Nice little B&B in the heart of Knutsford, Rooms are clean and comfortable. Food was delicious, in regards to the staff probably one of the warmest welcomes we have received from a hospitality venue exceptionally freindly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again if in and around this location.

The stay at the pub was perfect the staff pleasant and welcoming. Daniel could not do enough for us, he was very pleasant and courteous. The food for dinner and breakfast was so tasty, we would highly recommend this pub and look forward to our next stay. Well done to everyone at the Rose and Crown and thank you.

Cosy pub, ample parking, stayed the night here and found it a comfortable stay, topped off with a lovely breakfast served by lovely staff.

We went in the Rose and Crown as it advertised a terrace out the back, we entered and were served very quickly by a friendly young lady. We made our way out to the terraced area and made ourselves comfortable in the blazing sunshine. After about half an hour or so, the sky darkened, and with thunder and lightning, the heavens opened.....we didn't care and positioned ourselves under one of the large sheltering awnings. Nice terrace, and although quiet, a good atmosphere. The pub inside looked really old style and cosy, a great pub to relax in. The only one downside and to me it was a big one......please lose the paintings/prints of the dogs as they are completely tacky and ruins the decor of the pub interior !!!! Otherwise, it's a great pub, and we will be back.

Big shout out to Zara who welcomed us to the lovely hotel and bar! She very kindly checked us in and brought the pub cat along to say hello! The rooms are lovely and spacious with a nice fresh bathroom and I can recommend the limoncello spritz. Again another big shout out to Zara in the morning serving us and the other guests breakfast and drinks, she worked so hard! Dog friendly, would recommend and love to stay again 😊

We went for a lunch for my husband's Birthday. We all really enjoyed the starters, with a variety ordered. The mains were a mix of what was on offer, all were very good. Fish and chips, a pie and a chicken schnitzel. Everyone had a convivial time and the house cat is a lovely little thing.

Visited today for an early dinner. Staff were quite young but very helpful and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the meal and the experience.

As a local to The Rose and Crown, I’m always thrilled to be greeted by such warm and welcoming staff. Always a big fan of their lit fires after a long dog walk …as obviously they welcome our furry friends too. Excellent food and drink choices - a perfect traditional English pub in my eyes. Keep up the great work team.

Went in for a few pints after a walk round Tatton Park. Very good beer and service. Spoke to a lady who I think was the owner and she was very welcoming. Very good young barman. Dog was welcomed as well.

Amazing food, great atmosphere. Staff were so friendly, you could tell they really took pride in the job and went above and beyond to deliver to service. Best Sunday Lunch in Knutsford - we’ll worth the wait as we had to book in advance. We will definitely be back!

We stayed one night at this lively friendly pub/hotel, the staff were brilliant with us, we needed to be at the wedding before check in time, but they went out of their way to get our rooms and keys sorted out so we wouldn't be late for the wedding, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy, the breakfast was really good to, definitely going to be going back again

Absolutely gorgeous old pub. You can feel the years of atmosphere as you walk in the front door. The staff are wonderful and friendly. Room was more than a fair size. Breakfast was HUGE and delicious.

What a shame! Not one who ever takes time out of their day to write a review however, this is my local and FAVOURITE spot for a roast but sadly will never ever return after my awful experience today. Pre booked a table for 6 & 3 babies. I was made aware that 3 prams wouldn’t fit which is understandable but there would be room for x1 pram and x2 high chairs. We made sure we only took travel prams that could fold really small and go in the cloak room and one of us actually left their pram in the car. I was then given a broken unsafe highchair. When I asked if they had another a very rude member of staff basically told me to like it or lump it? The pub was also very hot and crowded and we was placed right near a fire when we arrived the fire wasn’t lit and a member of staff came to light it right behind one of the prams. I kindly asked if he minded leaving it unlit as my baby was already really warm to which he ignored me and went ahead anyway. The food was gorgeous as it always is however, extremely shy - 4/6 of us got the lamb dinner which consisted of one very lean lamb chop. The veg came to share between the 6 of us was one small dish of greens, one small dish of cauliflower cheese and one gravy boat. Honestly felt as though our custom was rushed and a complete inconvenience. Genuinely gutted as I usually really rate this place and recommend to friends - never again. Shocking. Don’t bother especially with children!

Brilliant location in a pretty location. We stayed for one night as a stop over to the Lake District. Our room was a small double, it was small but ok for one night, and we knew it was going to be small. We had a table in the restaurant in the evening and the food was top notch. Staff really friendly and attentive. Would return.

Lovely, quietly efficient staff - exactly what I appreciate and value. The risotto I had was outstanding and the history and ambience enhanced the whole experience. Somewhere I'll be visiting again!

We experienced another enjoyable meal last night for our Christmas 'doo', great food and equally great service - the staff really can't do anymore to make you feel more welcome. Always a pleasure to eat at The Rose and Crown.

13/10/23: not a great selection of craft beer. We had Wainwright's Amber ale, Somersby cider and Poretti lager. Service was good, staff friendly. Quite a busy establishment. Dog friendly!

Best pub in Knutsford. Great atmosphere, food, drink and service with a smile from the best team. Sunday Roast are a must, but make sure you book in advance!

Best pub in Knutsford; the pub itself is a beautiful Tudor (I think) building, with a very cosy snug (complete with large fireplace). It also has a brilliant outdoor area out the back. The food is excellent, although their serving times can be a bit weird. They're dog-friendly, which is a big plus. I haven't stayed there and haven't seen the rooms, but have heard they're nice.

I stayed here for 1 night on 19th Feb 2022 with my husband. We booked the small double as it was the only room left available. The room was adequate in size, obviously with a small double. It was spotlessly clean except for a couple of stains on the carpet and well laid out. The room had everything that was needed to make it a comfortable stay. The ensuite was clean and had a shower over the bath. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food in the evening was a limited menu, but the food we ordered was excellent. The staff never stopped and looked after everyone with a happy attitude. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and again delicious and served by great staff. I would definitely book again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We visited the Rose & Crown a couple of weeks ago and loved every minute. Friendly and welcoming staff and seated in a fabulous traditional setting. Both of us ordered the house special pie which was delicious and innovative. Beautifully rustic vegetables but the skill was in the cooking and mine was spot on, crunchy but delicious. Wonderful manager who kept a keen eye on proceedings and made sure we all had a terrific experience. Well done guys : )

The Rose & Crown is hands down my favourite pub here in Knutsford, but more importantly its the best pub in Knutsford! Super friendly staff, atmosphere and ambience. The food is excellent, especially Sunday lunch. If you're in Knutsford and fancy a drink or something to eat, this is the place to go!

Stayed at this lovely, cosy pub on the High Street earlier this week. Called in for a pint and ended up booking a room for the night! Central location, with its own free to park car park. Easy access to Tatton Park. Good atmosphere, real fires. Good selection of drinks available. No food available that night, however, not a problem as there are plenty of eateries around. Comfortable, clean room overlooking the High Street. Lovely breakfast the following morning.

The staff were really nice. We only went for drinks so I can't comment on the food but the tea wasn't nice, I'm not sure what teabags they were but they were awful. Also my feet were sticking to the floor near the pool table which wasn't great.

Nice, quiet, small hotel. Didn't use the pub but got back after they'd closed without any issues. Room with a view over a pub outdoor area but was a nice clean room with everything you need. And it's right in the middle of knutsford and just a short wall from the train station.

Went for lunch with the family after hearing positive reviews. Beautiful interior and very cosy. Proper old pub. Food was superb. One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had out. The beef was cooked to perfection and not over cooked like most places serve beef. Food took its time coming out as was very busy but staff were very apologetic. They even took deserts off the bill without us even complaining. Highly recommended!

This is the oldest pub in Knutsford and was built originally as a coaching Inn. From outside it is a beautiful black and white double fronted timber building on the inside it is lots of traditional charm. Wandering around it has lots of lovely details like the beautiful carved fireplace, painted in red, the main bar is solid wood and intricately carved, it goes a long way back, maintaining its beamed structure. It offers accommodation with car parking at the rear for patrons I nearly booked here for our evening meal as the reviews were excellent and chatting to the bar man everything locally sourced but the kitchen is closed on a Monday. Fab location on the High Street surrounded by shops and places of interest. It's a very happy pub, great atmosphere frequented by locals and visitors alike and doggy friendly... We felt very at home here

Fantastic stay at the Rose and Crown - the owners left a card and a very kind complimentary drink for my birthday. Wonderful staff & great atmosphere of an evening. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning & the room was modern and clean. Would 100% book again!

Very nice lunch, service a little slow in fact we were asked if we would like the desert menu before we had received our main course. The one thing I didn't like was the tip added to the bill. As we just paid the bill when it came this wasn't noticed until we were home but when a tip was given we were not told so we gave a tip on a tip.

Another good pub in the town. Wifi took me on an odd journey but Booth sorted it. (chophouse) Three real ales. Had my first Wainwright AMBER ale. Very good. Lovely traditional pub. Busy for 3pm on a quiet Wed. Booth chose an expensive Chambourd Spritz. Lots of character. Popular for food. .. but pricey..

One of the few genuine and traditional pubs left in Knutsford area, which is worth visiting. Great atmosphere inside, especially around this time of the year, with real fire burning in the fire place. This is a very well run establishment and the service is great. The visitors are greeted by the governor or governess, regulars are called by their names. The staff is very efficient and friendly, especially the tall young gentleman behind the bar, called Daniel but they're all great. The food is very good too. There's also a large outside area at the back over several levels, curiously decorated as an apre-ski bar with patio heaters and all. Overall highly recommended.
