Extremely rude reception staff. Very slow turnaround time for prescriptons - even acute TTO prescriptions from hospital discharge. Can never get through on the phone, currently 13th in the queue, yet again. Their reception staff who are meant to be front line representation are awful. They make me fear coming to the practice. Overall the practice places patient focussed care at the bottom of their list of priorities.

I phoned today and got through immediately, a very helpful person listened to my request and sorted it pleasantly and quickly. What more can you ask? All GPS surgeries are under pressure and sometimes things don’t go right but in the 30+ years I and my family have been with this practice we’ve never had cause to complain

I had an urgent issue that needed sorted for my partner and I. Barrington Medical Centre went above and beyond to help us out quickly. They were fantastic, I can only say good things about my experience.

Shocking GP practice, reception staff are the rudest and make you feel like you are causing an inconvenience for them. Anyone even considering becoming part of this practice I suggest you go to st Johns just next door. As i cant make a new review i will add on, this practice and its staff are a shambles, waiting on hold for over 30 minutes to be cut off at the very end !!

I recently registered with the Barrington Medical centre, after a lengthy period of not dealing properly with a previous diagnosis. I met with Dr Simona Juverdeanu who thoroughly reviewed my medical records, discussed current symptoms and formulated an action plan to ensure that the correct medications were in place to effectively manage my condition. I have registered with a number of surgery’s over the years, but this was the first time I felt reassured that there was a real focus on care and attention to ensure that I would be back on track to a more healthier self. I left the surgery feeling very confident with the choice made given the level of care, support and guidance provided.

I Have been a member of this practice for many years now. Fortunately I don’t have to visit too often but did have cause to recently on two occasions. Both times I was initially dealt with by Helen who is part of the reception team. I am writing this review as I she was extremely helpful and understanding throughout the whole process. She is a credit to the practice and I can’t thank her enough .

Yesterday’s appointment with Dr Simona was much more like the pre-Covid visits to the surgery when one felt valued and respected. Thank you Dr S you are an asset to the practice.

A relaxed informative appointment, Dr Juverdeanu made me feel at ease and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Although never an enjoyable process going to the doctors I would want to see Dr Juverdeanu again if the need ever arises due to her calming friendly manner

This is such a lovely medical practice, and all staff are super friendly and welcoming. Thank you Barrington for allowing me to do work experience with you! Gwyn (the practice manager) organised the week for me and she made sure I shadowed all roles within the practice. Everyone was so caring and helpful, and I learnt that every patient at Barrington receives the best care!

My family have been with the practice for around 20 years and I have never had a bad experience. Unusually for a GP surgery you can always get an appointment within a few days and I have always found the receptionists pleasant enough. Maybe those people complaining should ask themselves how they behaved to the receptionist to get such a reaction back?

A genuine embarrassment of how healthcare professionals should conduct themselves. Rude receptionists, uninterested doctors and a very poor standard of care. I had a slipped disc in my back which after five months - and care from an osteopath- I am eventually recovering from. This practice implied on my notes that I was faking my pain to get strong pain killers, and then when they got my MRI results from a private scan decided to sit on them for a number of days and not let me know they had them. Takes a long time to get a letter for private recommendations, a complete lack of empathy on the phone and a bizarre reluctance to give you a face to face appointment even if you get through in the morning to secure one of these highly coveted appointments. It’s actually annoying you have to give one star on these reviews

Waited on hold for an hour on two separate occasions, greeted finally by an exceptionally polite and caring receptionist (sarcastic tone) she ignored everything I said she just wasn’t listening. Asked for a repeat prescription; everything had to be done via email she said, so I emailed and guess what 10 days later my prescription has still not been processed. Very poor service, understandably they’re busy however there is no excuse for rudeness.

On hold for hours even tho it says first in the cue. Reception staff extremely rude and unhelpful. Can never get an appointment for weeks. Can’t choose if you see a female or male doctor. Won’t give a time for a telephone appointment and you can’t have a face to face appointment. The worse surgery I’ve ever dealt with and advise to avoid at all costs.

Having had a traumatic A&E trip over a weekend, Barrington Medical Centre (and especially the reception team) were brilliant and ensured without fuss that I received an emergency appointment and all the support I needed. All completed comfortably within the day on Monday. Well done.

Excellent surgery with really proactive and helpful staff across the board — from the reception team to the doctors and nurses. I feel like I'm in safe hands.

It would be nice if gps greet you with a smile. TLC goes a long away when someone is not well, more than what meds or taking BP does. Karen the lovely nurse always greets you with a big smile, and half your problem is gone. The gps sometimes do but mostly don’t. A particular male gp has this attitude “ why are you here?” as if patients just come to see his miserable face. Also had one thing at a time attitude as well, “I only have 5 min” What if the symptoms are connected? Holistic approach should be taken when it comes to patient care. If I come twice and take 5- 10 min each time, why not book me once and atleast hear what I have to say and diagnose and treat the problem correctly. Sorry, but please take this as feedback, I work in healthcare myself and symptoms can be connected and most of the time are. Receptionists could do with have name badges on and smile when you ask them a question. One receptionist refused that I spoke to her yesterday and when explained quickly said oh yes it was me you spoke to. Pass the parcel attitude, again too hasty in trying not to help rather than let’s listen to what this person has to say and help. The new facility is amazing, clean and clinical.

Fei Dou is the best phhlebotomist I have ever had. I have very small veins and in the past many others have had great difficulty in obtaining blood from me. Fei is first time every time. And her skill is much appreciared. Ian Comrie

I am extremely grateful to all of the staff at Barrington Medical Centre and in particular Dr Simona Juverdeanu for the prompt and caring attention they provided to my Mum on a recent call for medical assistance. The whole team went above and beyond to ensure mum was treated quickly and effectively and have continued with follow up phone calls that have been much appreciated by all the family at this very difficult time. Thank you so much

Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff at this practice. Reception staff are always busy but helpful and empathetic on the telephone. All the doctors and nurses are kind, skilled, listening professionals and a total credit to the NHS. Dr Raza was absolutely fabulous at my appointment today for very some very unglamorous ‘ailments’ and I left feeling that they care, very much about the seemingly unimportant. Well done all at Barrington MC and Happy Christmas 🎄🎄

We have been with Barrington Medical centre for 12 years now. The doctors have always been excellent, listened well and are available. We have always had positive visits. The reception team are always polite in person and on the telephone and we have never had any issues getting appointments. The nurses have always been great, they've always been great with our children when it has been time for their injections or any routine appointments for me. I have always found the doctors give plenty of time, we never feel rushed. We're very happy with the services available to us.

Recently, I have been suffering with depression and from the first phone call to The Receptionist, who was amazing, She was so caring and made me feel like i was not going crazy, even though it was only a voice over the phone, she showed so much empathy. I cannot thank her enough. I had an appointment the very next day and The Dr, who may i add, was young, He took time to listen to me and did not rush me when trying to explain how i was feeling, He showed so much compassion, and i can honestly say, just talking to him felt like a load was lifted from my mind. I was given a help organisation phone number, and medication, But The Dr has phoned me, to check how i am doing. I cannot thank them enough, from the Receptionist to the Dr, Thank you

The staff & access to services at Barrington is excellent. My friends are jealous of the help I have received from reception staff, the Practice Manager & GPS , all going the extra mile. Thank you. I also don’t think that the waiting area needs any real attention- it’s functional & clean.

The Dr's receptionists couldn't do more to help you. Very highly trained, they listen and explain the right course of action. I have found the Dr's listen and care.
