Even 1 star for this GP Surgery would be a commendation for this surgery. I had a face to face appointment with a Physio yesterday at 12:40 PM. I turned up at the surgery and checked in but got a text 12:39 that the appointment has been cancelled. This is not the 1st time since this happened but its the 3rd instance in 5 years. The GP Surgery has longest wait times for appointment, opd services and the worst patient handling.

Reception staff are appalling. They’ve used a pandemic and the suffering of others to lessen their work loads and do practically nothing. Seems to be only those who call themselves ‘key workers’ that have been ill equipped in handling the general public during a pandemic, yet any other professional dealing with the general public have managed just fine, they’re not dealing with people face to face so it can’t be blamed on the spread of COVID. My mother is terminally ill with cancer, she attends this practice. Last week the ask my GP app was offline by 9am. I rang the surgery after being up all night caring for my sick mother to request a medication I usually request over the ask my GP app. The reception who answered the phone became instantly agitated and aggressive when I requested a prescription. Thank god for the Christie’s hospital who allowed me to collect my mother’s medication. The medication was a new pain killer she has just been out on as the previous. Had stopped working and she was throwing up because of the pain. Tried to explain it was a new medication that had not been ordered before and that was the reason my mother had none.. but was interrupted and told ‘it’s your problem if you’ve run out of your medication, you should always have a weeks worth in’.

I have been going to this practice since 2018. I absolutely LOVE the clinical staff. My GP is one of my favourite people who makes me feel comfortable coming to him with any issues that I may have...... The receptionist staff, including the manager are the most appallingly disgustingly behaved people I have ever interacted with in my life (with the exception of perhaps one person, E). They refuse to acknowledge or take accountability for the way they speak to patients or behave. My challenge with this surgery continues to be the reception staff. I am filled with dread and anxiety every time I have to phone West Timperley Medical Centre. And reading over reviews, it seems that other patients have the same challenge. The practice reception manager, T, actually hung up the phone on me and sent me a series of harassing emails after I had a challenging encounter with a member of the reception staff and challenged their written account. The reception staff at the surgery do NOT seem to comprehend that you are contacting the surgery because you are unwell, you may be anxious because are not feeling well and their tone and rude "bedside" manner often makes patients feel worse. You are constantly pushed to use AskMyGP which is shut off after a few short hours, which means that patients are forced to phone the surgery and risk encountering rude staff members, as long as they phone before 14:00 because the reception staff are not available after that time for administrative requests - this is a medical practice, not a nail salon. People have complex medical needs, which require a certain level of availability and sensitivity from the practice. What I have reviewed here is a summary of the abysmal service I have received and without going into further detail, I also believe there is a level of systemic racism in place at the practice based on how I have seen the reception interact with people of colour (not just myself) - they have actually sent out patient surveys and omitted Black and all associated ethnicities from the surveys. IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOUR, I WOULD ADVISE THAT YOU CONSIDER ANOTHER SURGERY. THE RECEPTION STAFF NEED EXTENSIVE INCLUSIVITY, UNCONSCIOUS BIAS, AND GENERAL CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING. They are openly hostile and seem to forget they work at a medical practice and not a meat counter in the 1980's.

The only reason I gave this a 1 star was because Dr Salim was lovely and kind. The receptionist however was absolutely vile ! The way she spoke to the man infront of me was absolutely disgusting and I’m pretty sure it was because he had an accent that wasn’t British. This isn’t my usual drs and I was referred . So glad as I won’t be coming back here again,. While waiting in a very very long queue and late appointment I’m absolutely horrified at how I heard this receptionist speak to numerous people like filth and with attitude. People are going through serious illness’ and mental health conditions and want to feel safe and in good care. The receptionist today should not be working in a customer facing role. It was seriously awful what I witnessed today the way she spoke to people and all of these people myself included spoke to this woman politely and with respect . This behaviour is inexcusable and I have reported this to the Dr so I hope it gets addressed. Looking at the other reviews here I doubt it has.

Was told a very important letter was ready to collect by the dr, went to collect it and was told by the (big woman with glasses and brown hair) “it’s not there nothing I can do” no apology or professionalism whatsoever (aggressively placing trays on the side to look) long story short went in the next day to collect it and was greeted by a lovely woman (blonde hair) apologised for the messing about I’d been put through and turns out my letter was there all along and it just needed printing off! Some of the receptionists are damn right rude and should not be working in a reception role — to say the least. Dr Royal, Dr Effingham, Sister Roberts, are the best 2 doctors & Localm you could ever meet in my opinion and genuinely care about patients and have been supportive and helpful for years to me and my little girl, so thank you to them.

This is an absolutely superb practice. I have been a patient here for nearly 14 years and have always been 100% satisfied with the service they deliver. All of the staff: receptionists, nurses, GPs, are completely patient centred and go the extra mile in meeting their patients’ needs. Considering it is a relatively small practice, I have always felt that they make every effort to provide appointments as quickly as possible and have always returned my telephone calls on the same day. My experience with all members of staff has been very positive. All of the doctors and nurses I have met are both professional and caring: a shining example of a well-run exemplary NHS service!

It is impossible to see doctor. hardly manages to get an appointment via online portal that is active only during busy school time(for 15 min). if you plan carefully and is lucky you will be able to get an appointment with nurse.

There’s a few doctors who do try their best and have their patients best interests at heart and for that I can’t fault them. However, today after ringing the blood test help line throughout the week several times with no prevail I finally got through, to be told there were no appointments till 01/11/22. I asked what’s the point in the tests then if you’re not taking them at the time of illness occurring. They’re response was that they are so short staffed due to ongoing covid excuses and flu jab they haven’t got the staff to complete the blood tests. They also said GPS are sending much of the work their way to save themselves staffing and money. They advised I rang my Gp as they are listed to take blood and shouldn’t be sending me to them in the first place. I then rang west Timperly to be greeted by the frostiest receptionist over the phone, why they think it’s their business to ask personal questions I’ll never know. I tried hard to explain why I needed blood tests without disclosing all my personal information. What alarms me is they answer the phone where those waiting for appointments can hear the conversation, so any safeguarding or patient confidentiality completely goes out the window. The receptionist then offered me an appointment at another venue on the 23/10/22. I explained I had a holiday booked and I could not change the date to which she questioned my choices. I became very upset and disclosed my dissatisfaction with their service, and I know full well I am not the only person who’s been failed by this practice! The details I shared with the receptionist highlighted her lack of compassion and respect for the patients at the practice. As she responded “had you just let me speak I would have looked for another appointment for you!” Again not being patient centred and lacking compassion at the fact if just cried to her on the phone. It beggars belief some people can be allowed to work in a job where you come into contact with people at their most vulnerable. She made me feel like a burden and that it was effort to meet my request. Considering I needed an emergency GP to come to my house at the weekend, I thought that would give them haste to support a patient in their request. There’s a lot I could put down in this review, but it’s not my experience to share. As I’ve stated some first class doctors, nurses and assistant health care professionals, however some terrible admin staff who let them down. I will be making this a formal complaint.

I had an appointment for 9am this morning. I arrived at the surgery and was the only patient. The doctor I was seeing didn't turn up till Just turned five past. At 23 minutes past I walked out. If I had turned up at 9.20 for a 9am appointmet I would have been turned away

avoid at all costs. impossible to get a appointment without a phone consultation, rude reception staff, refuse to deal with repeat prescriptions over the phone,. im on lifetime medication and never once contacted about covid jabs, flue jabs, booster - if I could give a minus rating I would never even had the courtesy to reply to written complaint

After reading through some of the previous reviews I began to wonder if I had the right surgery. My experiences with them have been somewhat different than those of the reviewers here. West Timperley Medical Centre is the third surgery I've been registered with in the last ten years. They are far and away the best. I've always found the reception staff to be pleasant and polite. They are direct, but courteous, and considering the workload they have on a given day (patients who phone as well as who are in attendance) they seem to handle everything well. I've seen nurse practitioners and doctors, all of whom have been helpful and communicative. When I've needed prescriptions or diagnostic tests, they take care of setting them up. The advice is clear and useful. I would give this practice five stars except for a couple things they can't do, but that are down to today's NHS: 1) the ten-minute rule with one unit per issue should be more flexible; and 2) the 8:00 am calling system is dreadful, for all surgeries. I recommend this surgery. Good reception staff, good medical staff.

What is the point of having the ask my GP web site when it’s nearly always offline? Tried to book an appointment via the receptionist and was offered one in 3 weeks time. Covid cannot be used as an excuse anymore. Lives are at risk. No wonder A&E have so many patients turning up that can’t get to see their doctor. Totally unacceptable.

The WORST GP surgery that I've ever been to. When making appointments over their useless AskMyGP app they ring the wrong parent in the family who is at work to talk about their child's problem. Then when we ring back they say they'll see if the doctor can fit us in their "busy schedule". AskMyGP is fully booked before 10am so there is never a chance to get an appointment when you need a doctor. Even before the pandemic there was never an occasion where we were seen on time for appointments, always an hour late at least. I understand that appointments can run late but they could have the courtesy of texting patients telling them that their appointment will be later than scheduled and to arrive later. If there was a close enough GP surgery we would've switched years ago. AVOID!

Dreadful. My obesity, alcoholism, lack of physical exercise is all because of shoddy GP. In my apt, I didn't get valet parking, conciercge or a welcome drink! The bathrobes were not the right color and it all the GP's fault. I had a ugly baby who keeps crying and it must be the GP's fault. I wanted sleeping tablets, a month long fit note and few morphine patches and the horrible GP said no. I will complain that the GP is put behind bars.

Great practice! I never had a problem getting an appointment within a reasonable time. Early appointments before 8am were offered to work around my work schedule. Doctors, nurses and receptionists have all been friendly and professional. I can't recommend them enough.

I have been here for many years, most of my 40 year life. There have been ups and downs along the way, I won’t lie. However, I also think there are some brilliant people working here. My personal favourites are the practice manager Ms Foskett and Dr Barnes. I’ve got a complicated mental health and physical health history with medications I will be on for life. So some of the issues I’ve had trying to cope with chronic pain due to several spinal fractures changing my lifestyle and what are classed as severe mental health disorders, I’m aware that I may not have been the best patient in any case previously. But credit where it is due, I am treated fairly and think the admin get a raw deal sometimes. Dr Barnes and Ms Foskett May not even realise this but they have pushed me through some of the darkest times in my life with their caring nature and action to make my life a little easier wherever possible. Thank you for everything. You’ll probably know who I am by now!

didn’t appreciate how I was spoken to this morning. I believe he was the nurse. He was very patronising. I had misheard his instructions as he mumbled and spoke far too fast and then shut the door. He then proceeded to try embarrass and belittle me in front of the doctor for not following his instructions correctly. Thankfully that was my sign off appointment so I no longer need to step foot in there again.

Doctors and nurses are all amazing. But their ask my gp appointment system is a joke. You have to be there online at 6am if you want to have an appointment! By 8am it's over, you can't get one. And if you call, they basically tell you to book your appointment via ask my gp on their website.

My local practice, was a regular in there some years back trying to sort a skin problem out, just got fobbed off with various creams and ointments every time i went in, cost me a fortune in prescriptions and time off work to make the visits too,,,yet no actual diagnostic stuff was done to find the cause of the problem. I decided to give up going in the end and that was that,,,,but now all of a sudden they seem very interested in pumping me with experimental drugs that are still in trials and have no long term safety data, so interested they rang my house,,,,,suppose there's money to be made eh?.....

If I could I would give negative star to this surgery… utterly disgusting and disappointed with the service they provide. Never pay any heed to any complaint so maybe last resort is to make a complaint to GMC. Never receive any response from doctors at all. Have a telephonic appointment booked with gp since 3 weeks and on the day they never call and upon calling they say gp had an emergency. Always seen with nurse and never seen any doctor what so ever the problem is.

It is very sad and concerning to know that your health practice doesn't have a duty of care; I was referred by a GP/Nurse for a test...this was in April, l followed this up in May stating I was still sitting and waiting for the appointment it took till 18th September for the appointment to be carried out. Having been for the appointment, I was expecting a call or letter for the results, waited further 4weeks with no update, I then contacted the surgery again to see if they had my results, only to be informed that there was no information regarding the appointment. Now, this is a breakdown of information that is very scary, to say the least. After numerous calls regarding this, l was told by the receptionist that they would chase this up and contact the hospital. After missing a call from the surgery, I presented myself to be told that they didn't have any information regarding the appointment, I thought that it was strange having spoken to one of your colleagues regarding this, and they told me that they would chase this up, after stated the time and date that we spoke. So, to cut a long story short, I know it not short, I was told they couldn't get through to the hospital. Wow, that strange I did. I was informed that because there wasn’t a clinician on the letter, that was why they didn't send it to the surgery . I also had to give the surgery the contact details of the hospital unsure why that is why they didn't have that on their database ....am still waiting for the results.....the struggle still continues ...I need to let people know

Called at 8AM, first person in queue, and am still here at 8:11AM…. Is the phone line broken? Bit worrying that there are surely many people waiting behind me, when I am still waiting as the first person of the day…..
