here early this year and found the staff and food to be excellent. We stay in a hotel nearby every time we fly out from Manchester Airport and this is now our go to restaurant the night before to visit. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. 5 stars every time. ✨️

Gay Carlo is a wonderful beautiful ambient experience. It is so easy to find with all the signs and it has free parking. But beware the hotel beside Gay Carlo only welcomes pedestrians to go around to the hotel? Unnerving. I had the ravioli, devine. My lady friend had oysters! Yaay for me…. And we had the tiramisu dessert. Gay Carlo is absolutely the best restaurant in the hotel car park. Grazzie Rigazzi, Bonjourno tutti. PS you can drink AND dance here. The parliament says it is okay. 🆗

One of the best places we've eaten in a long time,food and service we're second to none.Not a place to go for a cheap meal but you get what you pay for and this was excellent.

Nice food but limited vegetarian options. Deco is good and calm atmosphere

The place is cozy with varieties of food on menu. The portion for appetizers is bigger than I expected. The food was alright. Actually the atmosphere was great until the young waiter started to serve us and it turned upside down. He did not smile and gave us the feeling that we disturbed him. Pizza was great. Ice cream was nice and not too sweet.

Its been a great lunch again with San Carlo, food are all extremely good as usual and service is also at his best too. Best choice for celebrations! Will definitely coming back again soon.

It was a seafood day, lovely service but the restaurant is quite out of the way - if you drive it’s worth the trek. Quite pricey but it was seafood which is expected.

Visited San Carlo for my daughter's 5th birthday. Not the first time coming so we expected great things as per usual. However, the food was majorly disappointing. The garlic bread was extremely salty, as was the pasta dishes. It really wasn't great. The prawn cocktail and the bruschetta was lovely, I recommend those dishes. I wasn't a fan of the pizza, too much sauce for me. Just a personal preference. One thing I will comment on is the service. It was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. It was just the saltiness that let it down.

Reasonable food at reasonable price. Staff got me a wrong wine, but she was apologetic and changed it as soon as I told her so. Parking is difficult especially if you have an SUV.

I recently celebrated my partner's birthday at San Carlo Fiorentina and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. While the service at the bar was quite pleasant, the food was average and the overall experience was marred by poor table service and a billing issue that took away from what should have been a special occasion. The food was, at best, average. Although it wasn't terrible, it certainly didn't leave a lasting impression and for the asked price definitely not worth it. The service at the bar was a silver lining in an otherwise disappointing evening. The staff behind the bar were attentive, friendly, and helped create a positive atmosphere. Unfortunately, this positive note was overshadowed by the lackluster service at our table. Throughout the evening, my partner and I felt ignored by the waitstaff. Requests for assistance and attention were met with delayed responses, if at all. The real low point came when we received our bill, and to our dismay, it significantly exceeded what we had ordered. It took a frustrating 20 minutes for the staff to rectify the mistake, despite the correct amount being clearly indicated on our table's bill. This not only dampened the celebratory mood but also left us questioning the competence of the establishment. It's disheartening to write a negative review, especially when celebrating a special occasion. On my partner's birthday, we expected a delightful experience, but instead, we were met with subpar service and a billing issue that should never have occurred. Unfortunately, this experience has left a lasting impression, and we won't be returning to this restaurant. It's a regrettable situation, and I hope that others considering this restaurant for a special occasion have a more positive experience.

Food was nice , wait time was long but I guess that's due to how busy it was . Do recommend going if you haven't been before .

Very fancy restaurant, felt a bit undress for the place as it's within the hotel. The food was delicious, the calzone was a surprise as it was a hugh size!!

Good service, nice atmosphere in the restaurant, recommend the spaghetti with king prawns. Good selection of truffle dishes. Highly recommended.

Amazing food and wonderful atmosphere. Appeared to be short staffed as the service, whilst very good, took a long time to bring drinks and food. Had a wonderful evening celebrating two birthdays and would definitely go back

We had visited the restaurant in Manchester two weeks earlier so staying overnight at the Marriott we decided to eat there. In both places the food was excellent but the staff were not as good by which I mean the waiting time was longer. My theory is Manchester has to compete with a large number of restaurants whereas here it is almost a captive market within hotel complex so staff I felt were not as attentive. Still worth a visit as my husband's lobster thermidor was excellent as was my steak.

I got took here for a birthday treat by my step daughter. What a fab place, the food was lovely staff accommodating. Will be taking my family in the future for special treats .

Compared to the Manchester City centre San Carlo (which we had visited for lunch a fortnight earlier), this restaurant exploits a captive audience in the attached Airport Marriott hotel and the local area. The staff simply do not have to compete so hard for your business - and, sadly, this is reflected in the less-than-perfect levels of service and attentiveness. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good place for good and drink, but.... Try the Manchester City centre San Carlo to see just how good this chain can be. We shall use this airport restaurant again because of its convenience and easy access from the Marriott. May 2022.

I have to say this is my favourite San Carlo. The food is always amazing and the staff are extremely attentive. I especially had a fantastic experience with Andy who is on the door the last time I came. He ensured my friend and I were safe and even took the initiative to book us a taxi and walk us to it. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Gone downhill since our last visit mainly in the quality of service. Everything seemed like a chore to the staff and the chap supervising the bar was very rude and just interrupted me when I was ordering drinks before we went to our table. Used to really like the place but won't be rushing back.
