Ive been quite a few times to hear and meet the organists who entertain every Wednesday, but one in particular was Declan Poole, with whom I complimented on his playing and Im going to see this fantastic organist again in October.

This is a trip back to memory lane..... remember those theatre organs rising up from the basement? Then gorgeous rich and amazing various sounds emanating from the organ. They have top quality guest organists every Wednesday at 1pm(think does open at 12). Tea, coffee and bacon sandwiches etc available. Entry fee £7.50 - well worth it!

The only centre in the world dedicated to the Wurlitzer theatre organ. They now have the 6th oldest in the world and the superb Compton from the Davenport Stockport. Concerts every Wednesday, prices are great, lovely atmosphere a great place to visit.

An interesting collection of musical heritage with working exhibits. Anybody interested in film, theatre, silent movies and musical accompaniment, should find it of value. Media studies students could learn about early media methods. Run by enthusiasts.

Sadly, we have lost many theatre/cinema organs over time. The heritage centre aims to keep theatre organ alive with regular performances and a fascinating museum recounting the history of the instrument. Refreshments and parking are available. The centre is run by volunteers who work really hard to make you feel welcome. The centre is in the process of being re-fitted to include a second (Compton) organ along its historic Wurlitzer, which is die to be completed in early 2018.
