We were lucky enough to have Burrito Picante catering for our Wedding Anniversary party (we honeymooned in Mexico so wanted to recreate the theme). They catered for 50 people, delivered to our house on time and it was absolutely delicious, fresh and mouthwatering tasty - everyone complimented on how amazing the food was - some even called back the next day to finish off the leftovers! Nick was amazing, he helped us choose an exciting selection from the menu, offered ideas and made suggestions on what may be a good idea. He catered for our every need including vegetarian and allergies. Thank you Nick and team, we’d definitely book you again and I’m sure rest of the party guests will all be visiting your restaurant soon! PS. The homemade Mexican cookies went down a storm!

The vegetarian burrito I ordered was full of chicken and had to be thrown away because I don't eat meat. After calling and being told the manager would call me and provide a refund, I never heard from them. I called several times and spoke to two different staff members who repeatedly told me to wait for a call back from the manager. I never heard back and was never given a refund. I ordered a large vegetarian Jackfruit burrito and small nachos from Burrito Picante on Tuesday evening 21st March. It arrived close to 9pm. The nachos came with unmelted cheese and instructions to microwave them. This, as the label explains, is to keep them from getting cold and soggy during delivery. They usually come with the toppings (guacamole, sour cream etc) in separate containers so that you can add them after microwaving without them getting hot. On this occasion, however, the toppings were already poured onto the nachos with the unmelted cheese and so had to be microwaved along with the nachos. Not ideal, but not a big deal either; it was still tasty, though I do think it could use a little more cheese - after the first layer it’s all dry tortilla chips underneath. The real issue arose when I tucked into the burrito. It was a bit cold and less flavourful than usual but was packed like I always expect from Burrito Picante. I’ve ordered this many times before and usually love the flavour and texture of the jackfruit they use. After a couple of bites I began to realise that I wasn’t eating Jackfruit at all, I was eating chicken. Now I’m a vegetarian who hasn’t eaten meat in 6 years (until now), but I do still recognise the texture of chicken in my mouth and having eaten their jackfruit many times - I knew this wasn't it. Some of my meat eating housemates inspected it as well and confirmed that it was definitely chicken. Disappointed, I called Burrito Picante to inform them of the situation and see if I could get a replacement sent over but as it was just after 9pm no-one answered. I called the next day and spoke to a member of staff who took the situation very seriously and said I would be provided a refund by the manager. She said they had a new manager who was still learning the ropes, but she apologised and said she would message the team whatsapp chat about it. She asked me for my number, which I gave, and said the manager would call me the next day, likely in the evening. I waited for the call but it never came, so the next day (Friday 24th) I called the store again and spoke to a different staff member. I caught her up on the situation and she suggested that I might have confused the jackfruit for chicken, but I explained that I had it was definitely chicken and that I still had the burrito wrapped up in the fridge if they wanted to inspect it themselves. She said the manager was off until Sunday and assured me I would be called then and offered a refund. I gave my phone number again and waited for a call. Sunday came and went and I never received a call. I called back on Tuesday 28th and spoke to the staff member I had initially spoken to on Wednesday the week prior. I explained I still hadn’t received a call. She was apologetic and professional and told me she would get the manager to call me back shortly. Weeks later I still haven’t heard from them or been provided a refund. I’m sorry to write such a negative review as while I have found Burrito Picante in the past to be a bit inconsistent in quality and have had orders canceled without reason before, I’ve often found their burritos delicious. Mistakes are inevitable from time to time and can empathise with anyone starting a new position and the challenges that must bring, abiding to dietary requirements really should be the number one priority for any restaurant or takeaway, and the poor customer service (not to be blamed on the staff members I spoke to) I received was unacceptable. Based on my last experience I will not be ordering from Burrito Picante again and can’t recommend that any vegetarian or vegan does either.

Appalling customer service. Me and my partner was totally ignored for 5 minutes initially. I would understand this usually however the shop had only one customer eating in. Finally when we was acknowledged the lady and man behind the counter where busy speaking back and forth with one another and totally failed to engage with us on what we would like in our burrito. They had also ran out of many options again understandable but this would of been nice to know before placing the order. During the process of putting the chicken into the burrito they had ran out of what we ordered they could of told of this beforehand but they failed to do so. So the lady serving decided to mix the chicken they had into one burrito which was gross! I don’t usually leave reviews however this service and quality of the food was so so bad I felt compelled to leave a review. The burrito at the bottom was soaked in watery sauce from the beans and made the whole burrito soggy. This whole experience was a disaster. A highly recommend caring more about quality control and your actual customers rather than bragging about become a supervisor to your colleague

Been waiting an hour and a half for a lunch order to our office. They don’t even pick up the phone. Completely unacceptable, won’t be ordering from these overpriced jokers again (edit 2 hours 20 minutes now)

**over a year later edit** As someone else was mentioning in the recent comments the food quality really went downhill here. We ordered recently and the experience we had was underwhelming to say the least. Not sure what's happening with this place but the rating on the delivery apps went down fast. 5th time ordering, this food is top notch. Tasty, gooey, full of flavour. Always our first choice when it comes to weekend takeaway. More people should know about you!!!

Ordered 4 dishes - £40 worth of food via deliveroo and they got it wrong, missing a meal valued over £15 and when called to resolve the missing meal and was told to just reorder the missing food, no options to resolve the matter or offer of refund. If you can’t get a simple order correct I’d suggest investing in either a car to be able to correct your mistakes for your customers sake or get some staff in who can count to 4.

What a great alternative for a quick bite. So long as you remember it's a street food offering you can get a tasty bite for a good price. Just try not to get too carried away and over order like I did!

Had lunch a casual business meeting, this Saturday just gone. The server was nice but when she commented that the food at another halal Mexican place in Rusholme was good - I knew the food was going to be sub par. My contact ordered a large burrito and I had a burrito bowl, also large. Both were nasty! Rice was bland, not black beans but baked beans without the sauce, the shredded chicken was bland and I got dribbles of guacamole. Best thing was the Mexican sodas and our very nice server who managed to convince us both to upsize! In the words of Colin Powell, never again. The owners should be ashamed for selling rubbish and charging premium prices.

Ordered a takeaway from here 3 times now. First time everything was fine, food lovely and order correct but the second and third time we had a completely wrong order sent! There were numerous items missing in my burrito bowl, sour cream had been swapped for a spicy sauce and as someone who doesn't like spice I couldn't eat this so it had to be binned! No lettuce, cheese or nachos and had spicy beans instead of black. When I phoned up, the lady didn't give anything in the way of an apology, said they couldn't refund and couldn't deliver a new one. If I wanted a new one I'd have to re order and pay full price. The third time we ordered, I ordered a burrito but what came was a burrito bowl! Completey different order altogether. Won't be re-ordering again which is a shame as the food is nice.

Great little find of a place and worth any detour you've got to make to drop by in person. Very clean inside with a good vibe and friendly staff. First time in and I had no clue what I was doing even after looking at the menu online. Tiarna served us and sorted that out by walking us through it how building one works. Kinda hard to describe my particular burrito (pictured) but the spicy chicken tasted great and the large burritos are properly big. Don't underestimate them and definitely have the sweet potato fries! Everything seemed fresh and even the garlic mayo had a decent quality to it. 100% worth stopping by.

Been many times and the food is incredible. The one time the food wasn’t quite right they were quick to offer a refund or a free meal. Claimed the free meal and was back up to perfect. One of our favourite takeaways :) staff were so friendly and helpful highly recommended

Loved this little burrito place in Altrincham. Much nicer than the chain restaurants around. Better value for money and tasty food. We had burritos but the other food looks equally as good, there were loads of options for burritos

I rarely leave reviews but I had to on this occasion because it's pretty serious. I've ordered from this place several times over the last few years, I've never thought it was great as I used to order from Chilli Tortilla but then they closed and this was the only option. I get the same thing every time - veggie naked burrito. On this occasion, they only had "spicy" beans which are some form of white beans. I usually opt for the black beans but they didn't have them. To start with, the white beans were severely undercooked! They had the texture of peanuts. I had to scoop them out entirely. It wasn't until I was googling the safety of undercooked beans and it's actually really serious as you can get poisoned from this. I'm pregnant and really concerned about the few beans I have eaten. I'm hoping I will be okay but if this affects my baby there's going to be some serious repercussions. I had to call the shop and make a complaint and will be heading in there tomorrow to see the manager. The veggie option which is sweetcorn, courgettes and tomatoes just tasted super old. The courgette was like a rock. It's quite simply the worst burrito I've ever had and cannot say I'll be returning.

Loud music could not hear the server. Burrito was stone cold lump of slop the worst burrito I have ever had. Chucked it in the bin after spitting out the first mouthful. Would rather Chuck the £10.50 I paid in the grid !!!

I had a very gracious offer to come into the shop to discus the issue as it was the fault of uber eats that I did not receive my delivery and no fault of Burritos Picante 5 star customer service

This is a major player for food in Altrincham, the place is so clean, friendly staff, we tried the tacos, They were so fresh, tasty, well seasoned you tasted everything that was within the taco, I was blown away by the experience, and will be going back for Nachos this time, Loved it

Burrito Picante never fails to impress. If variety wasn't the spice of life I'd be eating here every day. The quality, taste and freshness surpasses my expectations every time. It's satisfaction guaranteed and the service is second to none.

Decent portions. Means naf all when it’s colder than a corpse though. Loaded nachos, stuffed with cold cheese and meat, expected it to atleast have melted cheese. Maybe it’s because it’s a sunday night? Burrito was stuffed to the brim but also freezing cold

Went there today for the first time ever. 2 young girl, one with pink hair was ok, the other one was a horrible person which i assume she likely is in real life if she is whilst getting paid. I wanted to be called next to the counter to order my food but she rudely spoke to me to which i replied "i was waiting to be called up". She replied with a "im sorry?" with a facial expression of, if you dont like it you can leave. I asked for a double filling clearly but she decided to do her own thing and make a small burrito. Whilst doing this, she kept patronising me and speaking in an awfully rude tone. Eventually got to the end to paid and patronised me again with a poor tone of voice "thank you SIRRRR". Vile service. Horrible person. If you had your job, dont take it out on me. The attitude made me hate sitting there eating and i shan't be coming back again. My friends come to Altrincham a lot and ask for places to eat, never will i recommend this place. Fyi, im a child psychologist and have studied psychology for 11 years so i understand tone, body language and behaviour hence why i say all the above with confidence knowing this was her intention. Ive also worked in customer service for many years before and whilst studying and i know what customer service should be. She is not it. She gives the GOOD food a bad taste and needs a reality check of life.

The food from here is incredible, however I can only give 3 stars as they got our order wrong. It was only 3 items but one item was incorrect. We tried to contact them by phone but were getting no answer unfortunately. I eventually contacted Deliveroo and was refunded the cost of the incorrect item. Food was 5/5 though!

You may as well put your money in the bin because you're not going to get much for what you pay. They have raised the prices which is fair enough considering the inflation, but they have also massively cut from the quantity and quality of their food as well which I find unacceptable and a naughty way of cutting their costs. I feel betrayed. My burrito was so small and it was basically just some rice wrapped in bread. Some onions, no coriander which was my favourite part. And no luck with finding a trace of the guacamole, salsa and tortilla chips I had orderedand abd only two tiny pieces of courgette for the vegetable part of it. Dry and without any flavour because they had not bothered to put anything in it. And this was nearly £10. They used to be very good. It's a shame they have dropped their quality so much. Will never order anything from them again.

So tasty amazing experience. Staff are friendly and efficient the food is in great portions and very very tasty even fresh and totally worth the prices. I will become a regular definitely. Even better than taco bell.

Disgraceful attitude from staff who clearly did not want to be there serving customers. Informed customers behind us who had already been queueing for 10 minutes they needed to leave as there was no food left and they were closing. I don’t go into restaurants to be given bad attitude for no reason. Decided to leave without the food and will not be returning.

The lady who served us today reminded me of my favourite aunty. Competent, in charge and in control. The churros made me so happy. Piping hot, filled with chocolate and accompanying caramel sauce was spot on. Had nachos too with a selection of sour cream, chipotle and salsa. This place far out-performs barburrito. Why would you bother with a chain when burrito picante exists in this world? Honestly so glad I went here. It's lovely

Quite disappointed. I read all the reviews thinking I was going to get an amazing meal. Ordered the 6 quesadillas. 1 just had plain beef in it with no other fillings the others just bland If I’m being honest. Boring. Also no sauces that we asked for :/ that’s what the main problem was it really needed the sauce.

Fantastic and authentic burritos prepared quickly and with a friendly staff. The food is always top-notch and with the great range of options, Burrito Picante is one of the best options for Mexican food in Altrincham. Absolutely love having a burrito on a lunch break and the staff at Burrito Picante always make it a joy. Definitely recommend!
