Very disappointed ordered last night to find 2 hairs and dirt in the bag of chips so didn't eat them just had the madras and sides but also disappointing the madras was very mild and plain alot of excess water and the chapati was stone cold wont be ordering again not happy EDIT as I cant reply to the takeaways response!!! Very rude attitude from staff feel free to check your CCTV but dont see how that will pick up hairs in my chips unless you have some super CCTV!!

Ordered at 18:30. Arrived at 21:05. Chased twice and was told ‘ten minutes.’ Food was lukewarm, bland, and watery. £3 returned for the lateness. How about they send me another £3 so I can go get something resembling a meal from somewhere else?

Absolutely awful. Watery bland food. We binned it. Non existent customer service and it was also much later than the delivery time stated. Avoid like the plague.

Ordered a delivery via Deliveroo. It arrived quickly and the starters were nice, however both curries were very watery and oily. The lamb tikka dopiaza had very little lamb in it although on the whole tasted okay, however my partner's chicken tikka masala was completely tasteless. I hate to leave negative reviews but it seems like there are a few that comment on the watery curries, so perhaps an opportunity to improve.

Food was fairly poor quality. Couldn't taste the mince in the mince pilau, and the curry was excessively oily. On the bright side, the service was good.

Went for takeaway last week food was awful .The curry was very bland and looked like the chicken was over cooked. Vegetable curry oily not able to eat .Chips were pale and couldnt eat tasted but were horrible. Will not go again. Staff were polite.on a positive note.

Ordered delivery through their website for delivery tonight at 19:25. Turned up at 18:55 whilst I was putting the kids to bed. Delivery driver spoke little English and didn't understand the issue so pushed the bag at me and left. By the time the kids were in bed (19:20) unsurprisingly the food was cold. Phoned up to discuss with the restaurant and their solution was for me to drive there and drop off the cold food and pick up fresh food as their driver was busy. That would have meant leaving my 2 and 4 year old in bed and leaving the house to do this. Obviously not practical. Nothing more offered. Made other food for dinner. Won't be ordering from here again. I usually get from Essence. Their timing is impeccable but thought I'd try Curry Cottage this time. What a mistake. Back to Essence next time.

By far the WORST curry I've ever had the displeasure of trying to eat. Awful food the chefs should be ashamed of themselves. Vindaloo sauce oily and watery and so bland, I will never visit this establishment again. If I could give minus stars I would!!

Lamb Shashlik and Chicken Madras. Genuinely the blandest mildest curries I’ve suffered. Zero flavour and coconut milk has more spice. Lamb chops similarly were nuked and the tandoori had zero flavour. The worst curry I’ve suffered in the UK. New Zealand and Ireland ones are still level of their own.

First timers. Ordered delivery. No problems there. Out of 6 items ordered only 1 was good.(sag paneer) A couple ok (Lamb Jalfrezi and the breads) The Tarka Dahl had to be drunk...no texture...so few lentils it had no flavour and the Fish Tikka was described as a sweetish gloop with the fish overpowered by sauce. Last timers.

Really nice food and staff

Have eaten here before and was good. But the takeaway was awful. Chicken tikka masala was watery and had absolutely no flavour at all. it was even worse than a plain curry sauce. The king prawn balti Rogan Josh also lacked flavour, it was in a thin sauce that was spicy but lacking in flavour. Couldn't tell at all that the garlic naan had garlic in, I'm not sure it did. I was really really disappointed in this and felt like a complete waste of money.

Had prawn madrass and chicken vinderloo took 1.5 hours to be delivered and all was not good prawns overcooked and chicken dry, I have had better from them but if I retern to that again I won`t go back !!!!

Don't know what people are moaning about. Been going here for years, the staff and food are excellent! I won't get a curry anywhere apart from here, friends and family love it also!! 100% recommended👌👌👍👍

Third time we've been. The staff were all lovely. Very helpful.We chose two lovely curries. All the food was fresh,hot and very tasty. We will soon be back

We had a fantastic evening celebrating a 60th birthday. Food, service, ambiance were all top notch! Will definately be going here again and will recommend to all family and friends. Thank you to all the staff for making the celebration a success ❤

We had a take out very disappointing. Chips were soggy and not cooked nothing like you get when you sit in, we had to be thrown them in the bin, no rice in the order that we had paid for. Wouldn’t get a takeaway again from here

Rubbish customer service and not trust worthy, I called this restaurant to cancel my order from Uber as that was the process before he started making it as I accidentally ordered from a different address but he advised me to call Uber as he doesn’t have authority to cancel from his end but promised to cancel. When I called Uber and told them the situation he lied about it and said I never called him. As a result I lost 27£. Rubbish job.

Lovely food, great service and pleasant staff. I forgot to order a dish once as part of our takeaway - rang them and it was ready for us to collect within minutes. Look forward to eating in again soon.

This was my 1st time trying this little hiden gem and it's certainly not going to be my last the meal was fantastic the curry was cooked to perfection & the chips was beautiful cooked and fresh ( no grease ) its the best curry I've ever had in all the places I've visited over the years. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars review I wouldn't think twice about putting it down. Thanks so much 🙂

Not been in for a long time and you're welcomed by the same people. This place has been going for as long as I can remember. Had the usual poppadoms n chutney tray followed by a lovely flavoursome curry. Definitely return to try something different like a shashlik.

Had a really nice meal here last night, 8 of us all really impressed with food.

Been here quite a few times and food and service was excellent as always.

The tray of 5 pickles ordered came as 4 - no lime pickle. The food was good quality, but where was the heat? The red sauce with the pickles made me sweat MORE than the madras or vindaloo!

Foods spot on, beer tastes fresh so I'd wager the pumps are cleaned regular and the staff are very attentive but not in your face. I highly recommend. 5 stars

Had to wait outside for our table due to social distancing. A long wait. Once we got in we found the distancing had all but vanished. Service was slower than you'd expect. Food was ok but nothing special.

I have been going here for years as it always seemed fine on the way home from the pub. When i was ill in the morning always blamed it on drinking too much! I went a few weeks ago, social distancing not great, but not so bad given the size. I had rang my other in advance, i had to stand there for 10 mins as i was told they had not order, when they found it no apology. Some of the order was missing & my friend & husband were sick the next morning. Two weeks later, i was at my friends house they had already ordered, the delivery was late, the food was cold & didn't taste that great. My husband convinced me last night that the sickness was a coincidence & not the food as it was fine. So, we went in last night & ordered. Staff were not wearing masks baring one, who was using it to keep his chin warm, there was no social distancing in place. Got the food home the order was correct & it smelt lovely. When we opened the samosa they had human hair in the container and it was quite a lot to a point we don't know how it was missed, that went in the bin. After, i refused to eat mine. This morning my mother in law & husband were ill. We will never go back there.

Great curry house.

Poor quality curry, same basic sauce for all curries. No variation in flavour between dishes. The dishes are also very oliy.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. Staff are friendly attentive and able to give advice and suggestions on the menu. The venue is clean the food is brilliant and reasonably priced. Aircon would make it perfect but would not let that spoil a brilliant business. C U again soon !!!!

I have eaten all over uk and east Asia especially the indian cuisine, now through recommendations I went to Ganges and experienced the most spectacular authenticity Indian food which I haven't had in a while. I must say it is by far one of the best if not THE best indian restaurant i have eaten at, the customer service experience was by far beyond expectations.the waiters name I believe was Mohammed and wow..just wow..I have been in Michelin starred restaurants..this was better..I couldn't believe it, I was in shock by the knowledge of the waiter when it came to the dishes, he knew everything inside and out, exactly I wanted for a waiter. This is definitely number 1 in my list..this should be Michelin star by my opinion.
