Stayed here for one night before heading to Manchester Airport in the morning. We ate at the George & Dragon pub attached to the Premier Inn which served food till 21:45. Food was hot and tasty although service was a little slow. The staff at the hotel were friendly and the overall cleanliness was good. The room unfortunately was very hot during the night and the pillows were hard as rocks. The fan in the room was useless. Great water pressure from the shower though!

Booked for a 1 night get away, having stayed in many Premier Inns throughout the UK & always guaranteed a great stay. On arrival, place looks like a building site with scaffolding up, very dated rooms. We were giving a disabled room, nowhere to hang clothes, had to bend over to wash. We ended leaving and booking somewhere else. Not your standard Premier Inn!!...VERY DISAPPOINTED 😔

It was the hottest week of the year and the rooms were unbelievably stuffy and hot with only a fan and a window that only opened two inches to keep cool - it was more like a sauna than a hotel bedroom. However Adrian and his team were friendly, welcoming and tried to make my 5 night stay as best they could in the realms of this dated hotel.

Room was comfortable, adequate and practical. However it was extremely warm and although a fan was supplied, it was noisy and led to a broken nights sleep. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Value for money for a short stay

I spent the night after completing Manchester marathon 3rd April 2022. This is the first time I have stayed in a premier inn hotel and not had a great experience of comfort and rest. I know what you are thinking, I had just completed a marathon so what do I expect? Let’s focus on what I did not expect. I did not expect to hear the sound of juggernauts rolling by and turning out of a junction and therefore waking me at random times (this is quiet impressive to be able to awaken me given my post Marathon exhaustion). In the morning I contemplated doing the classic British approach of “Must not grumble” yet no I remind myself I am in a premier inn and they advertise a goodnight guarantee or your money back. I hobbled down in the morning to talk to the receptionist about my experience and was given a number to call to claim my good night guarantee. I attempted this however of course it was not possible to talk to someone so I emailed my experience. To my bemusement I received a response stating my experience did not meet the criteria of the goodnight guarantee and therefore no refund. Oh dear what a disappointing effort from a reputable company. I do not want to dissuade you from staying in a premier in however, take a close look on Google maps and you can see the building is effectively two structures. One being part of the original old pub style building adjacent to the previously described noisy road. The other part is slightly away from this and looks more modern. It seems I may have been unlucky on being allocated a room which would maybe be perfect for someone with significant hearing problems. Maybe the good night guarantee team would enjoy a night in this room based on their current listening capacity.

The Hotel is perfect location for myself and although the place is looking a little tired and needs some TLC you cannot fault the staff. They are always pleasant polite & helpful. I stayed at Sale a few weeks back but the Breakfast here is far far better. Lovely poached eggs, mushrooms cooked in butter not deep fried & my steak was cooked to perfection last night :-)

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff who were very accommodating to our son who has Autism. I will definitely be staying here again. Highly recommended. Also the restaurant attached to the hotel knew how to handle him and were amazing.

Me and my family stayed here recently whilst coming over to Manchester for a Christmas trip. The location was ideal for our needs and the service was great, the lady on the front desk who checked us in was lovely and very friendly. The breakfast was great too, as expected from a premier inn, the only difference being it was not a 'help yourself' buffet breakfast, they cooked whatever you asked for so if you wanted second helpings, you had to ask again, I think this may have been due to not having anywhere to put on got food or the hotel not being too busy. The only thing that takes a star off is the hotel itself seemingly a little dated, it needs a big face-lift compared to other Premier inns we've stayed at, buy it was clean, quiet and tidy.

Nice staff, however room was so warm and it wasn’t hot outside. Fan was provided but was not really much use and made lots of noise. Didn’t get much sleep. Pillows awful and squeaky bed.

I was surprised by how large the bedroom and bathroom were. The room was neat and clean. Had £25 for dinner, I had chosen vegetarian options as meat/chicken wasn't halal. They were spicy chilli fries, which were amazing. Sweet potato curry had a nice mild flavour and a warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. The food was tasty. Would stay over again, if I'm ever at Altrincham to stay overnight for work.

Great people, excellent service. The restaurant was short staffed the night I was there, but the server was very helpful and friendly and I didn't mind waiting a bit longet for my food. Then, the girl serving during breakfast was also very nice and effiecient too. Same with the receptiom staff, lovely ladies who were to answer any questions you may have.

Friendly welcome at reception. Very helpful staff. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. Room spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. Excellent value for money. Will stay again. Plenty of car parking spaces. Short walk to the centre of Altrincham.

Rooms tired by Premier Inn standards, bed was uncomfortable and not a great night's sleep as a result. Car park was also very full at all times causing difficulties parking. On the plus side the breakfast was good as was the service.

Great stay. Staff were wonderful - extremely helpful, and very friendly, especially to my 8yr old daughter who they spent their time talking to and making feel very welcome. Lovely breakfast and good value. Really good to have free parking too, which was handy for meeting up with family. Would definitely stay again! Special thanks to Greta on Reception for her kindness xx

Old and.well worn but rooms were clean and tidy. Unfortunately, we need an early night due to having to be at MAN for 330am and there was loud noise from maintenance up until around 7pm. Will not stop again.

The staff here were AMAZING! Really friendly and helpful and what you'd expect in a luxury hotel. It's the older style rooms but they were clean and the room was well maintained.

Always a great place to stay when in the Altrincham area, not like it's rival down the road, you can book per night. Food/Drinks onsite with additional bar/restaurant, good value. Room was very spacious on the 1st floor. Highly recommend

Great location, great onsite facilities. Quaint restaurant/Inn with a cosy feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room I had was Massive, bathroom nearly as big as my flat! Ok, the TV is Tiny, but it's a plus to have all the channels working. The food was delicious and cooked fresh to order. Will definitely recommend, and hopefully use again when I'm in the area.

Yvonne was very helpful in providing recommendations for local activities and ensuring my stay at the premier inn was as pleasant as possible. Really loved it thanks!

Definitely a dated hotel in need of some tcl.Having said that we were very happy with condition of room. Cleanliness was good with everything we needed.Staff were very friendly and helpful. For what we paid,it's location for Manchester airport was ideal.Only downside was that our room backed onto the onsite pub/bar smoking area and staff and patrons were talking, laughing and making noises up to 12 pm,considering we had to be up at 2.30am it wasn't ideal.Would still use again for convience.

From the moment we arrived Yvonne the receptionist was friendly, caring and very accommodating. Adrian the Manager runs a fantastic hotel that is friendly, clean and the breakfast was 10/10 with the service also a 10. Thank you so much for a very pleasant weekend.

Perfect location for our trip to Planet Ice for hockey. Needed somewhere with a decent car park. Staff lovely, big shout out to Yvonne. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We ate and drank in the pub area too and again food was delicious and staff were lovely. Will defo be using on our next trip to Altrincham!

Great hotel, one of the older Premier Inns so don’t be expecting too much from the rooms we were in 224, nice and clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly especially when we had breakfast which was one of the best cooked breakfasts I have had it was delicious 😋 would definitely stay again

Clean, the staff were friendly and food in the attached pub keeps body and soul together. Could do with a freshen up of the decorations.

By far one of the worst hotels I've ever been to. The room had a sloped roof on one end, meaning I only had 50% floor space. Almost knocked myself out several times. It looked like a dungeon out of a fairy tale. The TV continually switched on/off all night like it had a mind of its own. The door wouldn't lock properly, had to pull it shut after it had closed. They usually lock themselves. Floor space was really small. Expected more for a £100 p/night room. Location of the hotel was also dingy. I've been to a few Premier Inns in the past and this one was by far the worst.

Very clean. However this place needs lots of TLC. Showing signs of general deterioration so needs a refurbishment desperately. The staff were brilliant. There was only one girl on breakfast duty & she was rushed off her feet. Can do better Premier Inn

Small room (twin) but spotlessly clean with comfy beds. Staff were very friendly but had to wait a while for someone to come and serve me in the bar. The location is quite residential - about 10min walk from the Navigation Road tram dtop

Overall it is a Premier Inn Hotel; basic amenities, dated room and bathroom but a clean room to sleep in. I find it annoying that they don't provide any conditioner, and it wasn't so cheap that you could forgive that detail. The mattress was not great, it definitely sunk in the middle. However the pillows were comfortable and the room temperature was good. There was plenty of parking considering we didn't arrive until 10.30pm, which was great. Check in was fine and they are staffed 24/7 which I think is a must. It is not in a bad location, you would need a car if exploring the area.

They have what really matters: relaxed, friendly yet courteous staff; dependable service, facilities & food quality. Decor a little 'tired'. But more than made up for by the plus points, especially the pleasant staff!

Stayed at this Premier Inn for a night only as was watching Steelers vs Manchester Storm hockey. The rooms were decent. Facilities was good and the hotel was in a decent location. 10-15 minute walk to Altrincham centre & another 5 to Planet Ice. Only gripe I had that there was no wall socket close to bed to charge up phone but that's about it.

Room was clean , large and beds comfy. Only wanted an overnight after a long trip to the airport for our holiday . Great price and very friendly service at the all you can eat breakfast

We had a much smaller room than usual at a premier Inn. Certainly not comfortable for two people for two nights and we still paid the same as others in full size rooms. No a/c and only a small window for light and ventilation.

Good location with plenty of free onsite parking. Staff very helpful. It’s an old building; rooms could do with a refresh

  • 5/5 Ritchie L. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel could do with some updating however there are no real complaints with my stay. Ample room in the car park, the cooked breakfast was made to order with no restrictions on quantities and the staff were beyond helpful, friendly and accommodating. Check-in is normally 3pm however I needed the room sooner due to a wedding and they were happy to accommodate us. Would stay again if i needed somewhere to rest after a night out.

Set in the beautiful town of Altrincham, no complaints of area or setting. Premier Inn website, however, advertises £39 rooms, of which there are none of when you click through, to be fair, £39 would be the right and proper rate as the room we stayed in was beyond basic and very tight squeeze for 2. Still, we were charged £78 on the website and when we enquired about staying another night, (business) was told the same room had gone up to £110. Quite thankful we never needed it really as I'd have seriously begrudged payment for this room, it was very small, quite bleak, barely any natural light, slightly sagging bed, suspect carpet which had seen a lot of mileage, and just jaded really. I expect a cheap hotel in this affluent town is not going to happen, and they can obviously get away with the prices as people are paying them. However, on a positive note, my son's bed seemed ok, he said he had no complaints. The room did have a very small table for your laptop etc, a bathroom with a newish shower, (although the head wasn't detachable which I always find annoying if I don't want to wash hair because hair gets blasted as soon as turning on!) and also the lady behind reception with the Polish accent was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Was happy to park the car close by in the car park too!

I was in the older part of the hotel which has larger rooms but is close the main road - when lorries went past (which is frequent), the room shook. Tiny TV, awful wireless - less than dial up speed (had to tether of my phone, though my colleague in the new part of the hotel couldn't get mobile phone signal so couldn't do that). The bathroom has a large fan that is extremely noisy. Room was very tired but clean. The room was very warm but as I was by a main road, opening the window just resulted in car and lorry fumes. Been a while since I went to a hotel where they gave you a key... The breakfast is good, not a massive amount of continental so worth upgrading to full. Service was quick though.
